I'm very proud to finally present you my drum cover of Regenesis by the amazing Textures. Textures are known for their fresh and unique style of metal music - very inspiring, just like their drummer Stef Broks.
Regenesis is one of my all time favorite songs and despite it's heaviness, very groovy and light to listen to - but holding a bittersweet complexity if you want to play it. Haven't seen many Regenesis drums covers on RU-vid, so I thought to do my own :)

Catrapazau Thanks man! That's a Tama Starphonic - one of the most versatile snaredrums I ever played :) had it brand new for this video, and I think it sounds even better in my new video (which I hope to upload in a week).

veeeery impressed ! you brought it to the point.. Like it pretty much. Especially the half-time-part; Very fluid and groovy. Sounds like a lot of work. But it was worth it ,-) You can be proud. I’m looking forward to more stuff from you. Go on. Great engineering job too. I guess the recording/mixing engineers managed it to catch the sound of your drum set … which is damn good.

Sick covers all round, I particularly love how tight you play to the groove compared to other skilled drummers. Oh and sick Karnivool shirt dude.

Thanks man, I always lay special focus on tightness and feel, and also rehearse accordingly. It's a bit more time and energy consuming, but if you're really into the song you won't mind :)

Very cool cover of one of their best songs so far ! Maybe you could improve your snare sound a little, focus on hitting right in the middle of the skin, and the quality of your rimshot :) a strong backbeat is sooo important to your general sound. Try to "push" the skin while you hit it, and stay a bit "in" the rim, does that make sense ? Keep it up man, cheers :)

This is extremely good. I've seen a ton of drum videos, including those of Troy Wright, Alex Rudinger and Travis Orbin and I have to say this is way up there in terms of production. Really, really good sound. You did a really, really good job. Loved the different camera angles and the fact you're obviously having a ton of fun. Looking forward to more drum covers, brother!
