I don't think it's really about language. I mean I am not perfect in Turkish, and I made a lot more friends when I lived there. I am at an intermediate level there, as well.

I’m based in New York city I am an East Asian sometimes Eurasian looking woman but I’m indigenous Filipino and it really gets me when I see a hugely non attractive white dude and a gorgeous Asian woman and on top of that the Asian woman looks at me as if I’m gonna steal their man. Get along with all ethnicities 8 Malaysian - if they are from KL they are from a futuristic city in the jungle. Many of them are muslims but some are christians, Good kabobs 8.5- Mongolian - tie breaker for Thai , Highly educated, good English, more tactical like a Chinese, more attractive than Thai 9 Thai - party Asian best food overall modern trains hospitals and shopping malls, lots of tourist from UK and India come here 10 Vietnamese - war torn country with beautiful beaches, US dollars goes the furthest , hard working and drives a lexus. very family oriented but also sensitive and can be as toxic as a Latina 11 Japanese - country is on economic downturn but previously rich and has good style . Most likely want a rich white guy or black guy who is an athlete 12 Korean-country is on economic upturn previously poor. Has good style, love to party and has expensive taste, most attractive asian out there. However many want a rich white guy or black guy who is both an athlete and also owns a business
as someone who studies different languages i’ve noticed most derogatory insults to be .. sexist. and towards women for the most part :/ or the male counterparts to not have the same impact
Watching this our pf curiosity. About the "oppa" perspective: instinctively, I too disliked this term. I don't sprak Korean, I watch K-vlogs and K-dramas , and when this word came up... Something in me shuddered. So I feel Kelsey on this, without any experience eith Korean people, just hearing the word and seeing it used in context.
Always a mistake if you enter a culture hoping to be accepted. Best to travel as an outsider, enjoy the trip, but not the trick of thinking you are Korean. I have lived in several places, and overtime, you always realize you ain't one of them, and likely, they figured this out sooner than you did.
I’m sorry but all they want is our money and such. They make off other cultures I would never go to Korea. Thank goodness I’m a metal head I don’t like k pop.
Kelsey, i have the same problem 😭 i had a bf for 7 months and only gave him two quick pecks on the lips during the whole relationship. I felt like kissing was way more intimate and difficult than sex, so we kind of just never kissed. But im gonna do my best with the next guy, hopefully he can teach me how to kiss 🤷♀️
