Good advice. Could not find much to object to. Many new motorcycle riders do change bike in less than a year. Finding that the first one wasn't the best for the type of riding they actually want to do. A street bike could be a safe guess. Nothing wrong with the bikes mentioned. Definitely ABS. I think a used, low mileage, fairly new bike is worth considering. Cheaper and less loss when changing to another bike. I have had dozens of bikes over the past 60 years. Only bought 2 new. Still have a 11 year old troublefree Ninja 300 plus some other bikes.
I sincerely hope that new riders take your advice so as to keep supplying us cheapskates with new to us used motorcycles! At 65 I have many motorcycles most purchased around $800: Nighthawks 650 & 750, Vulcan 750 & Intruder 800, etc. Second category up to $1,500: SV650, TW200 with less than 600 miles! And a couple at $2,500: a Hornet 919, and an XT225 with less than 500 miles.
