Videos on the stories of video games. Such as the "Story Explained" series that retells the stories of your favorite games simply and coherently, or even the "Story Reviews" that look at a game's story more critically.
I had a former friend like Ryuzo once. We both got along. But we both liked the same girl. She used to always want ro hangout with me. One day, she changed out of nowhere. So I blocked and deleted her number because of her bad attitude. Because of her still being friends with him, he somehow started hating me for no reason 🤷 I also blocked and deleted his number. Sometimes you think you have friends until they turn on you out of nowhere.
on Queen Lothric: I think she's the Shrine Handmaid, from the Hidden Blessing's clue (a rare item, but the earliest lootable in the world is in the Untended Graves); "There is a grave in Lothric that sees no visitors, a dark place where rootless warriors rest. The Queen of Lothric alone cared to wish the poor souls good fortune." Her 'disappearance' referred to in the Divine Blessing could just be the shedding of her old identity after Oceiros went batty over Ocelotte. It also explains why the Handmaid is the only one who seems bound to Firelink, even in it's darkened state (also a place not far from Lothric Castle, in either iteration). She made her purpose to watch over the graveyard and provide the dead with "good fortune" by being a useful vendor, and her implied divinity as a "goddess of bounty" kept her from going hollow much longer than Andre, and even the Firekeeper. She's also the only non-Lord of Cinder with a 'throne' at the shrine. Everyone else uses rubble to sit or just stands, but she's the only one with an ornate chair. Covering most of her face with her hood also tells me she wants to stay unrecognized by any former subjects.
Kinda of a bummer the quest tapers because it has skme legit strong characters. Nick Valentine is maybe my favourite companion across the games I've played (3, NV, 4), Hancock, MacCready and Cait all carry quite compelling stories and theres something super touching about Codsworth. The minutemen had POTENTIAL to be an insanely cool faction, an old-styled paramilitary group who want to help for thebsake of human kindness, being rebuilt from the ground up. Maxson and Father both had potential to be really coll characters too, and Danse gets a legitimately excellent quest The potential is there for something great (Also goodneighbour should have been WAY bigger)
i started to think that the "you want to ****" was save, cause maybe at that point, hes fallen so deeply in love that he wants to save her and bring her out of this
Your the best story explained that’s not some boring British dude that speaks ten sentences for one word. Concise to the point and no bs. For people complaining about the speed, smoke some weed and things will naturally slow down.
I spared Stanley because I figured having to live with himself was a punishment worse than death. Crazy how these fictional characters can make such real emotion
i know its really late, and there is no where to put it but.. ornstein isnt the storm drake. hes just ornstein. ornstein and smough can absorb eachothers soul, and more people like ornstein more than smough. so come ds2 with all the necromancy, etc, we notice "dragon knight armor" has a dark appearance, and so does dragonslayer (every change of ornsteins armor) its possible someone ressurected ornstein and made the mistake of ornstein having a back up soul.. smoughs. when fighting him in ds2 he also has the same aura/energy as the undead, dark purple like flames in combination with is lightning. come ds3 where theres even more necromancy in the dlc, we find ornstein again, with a more deathly look, a new weapon, and a shield. alot of people at this point think its just not ornstein anymore. its kind of smough and ornstein both in combination through necromancy, and the conflict of 2 souls in 1 body. at this point i think thats the last of ornstein (both from his appearances, and on lore) as i believe he is lost both physically, and mentally, and lore points to its just a husk of armor with no body. the body faded, but the souls lingered and took up the armor.
Dishonored is one of my absolute favorite series and I recently have been replaying so seeing this video was awesome. I fell in love with the world and narrative so much. Finding out Deathloop was "connected" months back was jarring and even now I still have a hard time trying to see how it will work. Oh well though I'm excited for anything in the future from Arkane Lyon and the immersive sim genre. Great video too man
Here from the future the new game plus did infact add several clarifications to the story. You can always look them all up, but one of the biggest ones is that it pretty much confirms door is saga’s father. We also learn a bit about how tor and odin made up with mr door.
I still haven't watched the entire video but from my first impressions. The text feels concise, statement after statement. Almost dry... And it's AMAZING. Jesus Christ, strike me if this video doesn't simply feel like a gulp of fresh water in the driest desert, that is filled with essayists who for the sake of 4 hour length, stretch out their video with words that almost resemble pointless poetry, repeated statements and useless, unamusing jokes and skits. I'm so tired of such videos, and judging only based on my first impressions, I may have finally found a safe haven in the category of long-videos.
This is the only the second game after San Andreas, i really got attached to. Man, the city, the characters, everything was just perfect. I really wanted judy to stay in nc. Jackie was perfect. This game is just so good. It's really great to see people appreciating the game after all this time. CDPR really deserves all the credit...
Still mad i made it to final fight of human revolution and i brought a eocket launcher, pistol, sniper and an ar i think. WITH NO AMMO, I COULDNT BEAT THE BOSS (thats what my kid brain thought but tbh idk if i could've) but i got screwed by my save games not having anything close to the end or where i can grab ammo 😢
Andrew let Jack kill him because his death was already settled, he already activated the self destruction mechanism and just wanted to prove Jack his lack of actual freedom. Also because of Atlas, Rapture was already done for, his entire life's work has been destroyed by Atlas in front of his eyes and if not being killed there, he eventually would have been taken down by Atlas's men anyway so he rather wanted to prove his point of him being a man and choosing the way of his death, while Jack being his opposite a sort of slave to Atlas
Important to note that in the MGSV Novel they say that after saving Venom Quiet self-immolates in the desert to prevent the parasite spreading. After the hours of playing with her as a buddy as well as the great scenes she has at mother base, this fact contextualized with her theme song is heartbreaking.
