That chapter with Luis is my most favourite in the remake. Its so fun and fighting those two gigante is so cool.

I always saw the one liners as way to cope for Leon with the messed up and over the top situation he's in. Besides it gave him a memorable personality

For those who don't know the operation krouser and leon were on as explained in game is where leon finds out ada is alive. There are a lot of inbetween stories capcom doesn't fully explain in the main games.

Leon being more serious and kinda traumatize by Racoon City is pretty refreshing and realistic. You can see his face its tired, his eyes are eveen much less inocent. It makes sense for his character and i am grateful for that.

I like the approach of Ashley but I died of laughter when i had to run from Mendez and a hoard of enemies and one of the axe throwing enemies missed me and whacked her in the head causing me to restart. Overall amazing remake with lots of funny moments.

Separate Ways is def coming - they wouldn't reference it in the last moments of the game if it wasn't and I believe they already confirmed some additional content. Loved the game! I will say I do miss some of the camp and silliness from the original but I still think it was great.

Still playing through it and enjoying it pretty much the same i did as a kid this is just so great

I hope Suzi is right and the U3 fight is saved for Ada's potential DLC, if they go that route at all. Using her hook shot to zip around the cages as they fall while U3 chases you sounds cool.

Personally I think the remake has a better story compared to the original. Don’t get me wrong both are great but the remake’s story feels more flushed out and not quick in and out moments. But that’s me.

Sadler was underutilized in the remake. Also, I know this isn't story related, but the original voice acting was way more enjoyable.

I think it somewhat makes sense that Separate Ways wasn't included at launch because it wasn't actually in the original release. Specifically, it wasn't in the GameCube version, the first version of the game. It was only introduced on the PS2 version and onwards.

I like how, even though the remake’s story is better, it doesn’t replace the OG. It’s fitting with the direction that the remakes (or to be more accurate, they are reimaginings as called by the devs originally). Yet the OG (from a story standpoint) still holds on its own in a different way. It has the pop-culture sort of type of stay with it’s one liners and weird characters

I swear no one can just admit that both games are masterpieces and they both do things better than the other.

I loled when Leon went to rescue Ashley on the island, the evil guys closed the camera and he actually called them Amateurs. He was just great, the perfect action hero. Now the remake has a different tone it is good and stuff but the original is just like a retro Chuck Norris movie. Dude is a badass and he just banters with the evil gods like they were bros and shit.

I have no doubt that we will be getting an Assignment Ada as DLC in the future. It is possible they are saving U-3 and even the other Verdugo who just goes MIA. U-3 is referred in some logs so it's not out of the picture.

RE4R was one of the games I was looking forward to at the beginning of this year, I had no idea it would be so damn good. I haven't been able to play anything but it since I got my hands on a copy. Hands down one of my favourite gaming experiences ever 💪 Great video dude!

U-3 was quite “out of the blue” in the original, but it did show just how far the Los Iluminados went experimenting on the pariste. The remake even has a file referencing U-3. I think it also helps connect RE4 with RE5 and the U-8 monster.

The story and characters are vastly improved in the remake, in my opinion. Except in one regard: Saddler. You barely feel his presence throughout the story, and he only appears near the end. In the original, even when he wasn't physically there, you could feel him watching over everything like a true puppet master. Plus, he looks like King Koopa from the Mario Bros. Movie now.

I think the reason leon isn’t fussed about ada is because he’s so done with everything he’s had to go through during re4.

