They could pop the hood, install the normal relay, and then start the car…. But I do think this is a nice cheap option and may cause enough delay for the thieves to move on.
Installing a kill switch for the fuel pump seems like a really bad idea to me. It could get flipped while driving, resulting in a loss of power at a critical moment.
I built a kill switch that shot fluid at the drivers seat and popped smoke under the seat when activating start in off position. Just so they knew something was wack. Not really but would have been cool.
Back in the day I had a VW beetle that you could basically start with a screwdriver. Used to pop the distributor cap and take the rotor arm with me when I left it anywhere.
Under the hood yes, unless you put a bunch of effort into it. Car thieves aren't going to open the hood in order to see if anybody has messed with the relay unless it's a very expensive car and they don't care about being seen.
I get very creative with my kill switches. You'll never know what I did or where I placed the switch. Sometimes I forget myself on different cars. I have to call my customers and ask them where I placed it or rigged it to.. 🤦🏽♂️
I never did that or use a kill switch. I just pull the master rely and call it a night. When I wanted to drive it. I just go plug the rely. That rely saved me from waking up and not seeing my car on so many times.
I thought that this would be simple and less a headache if I had a drop i , well I wont advise any one to buy this. It has been three weeks since I bought this and still no switch! It is a scam! No phone number no email address ! No customer service. I have warned you they got my $98.00 dollars but I was going to buy two more for my truc and my extra car ! I was bit once but I learned the hard way! God will get them!
Isn't it easy to bypass the relay? I mean fuel pump relays are normally open, if you remove the relay and put wire on the NO contacts it should start. Right?
I paid for the kill switc over a wee k ago I still have no notificaton it was sent but they took my money! I think this might be a scam and there is no way to get a hold of them ! You cant call about or text about status very poor customer service!
Thieves already have spare relays, and even basic spare wiring 😅 sometimes they have even specific hacked ECU with them (when they have a order on a specific car) 😮
I preferred my brothers system where you had to go under the hood to reset the system. If you are getting car jacked they will see you flip the switch and know where it is to turn the car back on.
or just get a tesla. how they gonna start the car? reverse engineer the software? bypass several security points one of which is 2 factor authentication with your phone. oops, no phone-o, no start-o.
That is NOT a microswitch. A microswitch is a specific type of switch, and size doesn't actually have anything to do with the physical size of the switch. That's a toggle switch, by the way.
I installed a secret momentary switch on Cobtra that triggers a 250 amp relay that is hidden. Whem that switch is triggered, only cooling fans will run
if you put the key in the ignition.. Your warranty is void in most cars. Factory condition is un-started and most warranties name factory condition. So technically starting the engine voids the warranty in most cases. They just repair your car because its bad customer service to refuse.
