Thanks man! Yeah this session was definitely focussed more on getting that double rotation boogie landed clean, this season I am going to focus more on making enjoyable, relateble videos for you guys! What's your opinion on vlogs or talking to the camera? I like going out for a session, shooting everything and editing to a nice song but I'm looking now into the whole vlog thing...
Soooo smooth! 🔥🔥Saw your new SB vid too... Just started kiting almost a year ago and trying to break 25'. Working on a good carve and pop instead of using kickers. Looking to upgrade my 2016 12m SB. Should I stick with a new SB since the new FX2 is more difficult to progress with big air? (Working on kiteloops too so I was thinking the FX2 has faster turning speed)
Thanks so much! Awesome to hear you're stoked and progressing with kiting. I would say the switchblade is a much more forgiving platform to learn on and will recover nicely if you make minor steering mistakes. For ease of use and a very dependable ride the switchblade is the way to go, but if you're up for a bit of a challenge, the FX is an incrediable kite and you will definitely get used to it, but it is true that it's a higher performance kite which demands a bit more control. The nice thing about riding a more challenging kite is you end up becoming a better kiter because you will learn where to put the kite doing tricks. I would say for loops, go for a smaller size switchblade (9m or smaller) and maybe give the FX a go after a good season of riding!
Hi Camdyn; is there a lot of difference in the heights in jumping between de FX2 and SB? I've now 10m FX, 9m FX, 8mSB 7mSB and thinking to switch all the kites to the FX2. Has the FX2 a better hangtime than the '21 model?
Hey Harold, hope you're well! The switchblade is a great kite as it jumps easy and is super forgiving with a really nice float coming down. The FX2 is definitely a higher performing kite but won't neccecarily make you jump higher than the switch. The FX demands good kite control and is much less forgiving if you make a steering mistake mid jump, but it will teach you where to put the kite during jumps and tricks. The new FX jumps really well and is surprisingly lofty. You can get great height but you need a great upwind takeoff and good timing otherwise it's very tricky. The new FX is much better for jumps and loops over the older models and comparing the two the FX2 jumps higher for sure and is a great overall performace upgrade. I would definitely demo the FX to see if you like how it flies before changing up the whole quiver. In my opinion the 7 and 8m FX is great abd I would maybe think about having a couple of switchblades and an FX in the quiver. You do lose lighter wind performance compaired to the switch, but it makes up for it with the extremely vertical jumps as well as the great looping performace and turning speed as well as the dependable catch afterwards!
Yeah, it all depends on how you use it… the new FX2 jumps really well if you can get a good upwind pop. Takes a bit of time to work it out but if you can use it right, this kite is a machine ⚡️
