The Bravo 1 is my favorite. It’s convex grind and takes some getting used to but it’s great for batoning. It just blows the chunks apart. Feather sticks well but takes some practice to get used to the convex. The knife you show are great but too small for me.
It's a nice knife, but I've learned not to get knives with jimping cuts. Their magnacut knife broke and the weak point started at the jimping cut. Jimping it's stupid. it's like starting a crack and weak point in your knife steel.
Been rocking a Garberg for a while as a daily carry before That it was a mora classic. Hoping this is a good middle ground between a lightweight and nimble Mora classic and the garberg
What do you think about bravo 1 LT vs the ultralight bushcrafter for all-purpose camp knife, infrequent bushcraft, etc. assume I’ll have a hatchet or pack axe with me.
Thanks for the vid, are those Ultralite Bushcrafter sheaths you ordered the same as the Mini Northstar ones? DLT has ones that look exactly like them, but they sell it as the Mini Northstar…
Good rundown of these models, thanks. I’m not the biggest fan of black knives /guns either, but Bark River’s black Micarta is really a nice dark brown, and I can more than live with it.
I agree on points. But I think the Garberg is overpriced and not good at slicing food. We don't call it a full tang here but a protruding stick tang. The Clipper is different from the Companion since the Clipper has a much shorter but broader stick tang. The steel on the Garberg is 14C28N. The steel on the Garberg is 3,2mm, same as on the Companion HD and even the Mora Robust. The difference is in the spine. So I guess 50 dollar would be a reasonable price for this plastic handle knife but they are 75 dollar. For that price I can get a Joker knife, even in the same steel, with nice micarta or wooden handle and a thick leather dangler sheath even with matching fire steel. So there are options available and you get more quality for the same price.
If I’m going to baton I will use an ax . The owner of one of the company you are displaying Told me that he uses a folding knife in the field . So all of your talking is crap. You’re not Daniel Boon LOL Unbelievable.
Hey brother, so you know the BRK Bushcrafter knife. It has a skandivex grind. Now tell me how you TRULY sharpen a convex skandi grind. It is not possible. I'll stick to my flat Skandi. Tell me.differently that you can magically sharpen a convex skandi in CPM3v. No way you are sharpening it effectively.
You smashed this video bruv! Absolutely awesome and amazing! Shows the versatility and toughness of the bark river knives for sure! Watching from the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in Canada and you got a new subscriber out of me bruv! Cheers, Jerbs #22ADAY 👍🏼🇺🇸🔥🔪🔥🇨🇦👍🏼
Wow nice. My only bark river knife is a Bravo 1.25 lt 3v. It's still sharp but I have been hesitant to resharpen it on my wicked edge cause I don't want to change the grind on it. Just been stropping it. I believe bark river will sharpen it for free but I also feel thats kind of silly when I have a high end knife sharpener & I would have to send it in. Opinions?
Please, when you are showing items to us STOP bouncing the product up and down so we have have a chance to look the item over. Be nice to tell us the thickness of the blade and length. Thanks
For pocket folders I do carry a PM2 a lot of the time, then also then 940, and then a ZT640, in that order. But I carry a fixed blade when all possible and usually a ULB! Keep up the videos they are great!
Mora Carbon is much Harder! The Stainless , 12c27 is harden to 56 to 58 HRC , the Carbon C100 is a Rockwell Hardness betwin 59 - 60 HRC, and i Had testet IT!
I was very interested in this knife , but that handle variation of thickness throws me off. It's not an inexpensive knife , and I want to be sure I get a thicker handle. So it is kind of a crap-shoot what I'm gonna get. Thanks for the good review on these!
