It’s always a challenge! On the old GoPros I used to lick the lens to make the water droplets melt in, but on the newer GoPros there is a coating that fully repels water, however leaves micro droplets that can look pretty bad. Nowadays what I do is focus on keeping the Lens totally dry, which is very tough in the water. The best way to do it is to wipe it on a damp part of your wetsuit so that there is a thin layer of water that “pops” like a bubble and leaves the lens perfect! It’s an art on its own haha 🤙
I think I’m still trying to figure out the same thing!! Right now I only have a 7m Moto X Apex and last years Nitro so I’m riding the new gear for the shots, but honestly I’m really blown away with the Moto x compared to its first model. I think the 04 nitro 7m will be totally insane because of the way it’s been tuned, the Moto X would be as good if not better, but its tuned for a bit more all round performance and ease of use. Either way the performance of a kite on short lines doesn’t really come to the same conclusion as on long lines, for now I’m really happy with my Moto, more than any kite I’ve tried before!
If you’re down you should make a comparison of what its like looping the cabrihna line up on shortlines.. which yank hardest/ boost highest and kite go lowest

Yeah man, crowded Cape Town gets like that! This session was with a bunch of friends so we were all comfortable with eachother doing that. Generally at this spot the aim is big air so the guy who's jumping kinda has the right of way while the other kiters are kiting upwind for their next jump. It's a respect thing, if I see someone heading towaward me, aiming for a kicker, I will do whatever I need to do to let that guy jump, and when it's my turn, he will let me jump! I don't get that part on video much!

First off it's an inland spot, so you can't expect a beautiful clean sea breese, however depending on the spot (there are 7+ spots depending on the wind) you can find some really good wind! It is a bit gusty, sometimes with pretty rough patches (especially close to the sides of the river) but 1000s of casual kiters ride there every year and 100s more learn to kite! Naturally I like to ride in the strongest wind I can find which pushes us to kite at spots like this haha... The one thing about this season which was pretty tough was that the wind didn't often fill in properly at the common spots so we had to go a few miles upwind to catch the good strong wind. When the wind did fill in, we had a mix of really good days and other super gusty, on and off days, However we often could only get to the spot after 2pm so if you could come early and spend more time at the spot, you could get a much better success rate than we did most of the time!
Thanks man! This is the Strutter by Sweet Protection. This is normally a kayaking helmet but since I do both sports, it works for me really well. Wether it's a heavy run or nuking day, I always feel comfortable wearing this helmet! 🤙