Meh didn't really like the neutering of Leon, he felt so green in cutescenes like it was his first mission and the fact that krowser spent the whole game calling him rookie instead of them having the ex partner relationship didn't help, Ashley was obviously better and I enjoyed her relationship with Leon for the most part, fel like adaa and Leon not having the whole flirting thing going on kind of killed her involvement in the game as that's all she really had plus kind of made her seem less in control so I never really got the vibe she was actually doing anything in the background just following behind waiting for us to get everything done, luis I'm mixed on, I like that he gets more too do and honestly his character fits more of a nerdy scientist trying to be cool this time but his relationship with Leon sucks, I suppose this is more another problem I have with Leon but I hate that they never really become friends even though he's in the story way longer, Leon lighting his smokes before his death felt so holo when the whole game we was just bitching at him, sadlor was great love that he's treated like more of a threat, salazar not so much, him not having a back and forth with Leon kind of made me completely forget about him, it felt like he was barely there and just another boss too kill to get to the next area, big cheese basically didn't change so still pretty mid. Overall did enjoy the game and still am but not looking forward to see this Leon get carried through to later games

Ashley’s changes and development through the story are interesting as (don’t have high hopes for this but I’d rather an idea) is that with how much further re6 is set from 4 (about like 7 years?), it would be cool if Ashley is some sort of government agent. Doesn’t have to have a significant role, but at just one point, she assists Leon and there’s a short “whhaaaaaat” moment

Like both but OG just has better villian charm and just overall better UI and the sinplf stuff you know. Felt like the remake lacked alot in the smaller details

disagree with saddler being just as good as the original. in the original he's constantly pursuing Leon, trying to get his minions to kill him, eventually went on to kill Luis, and established himself as the main villain. saddler in the remake is shown through visions throughout most of the game and isn't physically seen till near the end of the game, he didn't feel like the main bad guy in the remake, just some guy you had to kill because he's the leader of the cult.

In my HONEST OPINION the only way I’d probably go back the og is for the goofy lines and funny moments, but other than that I feel like the remake just does everything better in a whole nother level. Story, level design, sound design, gameplay mechanics, characters, artwork, graphics, dialogue. Almost everything is better in the remake in my pov🤷🏾‍♂️but I’m not saying re4 is bad either, hell nah. But the remake is just better

Not only does it have a better written story, but the gameplay mechanic are superior to the original. This is the definitive version of playing RE4. Thank you to the original for all those great memories. This remake will now give us new memories

"separate ways was already in the original" My friend, what original? Sure as heck was not on the game cube release and that was the first time the game came out.... I wish people would research more before just ... Assuming that their experience was the de facto original.

Resident evil fans stay having nostalgia glasses anytime it comes to critique the og. A LOT of fans I’ve seen a online say the og is better in every way when they are just objectively wrong💀💀💀like I LOVE re4 but I can also admit when the remake does a lot of things better, and some things worse

Its a great remake, but the original still holds the candle for me, after I finish the remake I probably won't play the remake again. Don't get me wrong its all good but man the original is just still the best. There are some odd changes and the voice cast in the remake not so sure about that, the original had such icon voices for each character and they all had a distinct accent. Like Saddler, Krauser, Salazar. Now they're just generic in my opinion, except Salazar, which actually has a pretty good voice actor. Its no hate at all, just my opinion.

I do really enjoy this remake. It did a good job on a lot of things, including some very nice QoL changes, but story and tone wise I cant say its better to me. The tone and story are great, but I think Ill always enjoy the original a bit more.

I ended up finishing it an hour ago and I loved it, the original cheesy lines were iconic but I loved the story beat changes and basically all the changes. The combat is so smooth and using the knife is million times better the original. The boss fights are perfect and especially Krausers that entire fight was the best moment in the game. Parrying and dodging was super fun and it felt smooth and once I memorized It I felt like a ninja parrying was so satisfying, again krausers fight was so fuckin good. Controls took a bit to get used to but once I did it felt like butter everything felt so quick once I got it nailed down. I beat it on hardcore and it felt like a true challenge some parts were annoying but I loved the bosses I died a few time but it felt even more rewarding big cheese, salazar, Krauser perfect. I’m looking forward to NG+ so badly and playing it on professional. And as someone who loves resident evil lore seeing how Krauser was expanded on so much and felt like he had a true bond with Leon like a master and disciple, it was just perfect everything just felt so fleshed out and serious I loved it, and his death was done perfectly in the remake in the original it was laughable, Luis was also done so well and his death was done justice he went out like a badass. Overall I loved it I played the original about 2 times and I always thought it was okay but it was never my favourite (I love the ps1 trilogy the most) this remake was so done so well I can’t wait to dump more time into it. Hopefully code veronica gets this treatment next

