www.zazzle.co.uk/samkar www.squidoo.com/vintage-drive-... Yep, it's another of those wonderful old time LIVE commercials for Coca-Cola, this one is from 1953
It's kinda amazing the improvements we've made in technology since then too. My grandparents probably seen this commercial as kids and now they have a 4k TV sitting in their living room connected to internet that can receive at least 10,000 times more data than an old TV.
it doesnt need to have cocaine but the sugar in coke has the same affect on human brain that cocaine has.So you can understand why people are addicted to sugar.:-(
I still remember the old Coca Cola bottles. My family used to buy 12 Coca Cola bottles in a wooden crate down the street. That sundry shop is no longer around. I missed those years.
I'm here to enjoy the video. I looked up these old commercials because we watched a couple in my American history class. They're entertaining. I don't hate regular people or mainstream culture. I'm simply annoyed by people who romanticize a time that wasn't the rainbows and sunshine you make it out to be. Every time period had its good times and bad times, but none were the perfect "good ol days."
yes, back then drinks were served in much smaller glasses. Unlike today where you get served in a quart sized cup. This is one of the reasons why people weigh so much more today. I sus pect restaurants started serving such huge portions because they could get a bigger discount buying in bulk. They got a discount, passed the large portion on to the customer, the customer in turn felt like they were getting a lot for the money, and in turn the restaurant got more business
Unwarranted Self Importance well it’s a good thing I’m not black plus their is still people hating on blacks nothing has changed the world is never perfect
I wish I had that Coke banner behind those ladies, kept in great shape, vintage Coke things can be thousands and thousands of dollars, wouldn't be surprised if some things of Coke could be as high as a million dollars
Another video for us to tell our children once in time there was nation where optimism had no limits and the good feeling everything is going right was in everywhere. Gotta love America. And get to see it's sinking right ahead of our eyes.
Something to point out here- they're advertising drinking Coke as a treat when you're out and about. People now sip on soda one after another. Same with snacks and fast food. What used to be a treat is now every day for the average American. Notice the portion size difference, too?
The Coca Cola bottle has hardly changed, save for the logo which used to be embossed on the bottle but now it is printed with color red and white. I have an antique coke bottle retrieved from a sunken sea vessels in the 1940's which is very much the same as the current bottle.
another reason cars today all look alike is "wind tunnel testing" for areodynamics. Years ago the auto makers couldn't care less about areodynamics (although Chrysler was experementing with it in the 30s). when fuel economy became the main issue that led to wind tunnel testing, that led to cars that basically all looked alike conforming to the body shape requirements of sleek areodynamics
I don't know about you, but if I'm ever around a jukebox, or one of those old-fashioned table-top jobs like the one in this commercial, I ALWAYS spend my hard-earned quarters on PRODUCT JINGLES! Doesn't everyone?!? I was in a cafe on Route 66 the other day, and I ordered a grape Nehi with my grilled cheese sandwich that came with a choice of potato salad or cole slaw. I had the slaw. Anyway, when I went to play the Nehi Pop jingle, IT WASN'T THERE! I got up and left! Boy was I steaming!
Back in the 1960s, in the summer, we would often grab two six-packs of delicious, ice-cold Coca-Cola in King Size (10oz) bottles and a barrel of Kentucky Fried Chicken and go to Deer Park in Newport News or to Chic's Beach in Virginia Beach.
They should bring back those table jukebox's..but instead of the jukebox..they should be table ipod jukebox's where you can play whatever music is available for download.
Its really odd that people only call times they like "regular" and every else era "non regular". Yeah, they are dreaming a nice dream where only your favorite time is the regular time.
