Some say if the wind is mildly blowin, the moon is real bright early morning is just right, you can hear Greenie and Danny still bouncing licks off the stars........
Most people listening to this epic version, and looking for a video of Rattlesnake Shake, probably already know there is precious little video of Peter Green's FM anywhere, and they know about these much shorter clips too. AFAIK this is all there is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0FJ17x0IoKs.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rrVB6NWHCSI.html Do not forget the rhythm section! McVie plays one note forever, but he's grooving, Mick too.
Amazed that there are only 70 comments on 75K views. This is Rice pushing his incomparable vocals and driving the hottest flatpack bluegrass many of us have heard or will ever hear. Thank you Tony, Wyatt, Jimmy Gaudreau, Ricky and Ronnie Simpkins. Very grateful to have seen you all together during this time! Pure smoke and fire!
This is the best recorded example of Bass and Drums in this band that I have ever heard, some crafty Audio Engineer decided to push up the base and Drums as a gift to future listeners. Thank you, hip Audio Engineer in 1973!
I was the promoter who did this show...was actually KVHW's 5th 6th and 7th or so shows ever....was supposed to be two on Friday Dec 5th and Sat 6th but the boys had two nights off before Seattle so played last minute show announce at setbreak Saturday night and even a decent crowd showed for that last Sunday Dec 7th show as well and I gave all the door to them so would cover some expenses on tour.... Good times.....long live KVHW !!!
I was 14 and my parents drug me to this old person thing. Didn't know any of them including Jerry Garcia. Now that I'm older and wiser I'm grateful to hear it again.
This has an audience source mixed it and it's not a straight audience recording, it's mostly the SBD source and it's pretty obvious. Happy 50th anniversary, though! This is one of my favorite shows ever.
Как интересно - ролик выложили еще 11 лет назад, а я только сейчас его увидел и оставлю комментарий. Отличный альбом и в этом есть часть нашей молодости!
Gram had great respect for Emmylou; she was going to be on the next album cover with him. Remember that he was married and was also depressed and addicted in his last few years of life. Could it have ended happily if he'd survived that terrible night? We could wish but just don't know. IMO he was terribly damaged by his childhood losses.
Didn't he overdose the next day. Feel sure he died in 79. Devastating blow and makes lyrics like fat man seem prophetic. He was writing his life of tricking, doping, and hustling and most people don't know bc they don't get the slang of dimes, lines, speedball etc. I wasn't even born but his genius has shaped my musical life.
