I had this done April 2024. BEST gift I have EVER given my 68 year old body. I was stage 4 osteoarthritis......bone on bone. I requested my surgeon take a pic of the femoral head and he did! What a mess it was lol The nurse was surprised that I had been walking for as long as I did. Born with hip dysplasia and suffered all of my life this new hip has given me a new life! Fascinating video this is.
As a patient having this done tomorrow morning, it’s left me just speechless and in awe of the skill involved in performing these surgical procedures. I’m 57 and the nerves are starting a little but I like being educated as much as I can before going into any surgery. This video is without a doubt, the best and most involved I’ve seen yet. Beyond professional! You’re putting my mind at ease more and more. Thank you♥️
@@alipaag1234 If it’s any consolation, I’m 13 wks post-op, walking around, doing household tasks, even painted my fridge Black today and have climbed the pool ladder 6 times or so together in there and do some PT! That feels sooooo good! Just saw my surgeon this past Tuesday and he was very happy! I wish you the best!
I watched your video from Turkey. God bless all our doctors. Without you, life would stop. I had surgery on April 4 due to decreased blood supply to the femoral head. ....
Thanks so much all those involved for this excellent video. I had my THR 7 weeks ago and I have finally mustered the courage to watch what happens. Truly I am in awe of you guys with what you do. It was all so well and clearly explained too.
Thank you for sharing this educational video. It is very informative. Have you tried using Smart Hip Wizard, Find Femur and Position Template functions? Smart Hip consists of leg length discrepancy, femoral head diameter and femoral offset measurements. The Smart Hip wizard will also give you post-op measurements when the template is placed allowing you to monitor changes in leg length and offset as you change the position of the cup and femoral stem. Moreover, the software uses SmartHip measurements to pre-position and pre-size the template and as a result, it will reduce the number of manual steps required to get the initial template size and position it roughly in a right place.
@Bren Veziroglu - I guess I need to try this to root cause my pain on the shoulder thingy which is preventing me to do my handstands. I guess if you can help me in some kind of rehab which I can try, I can work on my strength. 🙂
