I don’t count turns. Pull the trigger and hold it. Now turn the knob until it stops. Your fluid is now wide open. Otherwise, you’re choking the gun off.
I do the count method because I like to adjust the spray gun depending on the kind of clear coat iam spraying. That helps me keep track of the fluid output depending on the viscosity of the clear coat.
@@J.Lulo_ I’ve set up guns that way for 30+ years, without issue. Comes down to spray technique also. So many painters don’t realize the distance they should be from the panel for perfect atomization. Most I see are too far out and creates issues with runs. You must perfect your technique with the guns you use and determine the distance from the panel and how fast or slow you need to move. Not a fan of DV1 because it’s too slow for my liking. I can spray with them, but just comes down to personal preference and what feels best for me.
Just the information i was looking for. I have to repaint my front bumper lip/spoiler and i just can not be bothered to remove it from the bumper. (It is clipped and taped on) Very clear instructions, thank you for the video!
Thank you 🙏 for the support triggerman I appreciate it. You have some pretty good videos yourself. I will definitely be subscribing to your channel as well.
I found this video in my archives and figured why not post it. There might be some new subscribers that haven’t seen some of my older videos and maybe this one will motivate them to check them out. I wish all my subscribers were as supportive as you. I appreciate you brother.
Thank you for taking the time to make detailed instructional videos like this with your techniques. This is very helpful for the average DIYer. You are appreciated
It’s definitely not easy but when you have the right skills, resources and tools it’s “easier” than if you didn’t have it. It’s still hard work but somebody’s gotta do it.
Good video… especially for me because we never used a mixing system, we mainly use single stage paint white or red fleet vehicles so we just order the paint already mixed and spray.. but I recently quit that job, so I need to learn how to use this mixing system for my next job. Thanks again. Can I hit u up for some advice? Do you have a IG? 👍
Thank you 🙏 for the kind words I appreciate it. And yes can ask me for advice anytime you want. Iam here to help. Yes I have IG but I don’t spend a lot of time on IG but if you have questions just hit me up here on RU-vid. Here’s my instagram if you want to go there to DM instagram.com/j.lulo?igsh=OHkycGl6b2Y4YzVp&
I know im late to see this video but im about to paint my 2009 navigator that same color code ug i have to paint the front and back bumper also i want most of the chrome the same color should i paint the whole car ,whats the best procedure for me
I was always wondering what "blending" means and how it's being done🤔 Looks clear now, good lesson for me, time to spray my own bumper instead of paying $$$. Thanks! 💪
Say for instance I’m spray a 2k high build primer that has a 1:1 mix ratio of primer and activator. If I wanted to reduce it 5% to ease with spraying, how would I do that?
I would just use my best judgment. Add a little bit at a time until you reach the consistency you are trying to achieve. Just don’t add too much because you don’t want to water it down too much. Remember it’s supposed to be high build primer to fill body filler properly.
Some people are good at matching paint, but my skill is less common. I've been doing it for 20 years, so I can look at most colors and know what's in it without a recipe. I brush-touch cars, and it's a whole bunch faster when you can grab your toners and just start match right now. Most colors only take 10mins to mix, adjust and start touching. It's my only real superpower.
I’ve sprayed PPG ENVIROBASE it does have good color match but the Spies/Heckers system has a pretty good color match as well. I’ve sprayed a couple of water Bourne systems, but I still prefer to spray solvent based paint. I guess iam just old school. lol 😂.
