Thank god you posted this. I feel the exact same way as you. Second guessing if I should even have a puppy. It seems like this is definitely the type of breed I just hope with time she grows into being a more lead-able.
Can SO relate with this. My cavapoo, Rocky (now 9 mo), - same black color as Luna - was enthralled with y'alls videos. He's fascinated by pup videos in general. It's quite funny. But yep. Sometimes a work in progress. The mouthy-ness. OMG. Look forward to seeing other of your videos.
Yes that’s right as they don’t want to do that in their bed so they hold on…. But not when very young as they can’t hold that long. So I would get up twice in the night when she was 8-12 weeks
@@mudjahedjin HI i had to ignore the noises she made. When we don’t reinforce their noises by opening the crate they realise we wont get them out. They become used to it being a safe place and it is their bed. If they are too hyped, hungry or need the toilet it is best to do all those things first. If they make a noice after that, you can test by taking out to toilet, and if they do or don’t go, then straight back to crate…so they realise, they will be taken out, but can’t then get attention to play and be let out. It is like a child….take them to toilet, but it is not play time and not time for more tv etc. It worked. And during the day making the crate pleasant, but feeding in the crate and leaving the door open so they don’t see it as punishment.
@@Myminimalistlife_x Thank you very much. My 2 months old puppy hates it. I was patient enough and step by step i made him go in by himself. i didnt rush anything. Something happened and i had to leave the house...so as he was inside, i locked him in and left. 30 mins after i returned, and before i opened the door he was crying out loud...but really loud, like someone is killing him haha. i waited until he stayed quiet and then i opened the door. after that, he is really insecure about it and i dont know what to do. Thank you!!
Hi yes it takes a lot of times to do it. They will always want to be with us… but I have also always reinforced never saying hi when I get home and that has worked that they don’t jump up and they wait for their greeting. So I never said goodbye but out her in before I left with toys and a treat (although she never ate it until I got home) It’s the noise that makes me feel bad but they start to realise that it won’t help get them out until silent …
I have a puppy too and listening at your experience gave me a relief. I thought I’m the only one going through the sleepless nights, the walk getting between my legs, and the crying. Thanks for sharing!!!
I'm on my first day with my Cavoodle puppy Wanda. She's very affectionate but clingy which is probably normal for being in a new environment. She's in her crate now with door closed so that I can do some things and she seems to settle if I'm around.
@@mustlovedogs8503 that's an interesting comment about 'not rewarding crying'. Three plus weeks in I'm trying to get Wanda, my Cavoodle pup to play in the backyard without me being out there. Sometimes she'll cry a bit but then go do something then come back about 5 minutes later. I might pick her up to comfort or reassure her but now I wonder if I'm rewarding bad behaviour. Your advice would welcome. Cheers 😘
I was able to crate train my German Shepherd puppy immediately. I placr one of my old shirt Infront of the crate. It allow the pup to smell my scent. She sleeps well. Sometimes she play with her toys in the crate. We are on a schedule when she need to go potty too. Never did her business in crate. Each day it becomes easier.
Luna is BEAUTIFUL - I had a black toy poodle when I was young, naturally named, Midnight ... beautiful. But I have never seen a black as black as Luna's beautiful glossy black! Wow - I have a 2 year old Bichpoo named Zulu. I got him when the pandemic started, and was depressed and feeling lonely and so empty, I had to do something to bring myself out of the moment, so, I got him and have loved every minute. Now, I am waiting with bated breath for the newest addition to my family, a Maltipoo. I can't pick him up until almost the end of the month and the waiting is unbearable - I cannot wait to meet him. I've already named him before even meeting him, except for seeing pics - he has been dubbed Mr. Wiggles! Don't ask me why but I've played with several names and that one won't leave my head. But I just want to say, your presentation is absolutely awesome and very enjoyable. I am TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH LUNA!! Stay well, Peace and Blessings to both you and Luna,
She is adorable and it looks like you trained her very well. I have 11 week old puppy her name is Rosie she is just the cutest little thing we love her so much and we’ve been trying to crate train her we’re having a hard time. What I’ve been trying to do is put a treat in front of the cage and then one in the middle of a cage but I got a feeling I’m putting too many but your way seems like it’s easier but I trade it your way and she goes around the cage so what else can I do should I stick with my same way or try it your way.
Sorry I didnt get back to you until now.I would make sure she is hungry, and I did it my way to she would do what I needed and saw it as a great treat.
Aww I also have a Cavapoo! He’s 4 months old now and is doing ok with crate training, but during the day when he is in the crate, he whines like crazy.
What a cute little girl! You both look like you're doing very well with the training. When I was training my dogs, when puppies, our tutor used to say to make a high pitched scream when they bite you when playing. As that is what the other pups would do in the litter when they play too rough and this teaches them to be more gentle when playing. Hope that helps! Lots of hard work but well worth putting the time and energy in ! She's gorgeous!
Just when you think they can't get any cuter!!!!! What type of grooming do you do for this breed? Brush daily? How often do you bathe her? I would definitely start with 'messing with' her mouth and paws and such so she will allow vet visits without defense.
Luna has a strong personality like my ZoZo. The only way to get her to do what I want is a gentle NO and a gentle Calm down. This one is a little younger and she's getting there. I love your darling happy tail.
Oooh, I remember the sharp little teeth on my ankles, the biting came as a bit of shock to me! If it’s any consolation, they’re so much more settled and by the time they’re three!!
Luna really listens. She's so cute. That last toy she is playing with has really caught her interest, the pink one to. I love the ingenious resting spot with the toys. Great idea, I wish I knew about doing something like that when I had got my dogs.
The way she runs is so cute...nothing but joy...sorry to tell you this but poodles are known to be one of , if not the, smartest breeds...you are going to have your hands full when she decides to be a prankster!! Can't wait to see more of her.
She's so cute. In Greece we need shelters because you know they can simply be abandoned to their fate. You will love the company even more as she grows to.
