Hi! I’m Deborah, 56, and I absolutely love sharing fashion, makeup, shopping, and lifestyle videos to help women over 50 feel chic, fabulous, and confident in their style. 💖
I’m married, with three wonderful children, three cats, and two dogs, and I’m always on the hunt for ways to stay stylish after 50-without breaking the bank! You’ll often find me shopping at my favorite spots like Kmart, Target, TK Maxx, Big W, H&M, Uniqlo, and Myer, wherever I can find the most on-trend and chic fashion on a budget. And I love sharing my discoveries with you!
I upload new videos every Saturday and Wednesday, and sometimes you’ll catch a bonus on Monday or a short on Friday (time allowing!). If you, too, love looking chic and on-trend after 40, 50, or at any age, and want to keep things elegant, then join our little community by hitting the subscribe button. I’d love to have you here, and don’t forget to introduce yourself-I’d love to get to know you, too!
🌟Thank you, Tania! 😊 So glad you enjoyed it all the way to the end-it’s quite a process working through the wardrobe, isn't it? Loved having you along for it! 😄💖
If you invest in few good quality jumpers, you would love it and make you feel good and you don’t have to throw them out. Kmart is the worst place to buy clothing. I hear d goods thing about their premium work out leggings which I got 2, was curious with generous pockets and must say they washed very well, but that was sometime ago.
Thank you, Vickie! That Corgi tea towel is such a cute find-hope you love it! 😊 I’m so sorry to hear about your stroke. I know it must be difficult, especially around the holidays when traditions like Christmas cooking mean so much. Sending you a big hug and all my love. 💖💖
Deborah I was wondering do you buy the same scent in candles and do you burn them ? I buy them and then feel they don’t smell as strong as I would like so maybe I need to get some from TK max on my next visit ❤ No I don’t do my Bedding in the Christmas theme either Deb so many beautiful decs there .
Great question, Belinda! 😊 I do like to try different scents, but I find myself coming back to the ones that feel cozy and festive during Christmas, otherwise I like fresh floral ones especially lemongrass or jasmine, my favourite brand is the Fumare brand but the DW Home I bought in this video are also fabulous, I find that they have a strong scent that fills my open office. So yes I do burn them, and I agree-it’s so nice when you find one with a strong enough scent to fill the room! TK Maxx has a lovely selection, so definitely worth a look next time you’re there. And yes, so many beautiful decorations to enjoy! 🎄💖
Thank you so much! 😊 I'm thrilled you enjoyed the video and noticed the quality-I put a lot of care into it, so that really means a lot! ✨ Thanks for watching! 😘
Really enjoyed having a sticky beak inside your wardrobe!! 😄🤭 I watched the whole video from beginning to end, but needed to pause a couple of times. So ended up watched it over a couple of days. I like your method of clearing…keeping a couple of sentimental items and then being quite realistic about the rest. Very good system. Spring cleaning my wardrobe and drawers is definitely on my list so you’ve inspired me to get to it soon. It’s good to see if there are any gaps I need to fill and then look out for upcoming sales (Black Friday etc) where I might find something new at a bargain.
Thank you! 😊 So glad you enjoyed the little wardrobe tour! And no worries about pausing-life gets busy! I'm thrilled the video gave you a bit of inspiration for your own spring clean; it really does feel good to be practical but keep those special pieces too, doesn’t it? Love your strategy for spotting any wardrobe gaps before those big sales hit-such a savvy way to find a bargain! Happy decluttering and shopping, lovely! 😘🌸
@@Deborahafter50 Thank you!! I’ve discovered that Katies and Rockmans have some amazing deals going on at the moment. Are they closing down? I’m not sure… I made an order which included an animal print cardigan for $8! Really worth having a look!
