Myanmar Imperial University was established in 2004 as the very first leading private university in Myanmar. It was founded by Myanmar citizens U Phyo Maung Maung and Daw Poht Poht Kyi with an initial capital investment of US$2,000. Although it initially started with only four students, the university now boasts a close-knit network of 4,000 graduates and more than 1,400 registered students studying at the university.
