Hey there, my name's David and I've been playing the drums since I was a kid. I love everything about music and came here to learn and share. When time allows I'll play and record some songs of bands which inspire me. e.g Textures, TesseracT, Karnivool, Agent Fresco or The Ocean.
My band: glaston - www.glastonmusic.com (experimental/post rock) // Past bands: PURE INC, 69 Chambers, Netherbird. I'm a proud Swiss national endorser of TAMA, SABIAN and VATER.
I hope you'll enjoy my videos, please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
Not sure how this is only making it in to my life now but thank you. This is ridiculous. I love Steve Judd. Massively under appreciated drummer. And Vool. Well no words can describe how good they are. Well done. Insane.
Thanks SO much! I take great pride in taking my time picking the right heads and tuning the drums to the best of my abilities - took me ages to get it right :)
I absolutely love this song, and appreciate you doing a drum cover of it! Super nice mixing, and great chops. I'd love to see more where this came from;)
Thank you man! Next to the 2000s Bell Brass, the Starphonic Copper (14x7) is one of my favorite snare drums. It's super versatile with a unique sound and dynamic range. A rule of thumb I use for a cracking snare drum sound is that the resonance head should be tighter than you might think - but still not too tight, or else the snare-strings will loose their rattling effect and the overall tone may sound too compressed for my taste. This will require some trial and error - other than that, I've not used any secret ,ethods. Before a studio gig I like to apply new heads 1-2 days prior to the recording to get them "tuned in".
Hey David, could you please tell us the exact cymbals you're using in this video? Love the setup and I am currently switching from my Meinls to something else.