I agree for the most part. I liked Ashley a lot in the remake. She was really scared at first, but gained more confidence and bravery then I ever could have had in that situation. You pointed out their little in game dialogues where Leon ask’s Ashley if she’s ok, but I also like when she sometimes asks Leon if he’s okay after a fight. If your health is high Leon will say it’s no problem, but if he’s hurt Ashley will notice and suggest taking a breaks. It’s sweet. I definitely felt their desperation when you as Leon have to stagger to Luis’s lab holding Ashley as you are just about to lose control. I actually kinda thought Ada was a bit better than I thought she was in the original. Her aloof nature and unwillingness to explain what’s going on makes her often seem like she had no emotions and a frustrating character, but towards the end of the game when she was helping more I started to like her. I feel for once like she was actually helping at times because she cared about Leon, not just because helping him was useful for her plans. And of course it seemed like at the end she wasn’t going to give the plagas to Wesker, but not sure how that would make sense given RE5. Maybe I just don’t remember, but he gets it anyway right?

I wouldn't call it better but different, both are really good and do their own thing very well, although I still prefer the original's Leon with the cocky personality and the one liners tbh I'm not much for overly serious stuff

Nerrel made a great point in one of his videos. With the RE4 HD project mod making the original on PC the definitive way to play, the stakes for the Remake couldn't possibly be lower. I think they did good with the Remake. I dislike some of the changes they made, but they do a lot of good to balance it out. I'll always prefer the original, but both work

I do like the lake part better in New game and having Luis around long awesome the knife awsome and Ashley not as annoying is cool.But cocky leon was funnier , missing some of the awesome hidden cutscenes. A big part at at the end of the village is gone with the cave and tramway and the choice to go to fight chainsaw sisters or el Gigante before heading to the big cheese cabin . I miss some of the quick time evens. The gore was more brutal in the original. Salazar fights better though. But I am enjoying this remake.

My issue with Ada at the end of the game is how she acts shocked when she's told that billions will die if she delivers the samples. If she really did care, she would have given up the G virus sample in the RE2 remake. So why have a conscious now? If there was some doubt in the previous game I would have accepted it but it seemed like there was no motivation for her to betray the organization and not deliver the Las Plagas samples.

Love the Remake but I will always love the original more. But I’m happy playing both.

Funny thing is I originally said Ashley is even more annoying now than she was. And thats true. She starts off really annoying. But overtime she grew and by the end of the game I actually really like her character and feel like I actually know her. Especially because her and Leon talk to each other. Remake made me realize how silent the original is. Even in cutscenes they barely talk and then Ashley asks him out. She doesn't even do that this time which is funny to me when half way through I was basically shipping them. As for the overall story, 4s story has never made sense. Leon wants to take Ashley home, before they know whats going on and that they've the plaga. Los Illuminados wants Ashley... to go home so they can take over America. So why don't they let Leon get Ashley home? Instead their plans to stop him lead him to the island where they remove the plaga, something that shouldn't even be possible in their facility in the original. Also the ganados attack Ashley or at least Leon so recklessly, they will kill her without a care, which fails their own mission. In the remake, I find the story to make even LESS sense. Unless its stated in a file or something, they never tell you what they want Ashley for. Mostly because you don't meet Saddler until the last bit of the game. Also the only way to remove the plaga is via the laser in Luis' lap in their facility. It now makes sense since we've a reason why it is there. But if they never chased Leon, and ruined his mission, wouldn't meet up with Luis ever again and ever had gotten the key to the lab. So they were their own undoing. Overall I like the gameplay of 4 more with some story beats, but prefer the original in terms of characters and story.

