I travel a lot. On this channel I'm gonna share my adventures with you. My name is Johannes and in 2021 I left my country of birth, in search of fortune and fame. My girlfriend Denise will join us for most of the adventures, but don't worry, she's hilarious.
Hey there, I'm 7 minutes into the video and really feel the need to point out some significant misunderstandings: By Austrian law, if someone takes a picture of you and you believe it threatens your personal interests (for example, a RU-vidr publishing and commenting on your work performance), you have the right to request its deletion. At 3:50, you directly filmed the face of your waiter. I understand that in places where live-streaming and social media are more common, this might be normal. However, in Austria, it's considered one of the most disrespectful things you can do in a restaurant. Here, waiters are seen less as entertainers (as they might be in the USA) or servants (as in some Eastern cultures), and more like butlers. Butlers are usually professional and typically won't tolerate disrespect. This may explain why the waiter placed all the drinks on one side of the table, signaling, "You serve yourselves." The service wasn’t great, though. Tourist-heavy restaurants often have the most jaded waitstaff in Vienna. His way of carrying the water (with his fingers instead of on a tray) was unprofessional. Remember, me pointing this out might threaten his personal interests according to Austrian law. At 5:38, in the "Schweizer Haus," you can clearly see the table in front of you becoming uncomfortable with being recorded-they even point it out to one another. One thing to know about "Schweizer Haus" is that their waiters are like the 'bloodhounds' of the Viennese service industry. I can tell you stories of fistfights and staff banding together to physically remove guests. When they see you, surely a nice couple, recording the people around you, they won’t care about giving you the worst service imaginable. They’re simply not taking you seriously at that point. I understand you were uncomfortable in that situation, but it's important to know that Austrian service culture expects mutual respect. From their perspective, the camera made you appear disrespectful, so they didn’t feel obliged to serve you properly. Viennese service can be unprofessional when it comes to handling misunderstandings. We have a distinct way of life here. Vienna is a stronghold of socialism, rooted in a large working-class history (the lowest vote share for the socialist party was still 39.2% in 1999!). The working class shaped our mindset in the service culture-many of us were taught that to be part of a functioning society, you must be efficient yourself, which often means adapting out of respect for the work being done for oneself. I’m genuinely sorry that Austria didn’t live up to your expectations, but I encourage you to embrace the local culture when you travel and truly are interested in that place. That’s the best way to fully experience the essence of the places you visit.
Dont forget : this city was destroyed in 90 % in war time . Remember that place with the little flower shops? There's still a bunker underground. In the last days of the war, about 600-800 German civilians died there. During the bombing, a water pipe burst and those people drowned.
ive got my 4th stopover booked with etihad. never had any issue. its a great way off breaking up a holiday. and possibly the best way to see another city. there is a upgrade availabe to.

Austrians work their ass off in badly paid 12 hour day and night shifts jobs, and then the leftwing radical parties throwing 7200 euro a month to illegal refugee migrants. Who wouldnt be passive aggressive to foreigners and migrants.
You guys are very well travelled? I always try to say some basic words like hello and thank you in the local language of the place I've travelled to. It's just polite and respectful
I think it's changed now because I was looking into this and it shows the hotel options while you're searching, but before you've booked and paid! Otherwise I wouldn't do it
I was in Chiapas in 2001 working in san Cristobal and in Oventic. I stayed there for a while. Very kind lovely people in a low scale occupation warzone.
Should have looked after such videos like yours. Booked my flight to Tokyo with a two days stopover in Abu Dhabi. Everything worked well, even the hotel booking via Etihad Homepage (while booking the flight). Immediately received the flight confirmation and even the hotel booking reservation (we received your payment etc.). But until now, I still didn't receive a CONFIRMATION. The woman I had a call with confirmed to me, that the room is booked, but couldn't say why I didn't receive the confirmation. I just hope that it won't turn into a nightmare and i have to sleep on the road for two nights :D
Thanks for your video I will skip the FREE stopover bait. I'm flying Etihad from US to India/return with flight change stop at Abu Dhabi. If Etihad really give 2 free night stay, then they should allow travelers to check the hotel availability prior to booking the flight tickets. Nice trap to make pay Etihad more money to rebook tickets if no free accommodation found in hotels. No complains for Etihad flight experience which is great but only complaining about the free stopover bait.
