So funny how Lincoln takes time to answer all you questions so patiently. Not to many men would do this.

That’s so sad:( I wish women wouldn’t reward so many men with marriage and s@x then! All men should be like Lincoln about such normal questions about work and life from their partner. Life without a shitty man is so much better than life with one!

The zinc bathtub after being reshaped and the decorative elements repaired deserves a new platform somewhere. If you have plans for a garden room or orangery with stone floor, it would be beautiful as a water feature. But the pair of you have great vision, so I am sure you will find the right spot! What a great find!!

Amazing the rabbit warren of old doors and wood materials you have to work with on your renovations. Loving your journey. If nothing else the bathtub would make a lovely planter for the outside of the cottage. Grow some herbs in it.Onward to spring in that garden.

I was dying when you asked if you should walk over there and Lincoln said, sure! I was saying, noooo don’t do it! That zinc bathtub is an amazing find. People were definitely a lot smaller 200 years ago. Your buildings have a million possibilities. They are beautiful and I love that you will reuse the paneling where you can. xx

I'm addicted to your show! My sister introduced me and I am binge-watching past episodes. I love your humor and Lincoln's skills (I loved him walking to the woods with the baguette!!) I love your cats. My two sleep during the day and leave us to wander before their curfews at night. You may not need this BUT for catching your donkeys, I ride horses and what we do is walk to them with a treat and the lead rope over our shoulder. Once they are munching we drape the rope over their neck. Then you grasp it at their neck and you have them and can slide on the halter. Your second donkey may be tricky because they may catch on. ;) *remember, I'm binge-watching so many comments here are unrelated to this episode. 😊

I love all the wood paneling in the attic barn.. opening to it to make a second bedroom is such a clever idea and keep the bathroom between the two bedroom. It s so funny to think that first you just wanted to create a quick and easy kitchen ...and now you are on track for a whole renovation project of the cottage....future gîte ? You should keep and reuse the old doors lincoln removed...there a so charming and free. Keep the budjet low

The other outbuilding that you went into is really nice with all of the wood paneling on the walls, the fireplace and all of the beam detailing.....so much potential!! You just need to put in a nice staircase to access it. Future job!! LOL!! The unpainted paneling in the second cottage looks like it was once very grand. I wonder if it was once in the chateau and was cut down to use in the cottage when interior fashions changed. Great idea to add a second bedroom over the barn. Lincoln "looked handsome" right on cue! I really enjoy your sense of humor.

Your second cottage might be the most elegant storage room I have ever seen. I am glad your catdominium has a new resident. Your kitchen reno is turning into the "spider who swallowed the fly". Patience and fortitude is what you both must have to be able to calmly work, plan, and get things done. Lincoln was cranky? He seems to be the most calm and sweet man. He deserves to be cranky at times. As far as your stray cat population is concerned, I have to wonder if your neighbors know that you have a kind heart and will take care of their cast off and sometimes sick kitties. You have a RU-vid channel, so it’s no big secret where to bring their strays or personal cats. I think that you’re going to have to remodel one of the cottages and turn it into a cat hostel. LOL!

A little trick I came up with to make those wooden garden edges look really elegant is to paint them black, a good solid black. It's amazing what a difference that makes. I've had to do it when they're already in the ground, but of course, it's much easier to paint them first before laying them. I can send a photo if you're interested to see how it looks. No other colour works as well. I know you don't want any other projects, so I understand you might not want to. Still, it also has the benefit of making them last longer. I've painted treated and untreated wood. The cottage is going to be pretty wonderful! If you're making two rooms up there, are you going to make it two bathrooms as well? Kinda nice when everyone has their own bathroom.

You will very likley have lead based paint on the woodwork. You may find that an IR paint stripper would be handy and then you wont need to use any chemicals to remove the old paint. My wife and I used an electric coil paint stripper to do the entire outside of our 1930's Seattle home that would not take any more coats of paint. after priming w/ oil base primer it still looks great now since done in 1987...
