This is how to crate train a puppy at night whining. I thought I would never be able to train my cavoodle puppy and wanted to give up. But I decided to check out some of they youtube videos on crate training and gave it another go. Here I show you my cavoodle - cavapoo puppy at 10 weeks and how I was able to train her to be in her crate and stop whining. Yay

Thank god you posted this. I feel the exact same way as you. Second guessing if I should even have a puppy. It seems like this is definitely the type of breed I just hope with time she grows into being a more lead-able.

Can SO relate with this. My cavapoo, Rocky (now 9 mo), - same black color as Luna - was enthralled with y'alls videos. He's fascinated by pup videos in general. It's quite funny. But yep. Sometimes a work in progress. The mouthy-ness. OMG. Look forward to seeing other of your videos.

I was able to crate train my German Shepherd puppy immediately. I placr one of my old shirt Infront of the crate. It allow the pup to smell my scent. She sleeps well. Sometimes she play with her toys in the crate. We are on a schedule when she need to go potty too. Never did her business in crate. Each day it becomes easier.

Thank you for the video. Nice approach to see the real world for someone who has been utilizing the techniques from Zak and Michele.

What a cute little girl! You both look like you're doing very well with the training. When I was training my dogs, when puppies, our tutor used to say to make a high pitched scream when they bite you when playing. As that is what the other pups would do in the litter when they play too rough and this teaches them to be more gentle when playing. Hope that helps! Lots of hard work but well worth putting the time and energy in ! She's gorgeous!

Yep. And all playing stops. For some, I even have to turn my back to them. This is how I train all of my rescues and foster dogs.

This crate method also trains them to do other things. I love the way she goes for her toys.

Yes I realised that crate training her will help in the future even though there is some short term pain

@@mudjahedjin HI i had to ignore the noises she made. When we don’t reinforce their noises by opening the crate they realise we wont get them out. They become used to it being a safe place and it is their bed. If they are too hyped, hungry or need the toilet it is best to do all those things first. If they make a noice after that, you can test by taking out to toilet, and if they do or don’t go, then straight back to crate…so they realise, they will be taken out, but can’t then get attention to play and be let out. It is like a child….take them to toilet, but it is not play time and not time for more tv etc. It worked. And during the day making the crate pleasant, but feeding in the crate and leaving the door open so they don’t see it as punishment.

@@Myminimalistlife_x Thank you very much. My 2 months old puppy hates it. I was patient enough and step by step i made him go in by himself. i didnt rush anything. Something happened and i had to leave the house...so as he was inside, i locked him in and left. 30 mins after i returned, and before i opened the door he was crying out loud...but really loud, like someone is killing him haha. i waited until he stayed quiet and then i opened the door. after that, he is really insecure about it and i dont know what to do. Thank you!!

Hi yes it takes a lot of times to do it. They will always want to be with us… but I have also always reinforced never saying hi when I get home and that has worked that they don’t jump up and they wait for their greeting. So I never said goodbye but out her in before I left with toys and a treat (although she never ate it until I got home) It’s the noise that makes me feel bad but they start to realise that it won’t help get them out until silent …

She is adorable and it looks like you trained her very well. I have 11 week old puppy her name is Rosie she is just the cutest little thing we love her so much and we’ve been trying to crate train her we’re having a hard time. What I’ve been trying to do is put a treat in front of the cage and then one in the middle of a cage but I got a feeling I’m putting too many but your way seems like it’s easier but I trade it your way and she goes around the cage so what else can I do should I stick with my same way or try it your way.

Sorry I didnt get back to you until now.I would make sure she is hungry, and I did it my way to she would do what I needed and saw it as a great treat.

I'm on my first day with my Cavoodle puppy Wanda. She's very affectionate but clingy which is probably normal for being in a new environment. She's in her crate now with door closed so that I can do some things and she seems to settle if I'm around.

Yes I think separation anxiety is hard for some dogs. I think as long as their crying is not rewarded they start to understand the rules

@@mustlovedogs8503 that's an interesting comment about 'not rewarding crying'. Three plus weeks in I'm trying to get Wanda, my Cavoodle pup to play in the backyard without me being out there. Sometimes she'll cry a bit but then go do something then come back about 5 minutes later. I might pick her up to comfort or reassure her but now I wonder if I'm rewarding bad behaviour. Your advice would welcome. Cheers 😘

Hi sorry for the delay. I went off the recommendation from a trainer, so that there are not a lot of carbs in the treat and more protein.