I had a chuckle with you rearranging their display. 😂 Yes, lots of great things to check out this time of year to display in the house. This year I’ve decided to make all my decorations using stuff I had lying around the house or with stuff of past Christmas to save money. Let me say they look a bit “home made” if you get my drift. 😂
LOL, yes sometimes I need to play with things to see how I would display them in my home and even if I say so myself, I think this new display is so much better 😆 My Christmas tree over the last few years has become more rustic too 😉 I feel it gives it a more personal vibe😚😚 I hope you're starting to find a little comfort each day-it’s so hard losing a pet. When our 21-year-old Burman, Kasper 🐱, passed, he left such a big hole in our hearts. Louis, our ragdoll, has his look but an entirely different personality! The memories and little quirks, though-they stay with you. Sending you lots of love. 💖
@@Deborahafter50 thank you Deborah, that’s very kind of you to say so. Yeah I think of Pud daily. I miss him as I was his human. It’s odd not to have him following me, by my feet or plonking down heavily to get his belly rubbed. Our cats are family and will always be remembered. Thank you and have a lovely weekend!
@Deborahafter50 loved seeing the puzzles were there 4 only or were there more? If you go to TK Maxx again could you do another brilliant showcase of them thank you great video
Thank you, Martin! 😊 I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the puzzles! There were actually a few more than the ones I showed, but I focused on my favorites. I’d be happy to showcase more next time I’m at TK Maxx and see what new puzzles they have in stock! Thanks for the suggestion and for watching! 🧩🎥
Hi Deborah thank you for the video. Those Xmas decorations were so lovely but I'm like other people have so many. Every year I say no more but always find so more to buy. No I don't think I would buy sheets for my bed, maybe I might have brought them for my boys when they were younger but don't think they were ever out when they were younger. Hope you had a good day shopping.
Hi Maureen! 😊 Oh, I completely understand that feeling! Every year, I think I’m done with decorations, but then I spot something new and just can’t resist. Isn’t it funny how they seem to call out to us? 🎄 And yes, Christmas sheets for the kids would’ve been so fun back then - they seem to have so many more options these days! Thanks for watching and sharing, lovely. 🎅✨😚😚
Thank you so much, Patricia! 😊 That means a lot-I love finding pieces that feel fresh and flattering, and it’s great to hear they come across that way. I’m all about keeping things fun and stylish! 💃💕 😚😚
From one Deborah to another, although I do use Debbie, I hang my christmas stocking on door handles and put a piece of cardboard, the size of the stocking in them to make them stay flat. Another place I used to hand t😅hem was on curtain rods but I no longer have any but they always looked good with door handles being the best place. Hope this helps
Thank you for these fantastic ideas! I love the tip about using cardboard to keep the stockings flat-such a simple but clever touch. Door handles and curtain rods are perfect places (though like you I also don't have curtain rods), especially since they show off the stockings beautifully. Thanks so much for sharing! 🎄😊
Hi darling Deborah. So many beautiful decorations at TK MAXX as usual. Some, I think are over priced but so pretty. I loved the dog toys and Christmas houses for the kitties, so cute. I've looked at K Mart and their decorations are really cheap and nasty this year. Yuk. I'm looking forward to Christmas a bit more now as we are going to be with my family on Christmas day this year. Take care beautiful lady. 😍 😘❤❤ 🎄🎁🥂🍾 xx
Hi darling Jen! 🥰 I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing all those gorgeous TK MAXX decorations! I couldn’t agree more-some are definitely pricey, but they are adorable, especially those pet goodies! 🐶🐱 Oh, I know what you mean about Kmart’s decor this year; it’s just not quite up to their usual charm. And how lovely that you’ll be spending Christmas with your family this year-there’s nothing like being surrounded by loved ones during the holidays. Thank you for always sharing your sweet thoughts! Take care, beautiful, I hope you're back in your feet and running around, carefully! 😘❤🎄🎁🥂 xx
Wonderful selection!! I didn’t realise they were stocked for Christmas already…I need to make a trip! It was all Halloween when I was there last. No, I don’t have Christmas sheets. My daughter has a Santa pillow case that she’s had for many years. But I never purchased more than that because it’s seasonal and can only be used for such a short amount of time. I have Christmas theme tea towels and a mug though! 🎅🏼
Thank you lovely! 😊 It’s wild they actually still had loads of Halloween, but I didn't film that part it's been so weird seeing Christmas decorations alongside Halloween, luckily after next week Halloween will be done and dusted and there will be even more room for Christmas decorations 😉 A Santa pillowcase sounds so sweet, and you’re right, the seasonal pieces like sheets can feel a bit short-lived. Christmas tea towels and a mug, though, are perfect little touches that bring the cheer without too much commitment! 😚😚
@@Deborahafter50 Yes, the small accessories are an affordable way to decorate for the season. I really enjoy browsing through all of the Christmas items…looking forward to seeing more appear in the shops soon. I’m like you and tend to veer away from the snowmen and winter theme items, although they are very pretty! I noticed a few weeks ago that Big W had Australian/summer themed decorations, wrapping paper and cards which I thought looked really nice. They featured shells and a festive beach theme. That seemed to be a new style and I thought it looked great!
