If you put the A/C in the front of the box over the cab it would just look like a refrigerated carrier. Don't know how you'd disguise windows and door.
the challenge is that you cant have the fan blade on the mini split exposed to freeway wind speeds. It literally shatters them. had it happen to a friend.. so you would need come type of cover to shield it form the wind
I have to agree with Monoshock, I was thinking the same thing when watching this video. Your explanations were solid, and I almost felt as though I were there when you were talking. Best review by far of Burning Man. I'd love to go, and just experience the freedom of it all. Your video could be used as a promo for this event. Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to show us something we may not get a chance to see.
Btw, I’m looking forward to your vision of a new rig. This is the kind of stuff I come here for. I’m sure you’ve talked to several folks who have this style of platform and have gotten some great info. And as far as your rig, I don’t see why you couldn’t get $30,000 to $40,000 for it seeing what I see on different sites. Is the shower situation a deal breaker? Probably for some but not everyone. Looking forward to Nomad Brad rig V? Jay.
Keep doing what you’re doing my man. Are there some videos I like better than others? Yes. But your channel is Nomad Brad. You do nomad videos along with build content. I like the variety. Jay.
Nice video man! Wish I would have seen ya there! The thing that made me finally build my box truck, was my first yr at burningman lol. Glad ya had a good time!! It's a life changing event for alot of us.
I absolutely Love my 2000 Isuzu FRR 7.8 diesel. Side door with a back lift and roll up door for my motorcycles. In a box truck Nobody ever looks at you twice, ever! The tilt cab is exactly what you said , instant access to the motor and trans. If you can buy one of the newly declared calif. illegal diesels and register it in Yuma, 'no smog cert needed by the way' you save thousands.
Mission Valley Ford is down the street from you and appears may have 38k mi 2016 NQR- 16 ft box, lift gate. No rear deck ladder. Last year I wanted to do this, I was very successful talking down their price, but worried that my custom pass-thru design (cab to box) was going to be unsafe. Still looking for safe way to have my design retract when truck's in motion. Hey last year I parked with my Nomad Internet, behind the Planet Fitness (200 yards from you) it's next to the huge Verizon cell tower. Same parking lot, last year, that Banana Leaf restaurant - outrageously cute waitresses and Super nice Won Ton appetizer and have the tea of the day or their yummy Daiquiri
Maybe do a livestream while doing a install but not really talk to camera unless taking a break. I think people like to watch those type. Just a suggestion.
Don't get the diesel. Everything costs twice as much and real world mpg is more like 12mpg. The same npr is available (usually even cheaper) with a good ole chevy ls 6.0 motor. Mpg will be 8-9 but maintenance and engine work will be much easier than the diesel. You would have to drive 100k a year to see savings. Also you can get a new 6.0 motor and trans installed for about 4 times cheaper than the price to replace that diesel.
Not wanting to speak out of turn and maybe I’m wrong but if you’re referring to his newer rig with a 7.3l engine comment he’s referring to the 7.3l Godzilla engine. Which is a gas engine.
@@jaystewart9947 he was talking about the isuzu npr which comes with the 5.something diesel he mentioned or the chevy ls 6.0 gas motor. If going with the ford chassis the 7.3 godzilla is an excellent choice.
Rolling down to PB... Just taking a rest south of Sacramento... It's 7:30pm and 95 degrees.. should have hung out on Oregon longer.. heat wave in October 😢..
Good video. Three minutes in, when you note what the apartment you had in 2009 costs today per month? That apartment costs WAY more now because of INFLATION, which was brought upon us all by DEMOCRAT POLICIES OF JOE BIDEN. Including his fiscal policies, which have resulted in massive deficit spending, and his ENERGY policies, which have constricted Supply in the face of increasing Demand. Every product in America is transported by rail, or truck, or ship, or planes. Trains, trucks, and ships use DIESEL FUEL. Jet airplanes use JP4 airplane fuel, which is a 50-50 kerosene gasoline blend. That same apartment should be renting for somewhere near what you once paid. A little more now, but not much more now. JOE BIDEN GAVE YOU THIS, AMERICA. You can deny it and lie to yourself if you want to, but that is the stone cold truth of the affair.
Hey Lori! Here is my video review for the e-bike. There is a link in the video description Best Folding Van Life Ebike fits on my passenger seat !
Honestly, there's probably close to 1 million people in the USA who are HOUSELESS. After 3yrs in my suv I've been blessed with section 8 housing. It's comparable to 'probation type mentality' in having a Government Program Rule your life, but I am grateful for the shelter with my health condition and having better access to health care..
Great video Brad, quick question on box trucks incase u get stranded like a flat or something. Box trucks. Don't have a spare or a jack. How do you manage in an emergency? Especially in middle of nowhere etc.... thank you Brad
I blew out a tire in the middle of Texas last year. Check out this video and all your questions will be answered Fixing my van on the highway | Roadside repairs ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7vNj4p2EC4I.html
This is so odd to see, but I guess it makes sense. I'm a bit older and bought my first house in 2002 for $136k. Working steadily, by 2018 I still owed $92k because I started off with an HOA loan that added mortgage insurance, but there was an influx of people from California that drove up home prices. I was able to hire a builder and build a new home for $260k and sell the old one for $335k. Ended up with a new 30 year loan on $45k, so my house payment is like $215/month. I think it was all timing. Anyone looking for a first home now can't be in good shape because of those prices that were driven up. Think of that increase. $136K to being worth $335K 16 years later. I do feel it's too much even though I benefitted. Kinda sad for our younger generation. My 32 year old son still lives with us and can't find anything.
Congratulations on this video! I've been watching you from Hungary for quite some time now. Your videos are getting better and better, I'm glad that you record them from such a scripted, multi-camera point of view. It is also very good that you show nature. It's good that you show what you do one day. The search for a place is also a good topic, which would be nice to see several times as you set off to another place, you know, you are hiking, or you are working, making dinner, etc. So overall, your videos are getting better and better and I really like them, keep it up!
Thanks Brad for sharing “a day in the life” at Palo Alto, Ca. Some naysayers here but they’re just talking heads behind a keyboard. Some chastise you for being something you’re not but at the same time type 4 paragraphs about what all they’ve “done” and actually being what they accused you of. 🙄 anyway, thanks for doing and being you.
The news makes it sounds like California was on lock down for the homeless. Nice to see otherwise. The RV with the flat tire had auto-inflating tires. The hoses inside the rim attach to the needle valve on the tire. When they start the RV it will air up if it hasn't come off the rim. Nice video!
I’ve ridden my regular pedal bicycle nearly 20,000 miles including going up dozens of mountain passes and I never needed an electric motor or any kind of mechanical assistance other than paddling. So I’m wondering why some guy does a 5 mile bicycle trip on a pretty flat trail, why he needs a motor? Most people I meet who are riding an electric bicycle tell me “oh I just use the motor for hills.“ But they will tell me that while they’re riding around the city that is entirely flat with no hills and they are buzzing along at 28 mphin bicycle zones where the speed limit is 10 mph, go figure I think maybe some people would much rather have a motorcycle, but they just don’t want to go to the hassle and expensive getting a motorcycle and getting a motorcycle license.