Story telling in remake is kind of silly: in the very first beginning, a random room in a random house, contains everything Leon needs to find hostage, even a big red cross on map, brainslug really made villagers into unprofessional kidnappers... In original game, Leon has to seek files from different locations along the way to put information together. It's lazy and dumbed down. Also, too much objects in game cells, but player can't interacts with vast majority of them, they're messy. What's the deal with those "fake" barrels?

It was already hinted that Leon knew Ada wasn't dead, he's not the gullible boy from RE2 he been to war, he been lied to and used , so hes a colder person, it makes sense he wouldn't care that Adas alive, plus we can assume he figured out that Ada gave him the rocket, no one else knew he was there, he still went to police academy its not impossible to assume, she had a grappling hook, plus their setting up the dlc for Ada , why give an after credit scene if they didn't they weren't going to remake the dlc and RE 5

Not played the game, but I've watched various "iconic" moments and I'm more for the original's story. 1. Ada's impact is a lot worse, unimpressive for the most part and doesn't carry the same charm. Like shooting Big Cheese through the window in the original was impactful despite a blurred sight of her. Ada's "betrayal" at the end wasn't nearly as good. Didn't hold Leon at gunpoint to take it from him, offered to give him a lift with the helicopter, like what? It's not even a betrayal like the original, which really added to her mysterious character. 2. Leon calling Krauser major made him sound like a little boy who lacked confidence. 3. Leon being held at knife point at the start of his knife fight with Krauser made him seem incompetent. 4. Ada shooting out Krauser's knife in the knife fight made sense because they were technically working together for Wesker. Luis shooting out the knife rather than shooting Krauser makes no sense. The remake isn't bad by any means, but I do find the original's story more appealing and captivating.

Graphics are better voice acting's worse story is jumbled

As much as I love the original Resident Evil 4, I tried to find a video explaining "the plot of resident evil 4 makes no sense" and this is the closest I could get. From kidnapping the president's daughter, to failing to keep her held from Leon, to using her to infiltrate the American government with plagas, from knowing where Ashley is and Washington not sending back-up or getting the Spanish government involved, none of the plot of RE4 makes any sense. It's a great game, gameplay wise, but the story is so nonsensical.

I think the elaboration to Leon's past and other characters is definitely nice but in 04 when I was playing this game....I think I enjoyed that one still more

Am I the only one who doesn't like the fact that they changed Ada's voice actress? I've been telling myself that 6 years have past and that's why her voice is changed. Still bugs me tho.

I do miss Leon's quips. He still has a few one liners but it kinda feels like a half step, it's strange seeing him act so serious 90% of the time then dropping the odd cheesy line. I feel like they should have just fully committed one way or the other.

The original feels… full and complete. The remake feels rushed. So much cut from the castle. Saddler feels like he was forgotten about and isn’t a villain at all. He doesn’t really do much in the remake. Everything hits better in the original. Obviously the remake flows with the recent remakes of 2 and 3. But I think it’s wild that we can say that a game from 20 still isn’t completely replaced by a game 20 years later.

Orginal is way better. The game play in the remake is good, but the Orginal is still hands down better in every other way. The voice acting, and Leon's laid back attitude was just better. They even removed ALL of Leon women jokes. Shame!

Hopefully they remake this remake in 20 years with Augmented Virtual Reality where we sleep in capsules and can feel everything as if we were there.

I would hardly call the story in the original a story lol. It just felt like they slapdashed random plot points without much thought. I love it, it's hilariously goofy, but remake does a fantastic job taking elements and combining them into a cohesive whole. Leon and Ashley feel like actual characters now, I genuinely felt sad for villagers and their backstory, Krauser's inclusion now makes way more sense than "cool knife fight old comrade dude", Luis is wonderful, etc.

I better you were happy to see that separate ways was indeed included later on.

The ORIGINAL WIN for Almost All Aspect only 1 Graphic cannot be compared.