I completely agree! Accessories are such a fun and affordable way to bring the holiday spirit into the home without going overboard. 😊 The Australian/summer-themed decorations at Big W sound fabulous - if I lived close to the water I would be all over those 😆!
Yes cushion covers yes again from temu/kmart, placemats I have 4 sets, that's enough for us but love seeing what they have in stores. I actually have floor mats too from temu, doormats too Not for decorating bed though, apart from cushions. Have some Christmas tops, pjs (summer ones), socks too and recently croc like shoes from kmart
I’m right there with you, Donna! 😊 TK Maxx always has such beautiful Christmas decorations, and I can never resist taking a look. 🎄✨ So glad you enjoyed the video!
I don't have mantle either but I hand stocking up others places like door handles and can string some up all over our 3 bedroom, lounge, dining room and double sliding door room, which we use for books 16 cube shelves /craft room 😊
That sounds so creative, Bronwyn! 😊 I love how you’ve found different spots to hang stockings all around your home. It must make everything feel so festive and cozy! Your craft room sounds amazing too-perfect for adding those special touches. 🎄✨
Just got out of cupboard to check my christmas items and I already have 8 hand towels and 20 tea towels as this year at kmart I bought, I think they are 3pk so bought 4 of them.😂😅 Christmas cups/mugs I am a sucker for too, about 2 months ago got some from temu but love some you showed here too. What are you doing to me, lol 😂😅😊
Haha, Bronwyn, I love it! 😂 Sounds like you’re all set for Christmas tea towel season! It’s so easy to keep adding to the collection, isn’t it? I bet your kitchen is going to look super festive! 🎄🧺
Oh, that sounds wonderful, Polly! 🍰 There’s nothing like a homemade fruit cake at Christmas-especially when it’s made with love! Does he have a special recipe or a secret ingredient? 🎄😊
There's something so special about those treasured family recipes, especially for a holiday treat like fruit cake. It must make Christmas feel extra cozy and nostalgic! 🎄💖
I totally get that feeling! 😊 TK Maxx always has such tempting Christmas decorations, don’t they? It’s so hard to resist! But I admire your willpower. Maybe you can do a little “window shopping” just to enjoy the festive vibes without adding to the collection. 🎄✨ Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! xx

Thank you, Patricia! 😊 I’m so glad you liked that combo. The black pants and blue top are such comfy leisure pieces, and they work well together, don’t they? Perfect for staying active while still looking put-together! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. 💙
Thank you so much, Karen! 💖 Your kind words mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful for your support. I’m really excited about this new venture, and having such lovely encouragement from you makes it even more special. Thanks for always being here and sharing the journey with me. 💐💕
Hi Jasmine, lovely to hear from you! 😊 Oh my goodness, 300 dresses?! That sounds like an absolute dream wardrobe! How cool that we have the same coat hangers-great minds think alike, right? 😉 Thanks for stopping by and sharing, lovely! ❤️😚😚
⭐ Thank you so much! You’re a star for making it all the way to the end, especially since it was a long video! 😊 I truly appreciate your support and dedication-it means the world to me. 💖😚😚
Deborah, thanks for your video on decluttering. About not being able to lose weight, I find intermittent fasting works for me. Fast 16 hours and have 8 hours window to eat. Please watch Dr Jason Fung and Dr. Mindy Pelz on RU-vid on intermittent fasting. Do it as a lifestyle. I don't eat breakfast and have an early dinner. I was nearly size 14, and now I'm a size 10.
