when people are close friends and shippers in fandoms see it "they're gay, guys look they held eye contact for .1 miliseconds its real!!!!! No im not lying because I want to insert gay shit into everything trust me guys im not gay its just blatant!!" I hate shippers.
Tomohisa Taguchi, the director of the fourth movie has said they're in love in the movies: "I had this idea in the back of my mind, "Ryoji and Makoto are in love with each other. Aigis' feelings for Makoto are one-sided." (Interview in Newtype Magazine February 2016, page 104). Given he directed the movies, I think his statement may hold more weight than your claim that they're "close friends", no? Also, Shuji Sogabe, author of the Persona 3 manga (who also worked on Reload, the game where Ryoji outright confesses to Makoto) supports their relationship as romantic and has written romantic doujin of the two of them, one of which, "Strawberry-chan Say Goodbye", is still available online. So are these two men, who are employed by Atlus and actively work on and create official Persona 3 material, "shippers" too? You probably shouldn't be watching the movies if, by your logic, you hate the director.
@@wizardokeebler2580 I'm confused. Are you saying the director - the person who created the movie - does not get to decide what is "canon" to the piece of art he made? The director is "shipping" characters in a movie that he is working on, where he gets to decide the direction of the characters/story? This is very puzzling to me.
So Tomohisa Taguchi, Director of Winter of Rebirth, has actually stated in an interview (Newtype Magazine February 2016) that his interpretation is "Ryoji and Makoto are in love with each other."
-he sits down in front of the station -stands up seeing someones shadow revealed by the moonlight -asked to sit down and talk with that someone -stands up after 6 seconds of silence he tries to be so mysterious and emo but instead hes just really funny. happens as well in the same movie with him and aigis after aigis runs off to find him in the middle of the night. dude just cant help but care about other people. love this dumb idiot guy.
Hmm. Frankly, he doesn't "try" to be anything. Just to interact with others as little as possible, bc he's in his "loss hurts, so I go numb again" arc. Y'know, the only defense mechanism he knew for his entire life since losing his parents to rights before this year of school? His goal is simple: distance himself, detach from life again, do as little as possible not to trigger anything painful. He's not trying to be mysterious or look cool, or act edgy. But, he can't truly go back to how he was. That's why it comes off as awkward.
And here I thought Ryoji in Reload was really funny and sweet... I love how many versions this guy has, and each of them is absolutely in love with MC, no matter if they are a guy or a girl
"I don't need friends" He probably checked Ryoji's arcana, found out it was death and went "nah, already maxed out a death slink this guy can go fuck himself"
@@frikizone2.03 at least ryoji is gay my guy. In femc's route, he literally confessed to her that no matter what gender she is, he will always be into her. And even if somehow both of them were not gay, that didn't stop anyone from shipping them, because they had certain chemistry with each other. Remember this is a video game, we are talking about fictional characters here, so as long as its not real people there is no actual harm to anyone if people want to headcanon their ship.
Game Ryoji: there's no way I'm death! I dont want to be death, i dont want to be the reason this world dies! Movie Ryoji: I'm the reaper bitch *explodes bridge and attacks S.E.E.S*
Honestly i never knew people shipped Makoto with Ryouji, in the game i always got the feeling more of a friend or let's be honest being another part of the protagonist. Due to the only reason Death to be humanized is because it was sealed into an human, and with Nyx being the indirect progenitor of life in the way we know on Earth in the Persona universe, it knowing about humans and how to live life as best as you can, Death took human form after being with you for 10 years and after separeting from you turned into your best friend. It's pretty poethic, and really exemplifies the themes of Persona 3 Death is not your enemy but something you must learn to live with, so you spend your days on bonds, because those are the things that truly make live beautiful, even the memeable phrase that Nyx Avatar says everytime it changes phases The Arcana is the way by which all is revealed, are actual life changing advices about how to live a life that brings value to you, every single variation. As to live is to die. Memento Mori.
