I own a 2018 NC750X and I love it, but for it to be the most practical bike in existence, it would need something better than chain drive. Honda really missed the mark by giving it a chain, there's nothing practical about chain drive, and the NC should of course have had either shaft or belt drive, that would have made it perfect.
@@fr8trn88 I said that because a 300 Rally is a completely different bike from a 250 Rally. It shares about 10% of the parts from a 250 Rally. The 300 Rally drives very differently from a 250 Rally. The steering and the frame geometry are quite different between the 300 and 250 Rally. If you ride them both back to back it is very obvious that they are completely different motorcycles that look very similar. I have.
Maybe you suck lol, I have had a ton of bikes and the Gen 3 KLR is awesome....performs badass off-road and on road it is a beast. It is only boys whining about it is heavy or tall....get stronger and grow lol. Crash bars fixes the dropping and extra fuel is why it is rated heavier lol. You must have missed the massive list of updates for the Gen 3. A lithium battery and a slip on makes up for the weight and when you add in the increased fuel capacity it is actually lighter for cheap. I has always been a ADV bike lol. So a GS? Are you mental? So where do I get a GS for $7500 that doesn't have $1200 services?
nice ride, but I just remembered, why tf are you looking twice to the right, in cases there are noting to see? planing to visit these bushes or a guardrail?
I was on the comms with my dad in front of me and I'm sure he told me to look at the ocean or the cliff with a massive dropoff coming up. I look twice because I don't want to be looking away from the road longer than I have to. I might have been able to see through an opening that the camera didn't pickup because of how it is mounted on my helmet.
Yeah I'm sure that is a factor that made this bike so cheap at $9500 for a new one today. However, I agree, I would be willing to pay $10,000 for better brakes. That would make this motorcycle phenomenal.
Hold on a minute...you criticise the brakes but never got to the point that the ABS kicked in? Clearly they worked well enough for the purpose. It's a 50HP engine in a non sporting frame......dual calliper massive rotors are not on the menu at this price. I own a 2021 model and the brakes work fine. It is actually fairly nimble for its modest specs and surprises many fancier bikes with its ability to stay with them. It does a bit of everything.
I will admit there were points that I was asking more of this bike than what it is meant for. I normally wouldn't mind pushing a bike to it's limits but this was this a rental bike and who knows if there was an abs delete done without telling anyone. I would hate to be on the edge of a mountain before I found out. Overall, yes the brakes worked fine, but as someone who is used to the best brakes in the industry it was a big change. This was also one of the first years of the 750 they might have improved them by now, but the confidence brakes give you means a lot to me and I wouldn't be confident in needing 100% of the brakes all the time.
@@fr8trn88 I did not try africa, I only rode a new 2023 nc and a transalp. transalp is really good, it's not big, great steering. a bit rough on the engine and gears, but it's more fun. Africa is like +30 kilos, I do understand now that it doesn't matter if you are not intending to drop it, but still ;)
Ive never understood people complaining about brake power. If the brakes are good enough to lock up the tire, they're as good as they can be. The only exception would be if you are working the brakes a ton overheating then like on a track setting - but again, as long as it stops you, you can't ask for anything more.
I’ve done it on a motorcycle before because I think I can slam on the brakes and pray to god i don’t get hit by someone or go full speed and trust myself not to hit anyone and because I trust myself more than god it’s gotten me out of some shit situations if i wouldn’t have went wide open the blue 99 blazer would have crushed me a tractor trailer hit a Tacoma that went flying into the side of the blazer and rolled it over onto its roof right where I would have been setting
I sincerely hope that new riders take your advice so as to keep supplying us cheapskates with new to us used motorcycles! At 65 I have many motorcycles most purchased around $800: Nighthawks 650 & 750, Vulcan 750 & Intruder 800, etc. Second category up to $1,500: SV650, TW200 with less than 600 miles! And a couple at $2,500: a Hornet 919, and an XT225 with less than 500 miles.
During my hey daze, I became quite good in tuning the British Twins of the 1950's to 1970's. But when I tried to transition to HD motors , I couldn't tell if they were running right
The Pan , the knuckle, they sound great but that shovel head takes it to another level. I remember my father asking me to skip the needle on my lp on the song "Hot for Teacher" by VanHalen over and over again, because the intro was so similar. Plus the fact that I used to maintain his Shovelhead just to ride it sometimes. Best song from them all , in my opinion is the Shovelhead.
Good advice. Could not find much to object to. Many new motorcycle riders do change bike in less than a year. Finding that the first one wasn't the best for the type of riding they actually want to do. A street bike could be a safe guess. Nothing wrong with the bikes mentioned. Definitely ABS. I think a used, low mileage, fairly new bike is worth considering. Cheaper and less loss when changing to another bike. I have had dozens of bikes over the past 60 years. Only bought 2 new. Still have a 11 year old troublefree Ninja 300 plus some other bikes.
Interesting video, I started riding in 68, and have had 16+ motorcycles, not counting the drag bikes, as they are not street legal, enjoyed the video. 👍subbed 😎
DISCLAIMER*: My dad's bike does have a wind rider seat cover and not a Chinese one. The seat covers are often on sale which makes them not that much more money. That being said for such a high touch, high wear item, that is such an awesome product the name brand one is worth it on this item.
It's close between the wind rider cover and the gsa windsheild. My dad decided to actually buy the wind rider seat cover and not the Chinese one since it is such a high use and wear item. We wanted to make sure the seat cover didn't break or tear so just a little disclaimer there. Anyway it is close, but I think the gsa windshield could offer a little more protection on your shoulders, but the wind rider seat cover is perfect. It keeps my seat dry in the rain, it gives my butt some air on hot days, and it gives some cushion. I can't overstate how awesome it is. I will do a top 5 and bottom 5 mods after my Alaska trip.