Thank you Lily. I must have done something wrong when I tried intermittent fasting because it didn’t work for me. Skipping breakfast just makes me hungrier for the rest of the day. I’ll look at the Drs YT channels you advised and see if I can understand what I did wrong. I feel like ever since menopause my body just doesn’t respond the same way to exercise and dieting 🥹 I know I’m obviously eating more than my body needs now but I feel like I’m eating healthy…
Yes, skipping breakfast makes me hungry at first, but drink green tea and black coffee to kerb your appetite. The brain is not used to it but you will get used to it. Have smaller meals, no sugar and bread. Plenty of vegetables and eat them first. Eat gluten free, if you like rice, eat a small amount instead of bread. Eat the rice and potatoes 12 hrs after cooking, less sugar absorption. Watch RU-vid on this subject. Your body naturally burns fat when you fast. When you feel hungry, drink green tea or tea or coffee or keep busy, your mind will learn to get used to it. You've got to preserve it if you really want to lose the weight. You can do it Deborah, go Deborah, go!!!
Thank you Lily for your advice. I didn’t know about eating rice 12hours later that’s interesting. Thanks for the encouragement I really appreciate it and need it. I’ve just made an appointment with my GP to get some blood work done so that I can finally find out if I’m in menopause and start dealing with that. Green tea is an acquired taste that I’m really trying to acquire 😂😚😚
⭐ Thank you, Angie-Rose! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video from start to finish! Your support means the world, and I'm thrilled you found it motivating. 😊
If you saw my wardrobe you would faint . It’s has categories, colour blocked , capsule pieces . Yes I get teased for it , same with the shoes and bags . A little hack , if you are unsure , turn the hanger around , in 6 months if you haven’t worn it and it doesn’t give you joy, get rid of it . Oh btw , I am Bali now 😉🐨💗
Oh, Janie, your wardrobe sounds like a dream! 😍 I love that tip about turning the hanger around-such a clever way to see what you actually wear! And Bali? How fabulous! 🏝️ Enjoy every moment of it; I wish I was there right now soaking up that beautiful sunshine too! 🌞😎😚😚
Love your videos. Watched it all while working 🙂. I’m 59, have lost 30kg ( 18/20/22 down to 10/12 )and by watching you I am learning on how to wear things. You have changed my way of thinking with wearing different things and not being afraid to wear different styles. ❤
Wow, Deborah, thank you so much for sharing this! 🌟 I'm absolutely thrilled to hear about your incredible weight loss-30kg is an amazing achievement! 🎉 It’s so wonderful to know that my videos have helped you feel more confident in trying different styles. That’s exactly why I do what I do! I’d love to hear more about how you managed your weight loss journey-what worked for you? Thank you again for watching and for your sweet words. Keep shining, lovely! ❤️
@@Deborahafter50 my partner and myself started eating the carnivore way. We did not go lion but ate only animal products. Now we are doing Ketavore/carnivore very low carb. Am going to join a gym because I need to tone up 😄
@@Deborahafter50 not at first but have slowly introduced a limited variety. I would have a look on RU-vid because Dr Ken Berry explains it all. It’s not a diet it’s a way of eating. The d word is not used in this house. 😊
Thanks so much for sharing what these stores have on offer for Christmas 2024 🥰 I’m heading straight to Provincial Home Living after seeing their beautiful pieces 😍🤩
You're so welcome, Corinne! 🥰 I'm thrilled you enjoyed seeing all the Christmas goodies! Provincial Home Living has such stunning pieces, doesn’t it? 😍 I hope you find some beautiful decorations there to bring that festive magic into your home! Thanks for watching, and happy holiday shopping! 🎄✨
Yes, great idea sell some online then. Donate others too. Do what's best for you of course. You said you feel like a bubble bee in the jumper 😂😅 Feel like a marshmallow 😂😅
Hello. Would love to watch this video but the visual quality of this and your last two videos are very grainy. I watch on my TV generally but even on my mobile The videos aren't so clear
Thank you for the feedback Natalie. This video gave me so mushy strife due to its length. I film in 4K but due to the length was advised by Apple Support to export in a social media size as my laptop could not cope with the video file size which was 5GB. It turned out to be a bit of a nightmare. I will explain it all in an upcoming October recap video I’m about to film , look out for this. I’ve returned to exporting in 4K but have had to return to shorter videos. Sorry had to edit in, it basically looks ok on a small screen like phone or iPad but cloudy and out of focus the larger the TV screen you watch it on 😭
Hi Deborah, love your informative videos and your bright, bubbly personality. These dresses are just beautiful. You mentioned in a previous comment that the dress came in a large or extra large. When I look on the Salty Crush site they come in size 12, 14, 16, etc. I am approximately the same size and build as yourself. Can you tell me what size the first dress you are wearing came in please. I normally wear a size 14, but this particular dress in that size seems to measure awfully small according to the size chart on Salty Crush. Thank you in advance.
