Here I talk about some of the best knives in general or for EDC carry, Since I have started to carry these knives for EDC I carry a fixed blade all the time as I find them more useful and versatile.
Great video, great insight. My only suggestion would be that if you’re going to show your knives to the viewer, bring your camera a little closer or bring the knife closer to the camera so that we can all get a good look at what you’re explaining.
You are completely on point regarding wooden scales. Micarta (especially in matte finish) is the only way to go with G10 as an option only when you can't find the knife you want in micarta scales. Too bad I haven't seen your video earlier, I now own too many with wooden handles. They look and feel so nice, though...
I love my Gunny Hunter Elmax and my Lionsteel M4 Black G10, The Lionsteel M4 is very inexpensive for M390 steel and the processing quality is outstanding 😉
Love my Mountain Man in CPM 3V but I use it mostly for food processing. I wouldn't use it as a main wood processor but if u decide to PLEASE SHARE your experience. Good vid!
Great content!. I’m looking for a bark river edc. Are those sheathes for the north country’s stock? They don’t look like that now and I prefer your sheath much more. Do you know what those sheathes are designated?
Thanks for the review, I just received my North Country EDC today and I agree with you 100%, this is one of the most underrated knives Bark River has to offer. What sheath are you using for them? Apparently they discontinued the old style that came with it and Im not too keen on this new one so Im looking for other options. I enjoy your reviews, keep up the good work!
Hello, just happened apon your channel. Hope you are continuing to do videos. An really enjoy your content an will continue to check your channel out. If I am to guess you are probably headlong into your career. I wish you well sir.
I like you choice of knives. I think next time you make a video like this, it might be better to show the knives close up. I did like your backdrop but the knives are the featured stars.
Great video, and thanks for sharing your collection and favorites. I am considering a BR for EDC also, what do you think of the Bravo EDC vs the Northstar EDC? The only small BR I have is the Pro Scalpel II in elmax, and since snapping off the tip I am leaning towards something with a little heavier/thicker stock. What would you recommend?
I hate to hear that about your knife, try contacting bark river, they have one of the best warrantees in the business. I personally like the Northstar EDC or the Ul bushcrafter for EDC, I like the full size bravo but for a smaller knife I find it has too much belly for what tasks that I use a smaller knife for, but to each his own.
Cool video , i have bark river knives all over the house , expensive hobby BTW if you get time water that greenery behind you ,, looks a little dehydrated ..
I have not had one in had but the looks of it seems to be interesting. Im not a fan of knives that have a loop for your finger, I also have a material arts and knife fighting back ground and those are a good way to break your finger and knuckle.
Great video bud. Ive watched a few of yours now. Though this is an older vid, i have a question. Do you still own the mountain man knife? And would you be willing to trade for it? Been looking and wanting one for quite a while now.
The Woodsman School and Guide Service thanks man I really appreciate that. I’m a big fan of your channel! If I still had the knife I would be more than happy to work out a trade, unfortunately I traded it off, believing that I would be able to pick another one up. I haven’t been able to find another in the handle material I’m looking for. I would suggest you join the bark river boys Facebook group if you aren’t already a member of the group. If you post on there you are looking for one I’m sure someone will shake one loose. Those guys love to trade. I hope that was helpful and I really appreciate you watching.
Jared Lane I just use plain mineral oil from Walmart or a drugstore. It’s a couple bucks for a huge bottle that has lasted years. Thanks for commenting
