I think they wanted to be together, but neither of them was willing to give up their careers. After Jack came back from retiring the first time, think he missed the Air Force, the action and he didn't want to give it up, not even for Sam. Carter, I know in the espiode"Grace" when she was on the ship by herself and "Jack" shows up, she says what if I quit the Air Force ,would that change anything, then Jack says would never ask her to give up her career. It was the relationship that should have been, but wasn't meant to be.
I love these two together. I hate that the show put them in a relationship for one episode then made them forget all about it. Daniel was terrified of loving Vala and trying to convince himself he didn't have feelings for her, he didn't realize he was genuinely hurting her and that she was serious. I think she was always serious in her attraction to him, then developed into love when she got to know him

My all time favorite couple in a TV series ❤. Carter was my idol when I was an insecure teenage girl and was picked on at school for being too much of ”a geek”. Watching Stargate really helped me get through some tough moments back then.

This was epic. It had almost every single Jack & Sam moment, glance, or scene. Ugh. I love this pair so much. It’s insane how much I still crave to see their relationship confirmed on screen. We all know they ended up together based off the writing of the series and follow up series and comments made by writers/producers, but dang I wanna see it. Correction: I need to see it.