Thank you so much Sarah, the dress you asked about is gorgeous right? I got this in a 14. Have fun shopping 🛍️🛍️the links are all in the description box for ease of access 😍😍
Thank you Polly, yes that is the easiest option which by all the feedback sounds good to me too, less work for me 😂 Someone did suggest a setting up a market stall which also sounds like a great idea . Have a great day and thank you for your support 🤩⭐️😚😚
Enjoyed every minute of the video. I would donate Kmart and temu to a women’s shelter and see if family or friends would like the rest. If you sell you’ll get very little return of your clothes 😊
Aww, thank you so much! 🌟✨ I'm so glad you made it to the end and that the video inspired you to tackle your closet! It's always such a satisfying feeling to have a good declutter. Happy culling, and thanks for watching! 😊💖😚😚
Hi Deborah, I can suggest what my friend & I did with our summer dresses &tops last week. We got together & we have a local market down the road we combined the rent for the day and were ruthless with our prices we put all our items for $10 & $5 but only summer things &no Anko brands they won't do well. By lunchtime we sold out ,we made great pocket money 💰 & We used that profit to buy our summer wardrobe for the summer hope this helps there's no tax issues reselling your own items we also added crossbody bags &slides to our mix. Maybe try it with your daughter..❤❤xo
Hi Silvia! 😊 What a fantastic idea, thank you so much for sharing! That sounds like such a fun and productive way to declutter and refresh your wardrobe for summer. I love that you teamed up with your friend and had such success at the market. It must have felt so rewarding to sell out and then treat yourselves to a new summer wardrobe! 💖 I’ll definitely keep this in mind, and it could be a great little project to do with my daughter. Thanks again for the lovely tip! 😘 😚😚
It works be careful selling Online plus shipping costs, don't take any winter gear ,only for spring 🌼🌱 summer, then you can do 1 for winter. We try and go 2 times a year beginning of winter & summer 🏝️🌞 . 😘 Xo
Just be prepared for scammers if you sell your clothes or even just charge for post. It’s bad and I hope it doesn’t happen to you, but for me it’s just donate, far less stress.
Thank you Rosie, I know I find it so hard to sell online, I have a short fuse for scammers and can’t handle the to-and from for little return. Whenever we sell anything on marketplace I ask my husband, he’s a lot more patient in this area than I. I thought I’d just put it out there and see in this community whether it’s worth it or not 😚😚
I agree, less stressful & you’re helping someone else by donating & my attitude is ‘it’s not going to make it break me to donate rather than sell something for maybe $20…. If I’m lucky’ x 😅❤
Thanks, Rita! 😊 I totally agree-sometimes all that effort to sell for a little return just isn't worth the stress. But I always love hearing what others are doing; it’s so interesting to see all the different opinions and life experiences that my beautiful audience brings. You never know when someone’s perspective might inspire a new approach! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and for being here! 😅❤