I really liked what they did with Ashley and Luis in the story, the writing made the most of the time available and the chance to improve. Ada however feels like a step backwards, in the original she couldn't be trusted but she had charisma and seemed to respect Leon. In the remake she does still help Leon at times, but she makes no effort to hide from Leon that she's up to something and acts like he's still enough of a dope to fall for her manipulation again.

I'm pretty sure that Separate Ways will be paid DLC. Not only have some insiders leaked it, but Leon teased it in the end of the game. I think it'll be paid DLC unlike the confirmed free Mercenaries. Hope that they add the cut U-3 boss battle from the original and add it there. In my opinion, they turned the mid story of the original, to a fantastic one in the remake. The characters are all great. It feels like we're up against an actual cult. May be my favorite RE story.

But still they remove the boulders and the giant statue of salazar, what a shame.

The remake looks pretty but it feels like they sandblasted all the personality out of the game. Now it just looks and feels like every other RE Engine game without anything distinctive.

Remake is a fantastic game, I get they tried to go with more realistic approach, but hey whats realiatic about mutated villagers. II think they messed Ada, her scenes with Leon doesn't get to me, some very good cutscenes weren't included. It's still.a great game but I think it proves that the original is irreplaceable.

that's a shame as i still thing he should be cocky even if its a more serious tone some people cover nerves with jokes so maybe haveing him start off cocky as he is sure nothing can be as bad as racoon city then as he gets deeper into the game have his shell harden as he realises that this is actually just as bad if not worse than back then something he didnt think was possible, also ied say have him be more light and upbeat around others particular Ashly as he is trying to make sure they stay as calm as possible as lets face it this is a really terrifying situation, i mean just been kidnapped would be bad but then all this umbrella nonsense on top of that would be enough to make most lose their minds. basically on the outside he is like ""don't worry i got this"" or ""wow your ugly, when you were born did the dr salp your face by mistake?"" but on the inside he is like ""ok keep it together you can get out of this alive if your careful, now is no time to freak out it will only get you killed, remember your training.""

I will always love RE4, but in terms of story there’s really no contest: the remake blows it out of the water. The only thing I miss from the original was Leon’s über-sass, imo every other detail was improved in the remake Wait, except Ada. Really think they did her dirty in this one. Plus, hearing anybody else as Wesker just feels wrong, where’s that maniacal, nasally voice?

Remake is great, but I think the original is better and is still amazing today. **Spoilers** The new mine cart is way worse. Jumping off at the last second is just a cartoon. "Turn this way turn that way" over and over, flying 100 ft in the air, no close up fights. No U-3 boss fight. Worse voice acting, especially the helicopter pilot. The bugs attacking was way less dramatic. The sewer bug fight was way worse. The caves were way worse. Lots of cool sections of the castle removed like the Gallery fight was replaced with sitting at a table. Freeing Ashley from the wall restraints section removed. Getting to the castle was less dramatic. No villains taking over your comms. No ski lift section, lots of really cool moments cut with different content, but not really better. The dynamic difficulty balance in the 1st was way better. Very good, very fun, glad we have it, but I will still go back to replay the original more.

