I use the BD Autoshield Duo needle where the needle is completely hidden and not visible. Works great for me as I’m unable to poke a needle if I “see” it. After use, the needle is safe to handle as it automatically covers the needle when released and presents no danger. Brilliant product! Hope that helps
I never believe I could get rid of my Diabetes disease not until I came across Dr IGUDIA RU-vid channel and after using his herbs medication that was the end of my Diabetes disease
Thank God for sending me Dr Mabosa on RU-vid to rescue me from PCOS of 12years and type 2 diabetes it was really hell for me but everything has change now with Dr Mabosa herbal medications...I'm grateful
I have started using insulin since one and a half month approximately. I had many questions and I want to thank you for making this video that has been very helpful to me. Blessings from Mauritius Island
I am horribly needle shy, shoot me! I use something cold from the fridge to essentially 'desensitize' the area I will be injecting. (I use water bottle, jello cup, pop bottle, that is cold/not too cold. An ice cube, as above suggested, probably works really good for numbing the site). But finding an area for injections is what I watched this video for. I'll be doing 365 injections a year UNLESS they change me to the 1xWkly, which is only 52 injections per year. (Yeah, a differ of 313 fewer injection sites; and 313 fewer shots!! In closing I want to thank you for this video. I found it extremely informative. Now excuse me while I open and enjoy my jello cup reward.
When a new needle is put on there is AIR IN THERE, I found as much as 6 units, so if you want 20 units, you only get 14 units if you do not fill the needle first, in this video they do NOT fill the needle!!!!!
Interesting. I just opened my last pen needle box and saw that the prescription for 9 more has already expired last month and was wondering what would I do if I had no more pen needles but have plenty of syringes. Now I know what to do in a pinch. Thankfully I see my new Endo next month so I'll have to remember to get a prescription for more pen needles. What I was doing was just buying the pen needles every 3 months since 100 of them last me 3 months (only need them once a day compared to syringes that I need 3 to 6 times a day), I think this time I'll just buy them once a month so that I have a stockpile of them.
I'm sorry that I'm saying this three years late, but when I was taught how to inject insulin, I was never told to hold the button when counting to 6 ((well, they said 10 for me)). So I'm assuming you don't have to.
There are other methods but even what is shown requires autoclave or incineration. Needles - regardless of containment are not allowed in landfills throughout Canada. Thankfully, diabetics can use a free service at BC pharmacies provided by the HPSA.
I just seen this video today and just started the long acting insulin 1 week ago. I am very thing as I am 54 5"8 121 lbs . So thin folks can get it to. The problem I have is there is no fat on me. I can not find a place to inject it with hurting bad. I also am needle phobic . Any ideas.
prowlie: What you're saying isn't true. Eating crap food does not cause Type 2 diabetes!! In fact, people who already have Type 2 but don't know it, crave sweets BECAUSE their bodies are not using insulin correctly. It's fun to make assumptions about overweight people and/or crappy food but take it from me, a Type 2 diabetic, once I got my blood sugar under control my cravings for sugar stopped.
DrummerGrrrl He’s not making an assumption, it’s a known fact. Type 2 can be hereditary i.e. genetic in nature but two of the most leading causes are lack of physical activity and nutrition. Eating “crap food” most definitely can and does lead to diabetes and is a more common cause than heredity.
You obviously are not educated on Diabetes. What about those with type 1 who also take insulin shots but their disease is not caused by eating junk food.
Great Video clip! Excuse me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard about - Carpio Incredible Diabetes Bulldozer (Sure I saw it on Google)? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my best friend Jordan after a lifetime of fighting said good bye to the diabetes with it.
It damages the pen, nothing happens to the insulin. Change in temperature would cause the pen to sweat insulin or accumulate air in the cartridge leading to incorrect dosing.
when u injected the insulin without insulin inside of it, u put air inside of ur abdomen. isnt that bad? i mean, it would be better if u would try it full and on a diabetic person if u aint one
