I remember setting up that game to play on a auditorium movie color projector i set it up to run on a fall wall in the house and me and my family wife 2 kids played it for days sleeping on the floor literately camping out lol this was when the 64 emulator had come out that would run it flawlessly i guess that must have been about 24 years ago or about it was a time of great joy and family effort to kick ass making a life long lasting memory the commercial grade projector was acquired from a outlet of amazing equipment Boeing surplus only a few miles from my home i had access to SGI reality systems Sun IBM and many other crazy rack sever and monster computers at the time .. This remake would be amazing its hard to imagine that Nintendo switch hasn't done this not even with the n64 .The movie wall was about 10 feet high and about 20 feet long and we took as much of that as possible lol best ever .
Kind of hope they have toggles for some of the new gameplay changes. I'm all for them going with their vision but it'd be neat to have the option to play it closer to the original gameplay.
I recently bought an OG xbox, to play this, Morrowind, and Kotor. Primarily for this since KOTOR and Morrowind are on PC. I'm part of a discord for GDL remaster... but they said ten years...
What keeps me coming back is the world and how it was built how dark it is showing how of it would happen how many would have to change how they think is it worth going on or giving up.
Stoked that there's so many other fans dying for a remaster. Played this nonstop on gamecube back in the day and I plan on getting an og xbox soon just so I can play this gem again with friends who've never played it before
Dashing/charging can stagger generals. Also, dashing mid atk can quick stop the animation and essentially give you rapid fire if you get good at the timing. You can also use heavy atk to make a golem block, ensuring he’ll be open for a well timed super atk. Hard mode increases the range of mob projectiles I believe. They shoot off screen. For me, I only use shop after beating a boss. Otherwise it’s too easy restocking between levels. And if I’m playing multiplayer I try to encourage friendly fire mode. It’s what makes team supers so useful. Lastly I use robotron controls for twin-stick shooting and easier rapid-fire glitch.
My opinion on the 2nd game being not f2p: while I don't mind shilling 20 bucks or so for it, I can imagine it pacing itself away from many people to try it out. Afterall, the charm of this game is you banding with a bunch of people who know nothing about the game, then bond as you go along and try to survive. With the game costing money, people will be more serious about survival, rather than having wholesome "wtf is happening" moments like in previous title.
I really hope this takes off and we are able to get a long overdue remaster of this classic game. I can’t wait to play through with the secret characters and the code ones. Do you think there could be any DLC with this game or maybe a sequal to this one with more secret characters and maybe a character creator?
Music from the Ghost Town level in the Forsaken Province in the first part of the video 🔥 dark legacy has an amazing soundtrack and this might be the best song
Absolutely fantastic video!! I completely agree with you on the amount of pure nostalgia this game brings me. Definitely the most nostalgia game of all time for me
Gauntlet is one of my top favourite games from childhood. I recently beat it again with my girlfriend who had never previously played. Excited to see somebody is working on bringing it to more modern systems. I joined the Discord server a while ago to learn more about the project, see its progress and maybe support it somehow. However, I was banned almost as soon as I joined for no reason as I haven't even sent any messages or interacted with anybody in the server :/ I'd love to be able to check it out one day though. I don't know why I was banned since I pretty much just joined and nothing else, but if there's a mod that I could reach out to to review that ban, it'd be cool.
born in 2003, this game was terrifying. remembered it a couple months ago and havent been able to get it out of my mind. happy to see this being made and seeing if it could possibly cure? my fixation of this game
21; i grew up playing legends on my dad's n64. he got legends because he grew up playing the original atari cabinets. in turn i grew up playing legends. from all i've heard Dark Legacy is essentially Legends but with extra goods.
This is the type of remake I wanted to see, I was hoping that Nightdive Studios would get around to this game to remaster it! But since it already is getting a remake I'm hyped! Especially playing it on the PC.
Oh, this is amazing. I love GDL. Other renditions of the game just aren't the same for me. GDL, for me, is simple to play, but challenging enough to never get boring. And by simple to play, I mean there isn't much you, as a player, have to do move along. Just shoot and solve a few puzzles here and there. You don't have to reload, you don't have to talk to NPCs. It's the ultimate adventure game. I know the low-poly might turn some people off, but I love it. I love the soundtrack. I love everything about GDL. So, I hope not much is changed. But if it is, I still have an old x-box that works when she wants to and a CD of the game when I need that trip down memory lane, I'm excited to explore and see what this group produces, nonetheless!
I believe that is a map made by the Dark Legacy remaster developer that is in charge of further developing lore and backstory. So it’s not necessarily a map of the original Dark Legacy, but it is a representation of the remaster’s map/game world, which is further expanding on the original game’s backstory and world.
Im 24 my brother and I have been playing GDL since we were little and still do to this day. Its always had a different feeling than any other game. I thought we were the only ones playing but im stoked to see how many people love it. Im genuinely excited for this thank you to the team thats making this happen! Nerf cloud 9.
I am so happy to hear many other fans exist, even more passionate than I. And that this remaster and a discord community exists. I just played GDL for the first time again since I was a kid and beat it with my wife. Now I want to play more of the series. I'd love to meet others who do too!