I agree with some points but I couldn't disagree more with many others. Luis is improved in the Remake, a good part of the credit goes to his voice actor, Capcom gave him a model that looks like a villain but the VA carries that role so hard that he sounds like the trustiest person in the world especially when he cares about Ashley. The OG Luis looked and sounded like he could be your best bro or the bastard that would backstab you and leave you to die, only when he died did you realize he was a bro. Also at no point in the OG was Luis stated to have worked on Umbrella that is a remake only part and on that part Remake Luis has a better and more expanded script. Ashley is also improved in the remake but I feel like people overestimate her and act like OG Ashley was the worse thing ever to the point that I got more game overs from Remake Ashley mechanics and Remake Ashley's yells are IMO more annoying than OG ones. In terms of VA I think they are toe to toe, might even edge a bit to OG Ashley's VA because of that sassy elitist personality she could pull, however Remake Ashley has a better script and way more interactions that give her a clear win. Krauser, well I think it's almost impossible to compare both because they are both two different characters, OG Krauser saw the power of T-Veronica in Operation Xavier, got injured and discharged because of it, Wesker offered to fix his arm and to work for him to change the world and Krauser went along with him. He assists Saddler to get the sample for Wesker. He also works alongside Ada but distrusts her. Remake Krauser is a PTSD edgelord who "died" with his men in Operation Xavier and instead decides to work for Saddler as nothing more than a machine, he also secretly wants Leon to put a end to his misery, no Wesker or Ada ties. The VA for OG Krauser totally owns that role while Remake Krauser sounds like a Edgelord and way too young for that model, it actually turns into a comedy with Krauser sounding so young with that edgy tone calling Leon rookie while Leon keeps calling him Major Krauser, it's like they realized how bad their interaction sounded so they added "Rookie" and "Major" to try to fix it but it ended up turning it worse. The scrips make it very hard to compare since they are so different but they are both OK OG has a Krauser that looks to the future while Remake has a Krauser that doesn't care about the future. OG Krauser wins this one because the OG VA simply stomps the living crap out of Remake. Ramon Salazar, well, yeah no difficulty in here OG Salazar stomps the living crap out of Remake Ramón, his interactions with Leon made a good part of the castle section, he starts composed but Leon kept getting under his skin to the point that in the end he was starting to losing it, on models Salazar looks what he is an small man that is an aristocrat, Ramon looks like a midget demented granny, I don't even want to try to understand what course of though led to that redesign. OG also plays a bigger role. Ada, yeah no brainer as well, OG flattens Remake as well, the VA of Remake is flat out horrible, say whatever you want about the party dress but that model had it charm something that I can't say about the remake that looked uninspired, the interactions between her and Leon are infinitely better in the OG, where it had less lines but more is said, Remake Ada comes across as a villain that is manipulating Leon and doing a terrible work as hiding it, part of the blame is on the VA other part is on the terrible script. Saddler, huh yeah, OG stomps again pretty hard, probably the worse one, in the original Saddler never saw Leon as an obstacle, he just saw him as another pawn since he was infected, knew nothing of the plagas and had no way to take it out, the only one he saw as a problem was Luis that he quickly went to intercept and take out, after he took him out it was just a matter of time until Leon and Ashley fell under his control, he even tells Leon he will make him his new right hand and Leon had no choice in it. It was only when he tried to subdue Leon in the final fight that he saw Leon had removed his plaga and he had a "Oh Shit!" moment. Remake Saddler however wanted Ashley away from Leon when he remote controlled her and wanted Leon dead when he had Ashley to shoot Leon but the gun jammed and instead of finishing the job he simply walked out of there. On VA, OG Saddler sounds like someone in control while Remake sounds like someone that walked out of an Asylum, although that is part of the script to blame, OG also has a bigger role and looks like a final boss, while Remake is barely in it. I prefer the OG model as Saddler looks like an ordinary cult leader but turns into a crazy monster and showcases it that he's more than it seems when he kills Luis. Remake is full monster. On Leon, the Remake one is comes across as an emo and an asshole, he goes from being an asshole to pretty much everyone to making random jokes, people say its to cover his insecurity, but it's not, he jokes because the original joked and if he didn't people would riot, even Ashley said he's no fun. The blame lies on the script because the VA did a great job on RE2R, this leaves us with a Leon that is a mess personality wise. The OG however is far superior Paul Mercier owns this role, the guy delivers his lines with full conviction and that's what made OG Leon so epic, his model also looks better, Remake looks good for most of the part but there are times were for some reason his eyebrows look like a Neanderthal very weird. People say OG Leon has a too perfect face but that is no excuse when you have Remake Ashley in there (and the model doesn't do justice to the girl, damn she's 15/10). OG Leon comes across as a way more mature person (ironic given the jokes) he still looks back to Raccoon city with pain when he mentions to Luis but doesn't let his life be dominated by it. In the Intro of the Remake I was certain at a certain part that I was gonna hear Linkin Park's Crawling while Leon narrates. Due to the changes both stories are different as well to the point both games are different games but you you have to pick which one has the superior story? OG wins, way better interactions on the OG (except for Ashley and Luis), weird stuff (Luis has a scar from surgery but the plaga is still removed by radiation? The house at the entrance of the village that has easier access has all the stuff about Ashley including a photo? Saddler wants Leon dead but lets him live?) the Remake is doing stuff because the OG did but doesn't understands why the OG did it in the first place and that shows like how Leon loses contact with Hunnigan because they jacked the line in the OG, but in the Remakes he simply loses signal and she only has signal at the end, but Leon can freely communicate with Ada and Luis so they didn't jacked the lines, but Luis and Ada have no contact despite Ada being Luis contact? What? Why? Because in the OG Luis never had a radio and Los Iluminados jacked the lines. Basically OG RE4 had a story that might not be the best one but it's like that for a reason, Remake is doing RE4 story without knowing why OG RE4 story was like that and suffers because of it.

