We are Amanda and Lincoln. With our two daughters and pets in tow, we moved across the world from our home in San Francisco California to buy and restore a petite chateau on 40 acres in the beautiful French countryside of Brittany.
Our channel documents our daily lives, as well as the triumphs and failures in restoring the 19th-century Chateau de Lingourdy. We plan to return the gardens, cottages and barns to their former glory. If you're interested in observing life in France through the eyes of an American family who have amassed a menagerie that includes cats, dogs, and donkeys, please join us.

Lincoln, I took care of my tennis elbow by getting a velcro band that goes on the muscle between your wrist and elbow, works great! It stops your muscle from pulling on your elbow.
Of my goodness what fantastic finds!! Those pots/pans, are gorgeous!! I’m with you, I like a little grunge! Things are just not made now, the way they once were!
Why are you yelling like that?! They scared you with a non-isolated virus!! and you are glad to be afraid! lol Why are you yelling like that?! They scared you with a non-isolated virus!! and you are glad to be afraid!lol
Ha ha...I was expecting you to clear up the flower names. You folks are wonderful caring for the animals that wander onto your property. I'm so glad you managed to get the cat to the Vet. You are good, caring people.
I love old copper too. Years ago I bought a large antique copper bowl at an auction. It’s marked Phila., Pa. It looks like the type used to make fudge. I keep it in my kitchen to hold many of my soft bound cookbooks.
You inspire me, every renovation you do I always find something to do in our country house near Chatres! Keep it up. Don't pay attention to boring people!
I just read about a trap neuter release program where they snip a tiny bit of the tip off a feral cats ear so they can be recognized easily and not have to go through the trauma of being trapped and checked at the vets.
thanks for the vlog, first time of viewing and love it. Episode was certainly not meh. 😁 we have a similar windy location but in the south of France? The only way we can get shade is by fixed metal pergola with wisteria or vines clambering over. Your herbs will appreciate a lighter soil with gravel and sand mixed in to the soil without a acid mulch? Your rhododendron can cope with a hard pruning. We also have a similar barn behind a barbeque are a that we are turning into a cuisine ete; with sink and somewhere to flop
Sean's World has a YT video about copper pots etc and re-tinning. He gives the source info on where he goes to have his pots done. You can contact him, I'm sure he'd be happy to help with info.
Thanks got the copper pot tutorial! In the process of purchasing a French farmhouse/barn in the Loire Valley near Loches....so will be on the lookout for these! Happy you were able to catch Shadow and get him to the vet for treatment and surgery. He will be a much happier fellow! The boxwoods look great! heers!
Oh my goodness, my hands couldn't handle those heavy pots! I will take the lighter ones, they do a good job as well!. And thank you for taking care of the kitties! Cheers
Bless you for the update on the injured kitty. He has a better chance at life, neutered and tail procedure. Lincoln seems to roll with the flow, he is a keeper 🤗 love and hugs 🐾💖
Bonjour Amanda and Lincoln. Once again you saved another life. Thank you so, so much. I love the little hedgehog too. I do the same thing, I now have a wild pair of ducks living in my yard, they will remain until Fall and head out to where it is they go. I got an all-weather proof house from Amazon for the kitties I feed. I love your walled garden. I love that you guys take life as it comes, no pressure or timelines. Well done on the pot. Love from N.Y.