In Dishonored, I remenber killing Havelock because he was the only one alive at the end of my low chaos playtrought, i felt so cheated after their betrayal like i did everything i could to be as non lethal as possible i made sure i was not seen for the majority of the game only to be backstab by my allies, yeah i wanted blood and he was the only one i killed during my entire playtrought.
The Greeks loved tits and nudity also what else sold games back then to the nerd core? Tits and violence, I appreciate how much the new series changed this.
You need to fix your izalith part they weren’t consumed there’s proof in game that a large amount of time passed before they all begin to turn to demons and it was more willingly then against their will
I did pass it up. For completely different reasons. But now. Today. In the year 2024. I finally Forced myself to scratch it off my bucket list. I tried many many times. And always quit halfway. Not because it sucked. But I simply have too many primary games to devour my life. And sadly. It is a masterpiece. But very very lackluster in a few Major ways. First off, that is False. This is Far from a 40 hour game. The first very First playthrough beginning to end I have no doubt can be speed run in 4 hours or less. I was very disappointed at how incredibly tiny the world is. While stunning. Let’s not kid ourselves the world is extremely small. There are only a total of roughly 5 areas in all and each map is successively smaller than the other. Which quickly makes things an overly tedious matter of repetition. Literally embodying the proverbial hamster in a wheel. Running 5 areas in circles and circles and circles. And circles. In all it is indeed a masterpiece and an experience worth having at least once in total. All endings and achievements and all. But as a true lover of this universe I’m only motivated even more so to add critique because I want and expect even more from the things I enjoy. Rather than a handful of endings incentivizing replay value only to experience the aforementioned repetition as three main icons. Just two would have easily sufficed. The traditional “good” and “bad” combo with the second run being a seamless back to back perspective of 9 s and A2. There is honestly little to no reason to play an entire run as 9s seeing as a whopping 80% of all cutscenes are exactly the same as the first run with 2B. Only the most pivotal moments that show actual differences in perspective would have made the experience much more tolerable. With a “Free run” mode for those that just want to roam freely as specific characters to reach certain areas and items only they have access to for completions like myself. As substitute for a shortened replay they could have for the love of god made the game bigger. Almost grand theft auto / assassins creed like. With one seamless. Massive expanding world to get that true 40 hour content binge. Yes I copy pasted what I said on a different review in case a few words don’t make sense.
Baptisms typically use water, but The Pennant One baths in blood, like the blood and water that came from Jesus's side. He bears the specific crown of thorns upon his head, and he rose from the dead, revived. Interesting if he is meant to be a Jesus figure in it of himself. I like how the final lesson is that religion is a self-perpetuating sham. Kill god.
I will listen carefully. However I have the opposite opinion. I love the game, I fully understand what they were going on. and I also HATE this game with every fiver of my being for what they did to the story. Yes I am aware of the contradiction. Returnal could had been the ultimate cosmic horror piece of media ever done since Lovecraft. The whole abusive relationship thing is ok, but it ruined what could had been so much more profound, so much more deep, and most importantly. Universal. Just before the big big, second real twist; this game had managed to dig deep into my soul and awaken the cosmic dread in me. Then the second twist ruined it.... but it was subjective enough that I choose to ignore and keep my interpretation.... But the game is great. I could not stop playing. I mastered the tower, and by doing so.... I discovered this game was totally fucked. There is no room for interpretation once you 100%. A masterpiece ruined with the mundanity of paternal abuse.
Isidora's fight has to be one of the best, if not, the best fight in the game, at least in my opinion. I suffered like a little bitch when i faught her and yes, that no pause thing caught me of guard when i entered the battle, the fight itself was a surprise because i didn't know she was there.
idk why I have never thought about how funny it is that every supreme badass that thinks they are hardcore enough to crush demon ass in Boletaria gets there and immediately dies.
You lost so many hidden parts of the plot, im just commenting because your conclusions suck. First of all no one even mentions the word Pinocchio in the game Lies of P, the P does not mean Pinocchio dude, it means puppet. Pinocchio of course could be implied but the puppet is not fucking Pinocchio. Second, Gepetto never sees the puppet as his son thats why he doesn’t bother explaining that the portrait is actually him. One cool thing im gonna add is that anytime Gepetto talks about his son he is never talking to the puppet, for example Gepetto says “i hate to see my son in such danger, but i am sure you can do it” Gepetto sees the puppet only as something that looks a lot like his son so he hates seeing his beloved son covered in blood but he has no second thoughts in sending the puppet out to murder everyone. Is like seeing a clone of ur mom sucking my junk, it sucks because she looks like your mom but then you remember is not really her. You dig?
2:00:15 wait are you sure? I mostly play as Emily and i think if you eliminate both the duke and the double, the choice for a new duke falls to corvo. Ofc i also usually send both leaders to the mines, so the outcome is corvo as the new duke, with the help of hypatia and stilton 🤔
You lost me early into the video, i don’t think this is a typical tale of “humanity being greedy with technology” some puppets even evolved and developed their own ego and chose to love their human masters. Gepetto hijacked the grand covenant and he forced the puppets to do things they did not want to do. In this situation technology is not at fault, it’s humanity. The puppet king for example, even when he lost control of himself he was still trying to help us even after being corrupted the puppets wanted peace. I’m just saying