About Ashley in remake is like Ashley more brave and more experience than OG Ashley which mean is not very make sense because she don't have any experience in combat or brave enough to fight the infected.

Yes Ada DLC is coming along with Mercenaries. If they overhauled the story for Leon she definitely will get more.

I'm sure separate ways is coming later as dlc given that Leon title drops it after you kill the last boss, and I'm expecting its going to be expanded upon and maybe include some epilogue stuff (that one is wishful thinking). My theory is we will see what happens to the other Verdugo, and they may have cut the experiment boss fight and given it to ada considering it is the only noticeable cut enemy and they may want to give her story more unique encounters. Idk it just seems like they held her back from the story on purpose rather than neglecting to expand on her. Just my two cents though

I get Ashley being useful for the continuation but why not have her do some useful stuff for the gameplay like looking for ammo for Leon spotting treasure and letting Leon know or spotting traps for Leon such as tripwire mines or bear traps to not make her feel like a waste of space

I don't like how they changed Leon and Ashley's hair they look way different.

Honestly would have just preferred if they updated the graphics and nothing else. While the remake is amazing. I personally preferred the cheesy humor and old voices with a nice fresh coat. Like the last of us, crisis core, and mw2 etc. Over the overly serious tone. Though I would definitely keep the new combat. It's a nice update to the tank controls and shows how Leon has improved in his training.

I know this isn't related to the story but the way they incorporated knives in this game is incredible especially in Krauser's boss fight, Capcom somehow made a great game even better.

I dunno it almost kinda seems like game companies are extending their advertising by releasing content weeks or even months apart from the release of the main game. It would make sense because the more people are interacting about the game whether positive or negative still feeds into more people finding out about the game in question and then potentially buying it for themselves. In other words leaving out content might not be a matter of efficiency in finalizing a product but a convoluted ploy to prolong the games name exposure in mainstream media to boost sales. Or maybe im just being a conspiracy theorist.

Just beat the remake and yeah...I didn't like it as much as I hoped. Dead space remake was a better remake (and game in general) imo. Solid game but probably a one time play from me. Really wasn't a fan of adding stealth, side quests, or crafting. They feel unnecessary but at least Ashley is more interesting. That's probably my favorite part of the game.

One tidbit you didn't mention is that while they removed the U3 fight, they still keep the bits of lore and research data and even refer to it as "U3" by name so it's a bit odd they cut that fight out entirely. I did enjoy the change they made to the minecart section though, but I wish they allowed you to use your own pistol considering the heavy nerfs they did to the Red 9 that they force you to use for that section for some reason.

The only that i'm not fond of is krauser's and ada's voice :( it's just not the same. Just my opinion
