Living on the streets of San Jose, California + Tiny Fest 

I love Alviso. I lived in the South Bay in the 90's Milpitas California. & would go to Alviso Park at times. I attended church not far from there on 1st street in San Jose. You triggered great memories from my past. Thanks for sharing.

"Tiny homes" for $150k make no sense to me. We've had tiny homes for decades, they're called mobile homes. You can buy an older one for less than $10k put another $10k into rehab and you have a nice home for $20k-ish.

I grew-up in Silicon Valley and Alviso was a frequently flooded neighborhood town that we made fun of. So fun in the 70s and 80s running my dirt bikes all across the mud-flats raising hell. That Marina that you're in with the Portal walk-way out into the now heavily Reed marsh - my Dad and I used to launch the boat there and voyage for the weekend, stop-off in Napa, then all the way to Stockton, fishing for Striped Bass & Sturgeon. Last year I Nomad'd my way into retirement and left Santa Clara for San Diego and Yuma (so far), but Alviso - Milpitas are still a great place to play. I know you're all about the stealth parking but I want to buy an Alviso warehouse biz and provide inside parking and repair build-outs to the MANY very highly stealthy - they just need a place to climb the ladder to their roof and install/repair their solar. Hey, if you've got a day, just G Map 1 mile East to the Don Edwards Wildlife Reserve. I used to work-out there, high speed on my trail bike - no traffic lights on the levee system. *If you're brave, go do a video, bike or walk along the Cal Train rail levee all the way to the Ghost town of Drawbridge. I did this several times. There's a wikipedia of Drawbridge California to describe and several RU-vid drone visits. I worked my tail-off in Silicon Valley, but so many fun interesting places as well

When I was a kid the salt flats were a natural thing to see. A lot of salt was produced here back then. You could always see a mountain of salt by the production facility near the San Mateo Bridge.

I was born and raised in Monterey Bay, just south of San Jose. I don't know if you're still in Central Cal, but you may want to go check out Monterey. It's a place unlike any other IMO. 👍😉

Accessory Dwelling Units are a huge think in CA because of house shortages. They can range from a studio with no utilities to 2br/2ba homes, depending on municipality.

I just subscribed as I plan to start reviewing your videos; there may be some good ideas there about my own potential future abode. I plan to retire next year, with a bit of reduced pension, and always loved the concept of tiny living, though I think it would take me a bit to get used to driving about. If you have ever been in Toronto and seen the size of newer apartments, trust me, there would not be much downsizing I would have to do:) Looking forward to seeing some of your past videos and am glad this popped up as a recommendation tonight.

not that people want to talk about it, but i wonder, you still have no bathroom in your box so are you in a constant state of constipation and dehydration? i would think first thing when you wake is you take a piss and then if you're a coffee drinker you tend to take your coffee dump as my coffee drinker friends like to share (tmi). still like your overall design, but for me it'd have to have at least toilet facilities if not a shower shitter combo maybe towards the back of the box.

Brad, the signs at Alviso clearly prohibit going down to the salt flat. It's a migratory bird breeding ground, a national wildlife refuge, and you set a bad example.

I’m curious to see how these various lawsuits about the homeless suing the communities for not providing adequate programs and shelters is going to work out in Portland where they’re now arresting people for being homeless, the programs do not exist to house them. With California’s new reprieve on their band I’m wondering how long that will last as well.

Hi Brad. I've really enjoyed watching your content. I wonder if you could recommend a builder for me. I live in Pasadena CA. I have a 16' box chevy savana 3500. I took it to some 'builders' who stripped it and took my money then said they could not complete the job, so my plans need to be scaled back. I want to boondock though and must have a shower and basic kitchen. Thanks Courtney

WARNING to Californian vehicle nomad & ALL vehicle nomad! REMEMBER the Supreme Court ruling about parking & tent camping in cities, urban, suburban & beach towns in 50 states in the USA. Security guards/ police / residents in that area can ask you to leave if they “ feel” you’re parking encampment in their area. So be careful doing these RU-vid video about “ great places to park overnight in California or any state”. So far the only safe place to park is public land in rural area

Nice colors on the video. Have you ran into anyone being affected by California's new homeless laws after the Supreme Court ruling. I saw the mayor of Los Angeles talking about clearing oversized RV's off the streets. By watching your videos it seems you have to keep moving and not draw attention. Seems interesting.
