Would you buy the Lexus over one of the German trios? Let me know below! If you liked this video, make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe! Check out some of our other uploads too! 🖤 Please do checkout Yan's Instagram if you want to see his new project car: instagram.com/yan_k20_fn2?
Btw mine is Sel and Sel is heavily loaded almost as s class so definitely kills the Merc c class ..With lexus you might get less fancy named techs but the one it have work spot on even after 20 years
I'd be honoured to have an IS350 on the channel. The next video to drop on the channel will be the ISF so keep an eye out for that so it would be amazing to complete the trio. Please send me an email at carnitty@gmail.com or drop me a DM on Instagram!
It needs those exhaust mods to allow the noise to be free. It's crazy how muted these are from factory. How many middle aged men drive these not knowing what they have under their right foot?
@@CarNitty new Toyota supra. 😅 Most of the lexus built in exclusive factory in Japan. Some lexus built in Toyota city and Canada. Check the sides of your car door. 😁 If your car built in Japan, that is one of the best Lexus high quality built. Most of the engineers there are the best engineers of Toyota. 30-40 years experience. This is the model built there. LFA GX LC LS RX ISF IS 350 IS 500
There was nothing like hosting a rev battle with Yan lining up with this at our events. Nothing like hearing this car bounce the limiter. This car will be missed!
Solid cars! The only weak point is the Calipers. The slide pins seize up easily and the whole caliper needs replacing. Greasing the slide pins once a year solves the issue. Pretty much bullet proof other than that (with regular maintenance) Carbon build up isn't really an issue in the UK like most people think it is especially if you use premium fuel and drive it hard every so often. Only thing that'll compete with this sound wise for a similar price is the Mk2 Honda Legend, but they're quite thin on the ground these days and running costs are higher.
I have 220d SE, alcantara seats, 6-speed manual Sport gearbox (shorter gears) with DPF off and EGR off, remapped to 210 WHP and 475NM torque. Hard driving in the city gives me 9.5 l/km...
thats true.. with gutted DPF and muffler delete, after 3k rpm it sounds like the devil is mad and there is a tornado comming 😀. But yea, the petrol one sounds really good - no doubt!
Fantastic comparison. As a owner of one of these they are absolutely fantastic to drive. As much as I like the front after market headlights not a big fan of the rear. I think Yan should install the leather seats as they come with heating AND cooling seats which will give his car a fantastic look of course it will require little bit of modification.
Beat this. I got an is250 phase 2 this one for £2600. Single owner from day one at 83,000 miles. 0 issues. All maintenance cost on my end with failed calipers.
I owned a 55 plate manual is250 for a year but needed to sell it due to a change of job meaning traveling more so need something better on fuel. It was only on 91k miles had FSH had it for sale for weeks and only got £2100 in the end. This was only 3 weeks ago 😭
The manual gearbox definitely made it less desirable although no doubt it made the car very engaging to drive that was a very cheap price you let it go for. Let's hope the new owner looks after it!
The manual has 460 road tax it's also the worst transmission on Lexus those two make it a lot less desirable ..it's cruiser so it's really made for auto
Someone with a Japanese import IS350 reached out to me in the comments section of the IS250. Let's see if we can make the trio a reality and yes, night and day difference between the V6 and V8 here
@@CarNitty the 350 definitely won’t let you down in the acceleration department, it makes great use of its 4.08 gear ratios so you can use them all the way to redline
Unfortunately the person with the IS350 has upgraded to a newer generation IS250 so the hopes of making that video a reality seem bleak. Let's hope someone is kind enough to offer theirs to me
@@CarNitty When the car is in my care? Yep. It’s in good hands. But when I got it. Oh boi. The engine overheated. Idk what the seller did but it overheated after 2 months. Lol. I learned my lesson since then.
3 series bends the IS over in terms of driver enjoyment and vehicle dynamics. I test drove a 335i and IS350 and the 3 was vastly superior. There's no comparison there and that gap has grown wider over the years with the new M3 being a dynamically sound car over the IS500. There's a reason Lexus created the IS in the first place and that was to challenge the 3 series. Yes reliability is not there for BMW but when they're well looked after, the IS doesn't hold a candle to a well maintained 3.
I think BMW has what a sporty driver requires in a car nailed. They've been making generations of 3 series for 60 years. This was Lexus' only second generation of the IS. The brief of an IS is trying to be a Mercedes more than anything in my opinion
@@CarNitty I think you're right. I'm happy with my IS350 and I'm still keen to get a 3 series. Yes I'll probably run into some issues but the brief moment I tasted a 335i in a test drive is something I will never forget. It just felt leagues better. Both are great cars.
I find the materials on the Lexus much better tough bmw feels cheap for what it is .I rather drive dodge charger or Challenger if I want sporty 5.7 hemi is dirt cheap this days
@@CarNitty yes ma brother maximum respect to you, u know its because of watching ur vid on this that im gona buy 1, im a car nitty myself owned over 60 cars in my time so i know my cars an was looking at lexus because i had x2 is200 back in the day n never let me down, had lots of these germans n lost bare money on them, ive had new golf r all sorts but nothing turns me on like an r32... unfortunatly im disabled now on crutches n that so cant work etc cant afford to mess around so gota get sumat real an im gona go for 1 of these next.. i just wana know if i get the exhaust stuff done it wont be an mot failure would it?
Yes my brother u good? I went to see a is250 in leeds didnt do anything for me like i thought it would... ended up getting an R32 yesterday like yours but in a shade lighter blue 08 reg
3:50 lol mate wtf "not the best looking cars"? No offense, that's just you having a "peculiar taste", to put it politely. They are league above your German trio in the looks department (which look outdated already), there's no bad angle on that car. It's genuinely beautiful car, if you had one, you would know that's the first thing people comment about it (especially if its in pearl white or granite dark gray color). Also, you are contradicting your self by saying that you can "make it look this good" by just doing the lights and wheels upgrade. If car did not have good body lines already, those mods would not do anything...
The main issue with the XE20 from factory is the lights have aged badly. By upgrading them, they look sleek and modern and shave almost 10 years of the actual production age. The wheel options were also quite boring
@@CarNitty Ok yeah, you do have a point here. The pre-facelift lights do look outdated (and post-facelift look kinda "girly" imo). I guess that's the issue, body lines are like decade ahead of those lights lol. Agree about the wheels too, all the stock options are boring, except the optional F-sport forged wheels, but good luck finding those...
Yep, you're not going to get an LSD on a non full fat performance car and even then some manufacturers give electronic diffs rather than an LSD. Realistically, for the power these push, you don't really need one
The IS250 is a more obtainable car for the average Joe so it seems people would rather watch a video on something more realistic rather than a pipe dream
I didn't watch it. I really hope you address the carbon build up problem!! That's the main issue, so I was being polite of not using other words about this specific model.
@@CarNitty I’m sorry man. We have all 3 versions of the 2is here in the US (although IS 350’s and ISF’s are rare finds here nowadays). I bought my 2012 IS 350 almost 3 years ago after I got home from a military deployment, and I’m still in love with it! There’s nothing like a great reliable luxury car, with an engine that will have you flying down the road in no time lol. Your friend’s 250 build is pretty solid man! That sound is bananas!!!
