I don’t understand what you’re saying that is so wrong they’re not there to know about your life or I like to go on vacation. I got my first Daytona and day date Olive Green with a non-month apart less than a year.
Shits just ridiculous what the world has come to . People dying , suffering , hungry . Yet look at this table in a nut shell why we won't survive much longer .
The perceived scarcity of Rolex watches has indeed forced many collectors into the secondary grey market, often leading to feelings of frustration and betrayal, especially for those who have invested time and loyalty in attempting to purchase directly from authorized retailers. Worldwide, collectors express deep concern over how Rolex seems to have no watches available for sale while the grey market offers an abundance of both new and used models. It appears that Rolex may sell to the grey market at MSRP, allowing these dealers to profit significantly by marking up prices. This transaction benefits Rolex through volume sales, while the grey market reaps substantial profits, leaving consumers as the ultimate losers. The allure of grey market options, including super clones, is particularly tempting due to their greater availability and often lower prices. While these replicas generate buzz and visibility for the Rolex brand, they also blur the lines of authenticity and value for collectors who prioritize genuine pieces. Rolex’s stringent distribution practices and fake wait list exacerbate this disconnect, creating a scenario where passionate enthusiasts feel sidelined, manipulated, and ignored. This situation has sparked important discussions about brand loyalty, market ethics, and the implications of a divided landscape for both collectors and the brand itself. It’s a fascinating yet frustrating evolution that reflects broader trends in luxury goods and consumer behavior. With the rise of social media and global communication, Rolex may find itself at a crossroads, struggling to maintain its prestigious image while adapting to a rapidly changing market. Times have certainly changed, and the brand’s future may not mirror its storied past.
Great information, I bought my first Rolex last October, 2 tone sub which was what I wanted, but now I want a steel less bling watch and my ad is ignoring my request. Been waiting almost a year and nothing. Oh well. Not that important. I don’t have the time to stop in and rub his balls so I can drop 10-12 k on a watch. Just seems really ridiculous to me.
Don’t like to say it but I’d agree with most of what you say I’ve read the comments he’s not talking crap it’s just the way it is I’d rather play the game and save 3 thousand on a watch than pay a grey market dealer over the odds. Having said that I’ve been lucky and I’ve got my watches quicker than I was originally told
Rolex Market is crashing like mad. Can't wait till you actually have to get a real job, and do some work for the first time in your life. Lazy Gen Z waster with a crap moustache
As soon as the warranty card is activated Rolex knows how long that ad has had that piece before selling that watch. If gold pieces hang around they won’t allocate them to that ad. They’ll allocate them to ads who sell gold pieces quick for example to the middle east or Asia where gold is still popular.
It's more likely Rolex will want us to purchase gold pieces first (which are otherwise not selling) in order to then offer the steel pieces. This would make business sense since the bulk of their profits are in gold pieces.
They make a fortune selling gold watches ? but nobody want them ! Back to making Steel to keep the AD's lights on ! Its that easy to see , paying over RRP on steel sports is PLAIN NUTS ! Watch dealers need to keep the hype to make a living
I'd rather spend a few extra thousand on the gold DD at an AD to be honest. It's a brand new watch with no doubt as to its provenance, full warranty, guaranteed to not be polished to fuck, and you build the AD relationship. Another grey dealer talking his book SMH.
100% worth it to pay extra With an authorized dealer. It’s just piece of mine that you are getting an authentic piece what they warranty. Plus you are building a relationship an AD
No way. You’re AD relationships works one way. They take your money and keep stringing you along. There are so few watches you can make money on now that the loss you take on an a gold watch wont cover it.
I think Phil's point of view on gold watches assumes that people only buy watches with flipping and resale in mind. Not true. Many buy watches from the AD to wear and love, not to resale. Those days are gone
And if you are buying a luxury watch, you want the luxury purchase experience. Not some due arriving with a ruck sack. Maybe when pre owned gets even cheaper but for now the AD is the way to go if you want to wear the watch (rather than flip it)
Yeah, he talks about timepieces like a fish market. Not every views watches as commodities to be flipped. Unless they are other dealers or money washers, a customer will want to premium experience and authenticity assurance when buying a luxury piece.
I bought my 126715chnr from the AD. I enjoyed the wait it was fun. Gold Rolex is new car money, Would folk rather buy a new car from a guy with no showroom, parked outside his house or go to the dealer. I know which I'd do
What’s happened? At the turn of 2024 Phil’s watches were priced really well but for last few months his stock in most cases are about a grand more than other dealers 🤔 I’m glad he’s doing well and hope he smashes it but being more expensive with no store front is going to be an issue. I personally don’t think you should take the overheads on,but pricing needs too be very competative.
he is probably listing other dealers watches in the hopes of catching a few buyers from youtube and not holding expensive stock he is often nipping into trotters and could even get sale or return on some of the models they are over stocked with but they still need paying
@@RocketDog73 Time wasters! 👀 People with money are not interested in tatty gold chains lol and used Rolex. Most of the clientele near the royal exchange are more likely to buy omega or Vacheron as they have no need to flaunt.
A lot of people who buy full gold pieces don’t really care about the cost. However, if you go back before the pandemic, discounting full gold at the A.D. was quite common. I’m sure it is quietly happening as we speak. Those discounts won’t be steep enough to compete with used pieces on the gray market, but it’s happening now.
Went to my AD last week to buy a watch for my father he wanted a Bruce Wayne on oyster but wasn’t 100%sure so the AD showed him quite a few others including bi-metal datejust . The AD told us we could buy the datejust on the day no wait and only a short wait for the rose gold yacht master and bluesy can’t believe how times have changed . He did chose the Bruce Wayne and told us around 18 month wait hopefully we won’t wait that long the other watches a have bought have arrived sooner than he originally said fingers crossed
4:37 You say that Root Beers are trading below retail, even for brand new 2024 models, but your listing prices don’t reflect that. What am I missing here?
Well done on your success. Sticking with it and making good now. Friend of mine was offered the rose gold day date, took it and flipped it only making £400. This was just to get on the list for something he wanted.
You got them from an AD, second hand? No one walks into a store and buys 5 of these models new, you should clarify that mate. They’re all second hand watches, that is important to mention. Good vid, cheers
I have “real” watches and a lot of them. I have a friend who buys the AMZWATCH we put them side by side and guess what ?! It’s unbelievable!!! I am at the Rolex boutique with her and no one can tell he has a fake
Basically, kiss their ass and hope they give you what you want. Lol, buy something else to be allowed to buy what you want? No thanks. Grey market, here I come
Aps are rubbish - they dont keep time - always need servicing - have owned 5/6 and never had one work a year without some sort or problem. 10 years ago their service was great now its terrible. Many better options TBH
