4:12 This feels like a Star Wars Refrence, but the movie came out first in 1977. And this ad was from the 60s. This proved that they predicted the Star Wars intro.
"You get more out of life when you go out to see a movie" Love old timey marketing. They didn't suggested thinks like ads from today. They made fully confident statements. I guess that boldness worked back then.
I'm not lying I kinda get emotional watching this. The music, the visuals. I just love the 60s American suburbia feel this gives off. In a way... This feels like America. Im not lying idk why im crying watching this.
Imagine if there was a drive in ad that went like: First guy: hey id like the entire shipment of popcorn that you have on the property, and ill take 300 hot dogs for two people Clerk: Dang son your gonna load up your car with all that ? First Guy: Its for our popcorn and hot dog loaf were preparing with sour cream and Sardines Clerk: well ok 1000 dollars please Announcer: your family's kitchen might be fancy with all those Shrimp Sardine and Jello salads, but please leave a decent amount of food for all others at this drive in and dont be a hoarder. My mother bought a box of mac and cheese with a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup because the chef boyardee wasn't budget friendly. Bonus: Momma always left about half a centimeter of the soup for me to carefully scrape from the can while she cooked. Must have been annoying as a dog worrying a dry bone, but Momma was patient like that. Thanks, Chef, for inspiring us poor folks with the sheer adaptability of pasta! The man should RIP knowing how he helped fill small bellies with food that lasted.
