With the spam parries, people block some hits without realising. in ng+ if you play without kuro's charm, you lose health if you block i.e. perfect parries only.. spam parries wont work here
For u who still don't get this right. The point is making monk slowly stepping back towards near the lamp stone and pillar behind while she do the stunned animation If she got close enough, than u can do the jump deathblow. I made it with additional ceremonial tanto for the firecrackers to make her close enough :D
Every attack i do is a full charged attack, even the beams. they stagger quicker. talismans to make it even better: 1. Axe talisman (enhance charge attacks), 2. green turtle talisman (recover stamina quicker so i can keep attacking), 3. Godfrey icon (increases charged spell and SKILL - beams stronger), 4. Shard of alexander (increases attack power of skill greatly). Mixed physic is important too.. i use the magic-shrouding cracked tear which increases magic attacks because the sword does magic damage. defo makes a difference. the other tear you can choose whatever.
That's no buff.. more like a handicap 😅 it means playing 'charmless' (without kuros charm). it's an option from new game plus. when you speak to kuro at the tower. enemies have more health and hit harder. most importantly, if you block, you lose health from chip damage. perfect parrying is the only way. ppl assume this is how fromsoft wanted the game to be played, but thought it would be way too hard. so it's available from ng+
it applies an extra damage buff so yeah. And an extra benefit is, when he blocks your attack, it still chips away at his health a bit. so yeah it helps. but i wouldn't use it if you have a limited amount. save it for headless. But its worth using in the gauntlet challenges or in the reflection mode.
OMG, actually not locking on the bull was the best cheese advice. I did it without firecrackers and apparently it does the main trick as somehow you can stay behind the bull easier with waaay less chance that he'll land an attack at you. Edit: the camera during this will always be crap as you don't see what you hit but you do hit the bull

you have to beat owl father and beat the game, then the gauntlet of strength challenge will unlock. it's a boss rush mode with inner isshin as the final boss.
yh jump deflect then dodge left. I was tryna show an easy way. and yes playing dlc. I was on holiday this weekend, so just started. got my butt handed to me from the first mini boss lol
Avoiding those attacks doesn't work at all, you either use mod for i-frames, or my sense of timing misses them, you either need to use mist raven or running around arena. I beat first phase by deflecting him, then just ran around and deflecting and using mortal blade
maybe half a second pause before the dodge. defo works. alternatively you can just wait for the double shuriken and slam attack and mortal draw after, then run away and repeat
no spells/incantations. its mostly the incantations that give you the good buffs and they're for faith builds. brass shield (medium shield with golden parry AoW bcz I parry a lot, guards 100% physical damage for me) Talismans: axe talisman, godfrey icon, shard of alexander, and green turtle talisman to recover stamina quicker. to make it even more powerful, use the 'magic shrouding cracked tear' in the mixed physic, it boosts the magic damage the sword does even more.
Good luck. This game rarely goes on sale. I waited a long time for it to go on sale so I could buy it on steam for mod version. I did get it, but it took forever.
For those who are having problem with the deadblow from above at phase 2, jump onto the tree and press L3 to crawl and then R3 to lock onto her, slightly move toward a bit and then jump, that's when it'll let you activate deadblow from above. Hope this'd help and goodluck👍
Thank you for the strat! One tip for anyone who is having trouble. I'm on NG+3 without Kuro's charm. Don't bother trying to dodge after the mortal draw. Just run back and wait for him to do another big attack and then hit him with mortal draw again. Just rinse and repeat until he's dead. You won't even get hit. I had a huge problem in NG+ trying to dodge his follow up swing. It ALWAYS hits me no matter when I dodge.
long spark firecrackers. Might be the 2nd or 3rd upgrade. I prefer it bcz the fire crackers come out instantly. the next upgrade has a delayed start which i don't like.
most of the times after i dodge the guy just follows up with a double slash and since it doesnt show when the double slash comes i always get hit trying to use mortal blade
make sure you're dodging behind him and not just to your left side. if your behind him, you're out of his sight and he usually stops attacking. Alternatively, you can just keep running away until he does his double shuriken and slam attack move, and then mortal draw him, run away and repeat. boring/long, but works.

All the different rankings of prosthetics go to show they are pretty balanced and serve to diversify playstyles in a game with only one weapon. Everyone can find a way to use their favourite prosthetic and there isnt one that is completely overpowered. I wish the game gave you more max spirit emblems however, since you run out of them pretty quickly.
