Welcome to Car Nitty! The place for petrolheads and anyone with any sort of interest for automotive content.
The reasoning behind the name of this channel is two-fold. The first reason is I like to cover the "nitty gritty" in featured cars and the second reason is "nitty" means addict in urban slang and this is the channel for car nitties!
I focus on car reviews and comparisons mainly with the odd car ownership tale and I hope to entertain as well as teach along the journey.
Uploads go live every other Sunday at 6pm and since you're here, you may as well hit subscribe (it's free!) and hit the bell icon so you don't miss an upload. You've clearly taken a fancy to end up here so may as well go the whole hog... I promise to do my best to maintain your loyalty and interest as a supporter.
If you want to feature your car on the channel, read the description in any uploaded video for further detail on how to get in touch.
A little late to comment but our R32 is a tad jerky in 1st and 2nd and run off in the low. I believe its an R32 thing from reading around the internet. Easily overcome staying in 3rd at low speeds and using that high torque :-).
They do three types of heating controls with the ST. They do normal dials they do digital dials and then they do the heat where it’s a full stereo and you operate the heating on the stereo. That’s the better one.
Good car. Vvti is reliable. Everything works on my 2004. Good all round and fun. 6gears is mad.. Leather. Value. Air-con. How many in the UK?? Classic.
1.8T and the 1.9TDI are two of the best Vw engines ever made Both can be really well tuned. Not all about the power and Mk4s created an incredible car scene that's still popular in 2024.
Just bought a MK5 R32 #3890 of 5000 here in the states. I looked for an MK4 but there selling for 18-30k for mint condition. I’m in love with this car already. My mechanic just tuned the DSG so I can’t wait to see the difference. Also throwing in high flow cats and a borla exhaust 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Nice content, good to see both these cars side by side. I have an E46 325ci, mainly stock but slightly lowered - you don’t get that driving experience with newer cars. The straight 6 engine is smooth and sounds great, you can put your foot down without doing mad speeds and feedback from the road is spot on. Has to be a manual for the full experience, downshifting and throttle control around bends makes this car a fun car to drive.
I actually miss mine , didn’t realise how much I’d miss it until i sold it, bought it low millage pfl 07 standard and spend around 3k to get it to stage 2 (block mod , actuators, intercooler, 3”turbo back exhaust, rs clutch etc etc..approx 320bhp… as mentioned it’s very thirsty if you drive spirited but the fun and the engine noise you get for what these day’s you pay 4/5k… you’ll never beat it… I’m actually thinking of getting another 😅
Difference between the b25 and b30 Forged crankshaft for the b30 More durable camshafts Bigger throttle body Bigger intakeboot and maf sensor Purple injectors
Japanese imports are the way forward, I have the same mk6 import it’s so clean underneath the chassis will last a lot longer than a uk car from the same year, the suspension is also a lot better as Japan roads don’t have as many pot holes
@@stevenfreeman7798 I'm sure the engine being a 4 pot makes it less nose heavy but having an absurd looking car with a lackluster engine isn't a great combo
IL motore sembra un leone che ruggisce, ma la cosa più formidabile è come questo collabori con il magnifico cambio a 6 rapporti, completando il tutto in una macchina semplicemente tra le migliori al mondo!!!!!!!
Great content, straight from the heart, i have a "relatinonship" with my bmws like you, e39 523i manual is soo fun to drive and e61 530d chiped automatic an absolute family powerhouse 😁
You have a similar setup to me. My w204 c63 is my weekend car all year and my 330ci e46 is my summer car. Only comes out of the garage on sunny days and is off the road in winter
M54 is still better than many newer engines, smooth and sounds nice too, wide torque curve, can't beat a good straight six. Main difference between the 325 and 330 is the torque curve. If I recall correctly the 330ci/i has about 80 or 90% of the torque from 1500rpm.
I had a Mk4 in 2016, one of the best cars I've ever had. It put a smile on my face every time I got in it! sold it for a profit 2 years later! If I ever bought a Mk5, I'd always be sad that it's not a Mk4
Carbon isn't cheap. Carbon pieces cost around £300 a pop average for splitter, sideskirt, diffuser and spoiler. He did more stuff later such as OEM ambient lighting and changed the seats and door cards to an individual colour.
Would you buy a 325Ci or is it strictly M/M Lites only? Let me know below in the comments! If you liked this video, make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe! Check out some of our other uploads too! 🖤 Do check out Tahir's Instagram if you want to see more of the 330: instagram.com/t77hrx?
@@CarNitty I've got a 325ci coupe 2 door.. absolutely love it,MORE than enough power, solid, reliable car and hugely fun to drive. The only reason I wouldn't go for a 330 is the cost of road tax and insurance..my road tax isn't far off £400 a year. Also the cost of filling it up..yeah a faster car but you'll pay for it.
Road tax is the same for both cars here in the UK. I had the 325Ci and insurance is quite cheap on E46s and Tahir's insurance is also very competitive so I'd say it costs the same to insure too.
@@CarNitty Nearly £400 on insurance when others a paying a fraction ..I can't find any insurance quotes under £1300 and I'm 48 years old with 10 years of no claims. Not sure I agree with your statement that road tax is the same. Bigger engine, higher emissions.
Insurance is always subjective to multiple factors. My 325Ci in this video produces 230g of cO2 per KM. The 330Ci produces 229g. Both are in road tax band J-K which is currently £415 per annum as they're pre-06 models.
Great video lads! I've got a 325ci exactly the same as the one on your video but not a convertible..more and more people are asking me if I want to sell it. For me it's got to be a 325ci or 330. Bought mine for 4k, 64k miles with no mods. Definitely a keeper. An e46 m sport automatic? No....no......no.
I was getting around 23-25mpg doing mixed dual carriageway and local driving. The 330 gets around 22-24. On motorway journeys, I was getting around 35.
