I am a retired museum professional, a wife, a mother and grandmother who enjoys sharing my knowledge of cooking and canning. I was born and raised in the Columbia Valley in the heart of the southern interior region of British Columbia. Both my parents were born here so our roots run deep and I love to share information about my family and their relationship to food. I hope you will join me in my journey.
So interesting to see someone using the electric frypan,I was beginning to think we only use them in Australia,I couldnt be without one.Love your channel, you are such a lovely lady
Good looking recipe - haven’t had Brussels sprouts cooked that way. The electric frying pan sliding around makes me so nervous! Maybe put it on a non skid pad. Stay safe!
Hi Colleen. I made this today, and it's very good. But when I watched your video I see that you added soya sauce, which is not listed in the ingredients list. So I am wondering what difference the soya sauce makes? Should I add it after the fact? I probably won't, this time, but may try it next time (and there will be a next time!). I live alone since my husband went to heaven, so a big pot of goulash isn't something I can eat all on my own right away. So I will freeze one-serving bags tomorrow, and will enjoy it over the next while. Thank you, dear friend, for sharing this recipe with us. I realize I am late to the party so you may not see this, but I hope you do so you can know that we, our here, are still watching your videos and enjoying your recipes. God bless.
Hello Colleen, your channel just came up in my suggestions. This recipe sounds so good! It’s nice to watch a cook that is so friendly and calm. I’ve subbed ❤
I just subscribe to your channel I love Brussels spouts and corn so I know I would enjoy these they look absolutely delicious 😋 thanks for sharing friend 🙏🏾❤️
Thank you Colleen. Both of these side dishes look delicious. My husband won’t eat the Brussel Sprouts but if I cut the recipe in half, i can make it with so,e leftover for the next day. I will definitely try. God bless you.❤️✝️🙏🇺🇸
I am so fortunate because my husband eats almost everything. He doesn't care for eggplant but it's easy to cook without that. I hope you do fix it for yourself. Best wishes!
Both those dishes look delicious. I am a fan of Brussels Sprouts but have not had them fixed like this. I want to try the corn also. Happy Thanksgiving!
Wow - I am really excited to find panettone made in a bread machine. I just bought one, but it's small - just makes 1lb. I'll have to adapt a recipe. I love panettone & every Christmas I search for one. This is my 2nd bread machine - gave the first to Goodwill when we downsized. Now all I have to do is find a good orange peel which is what I like most. I would never have thought of panettone if I hadn't seen this video so thank you very much.
I like your buttering the pan idea, thank you. I have a good peanut butter fudge recipe that I also use to make Christmas trees santa and Easter eggs out of. Then dip them in chocolate. It makes 71/2 pounds. Sorry not a microwave recipe.
Love noticing you have to use an extension cord too - - I am so short I can't use my countertop for Nesco Canner, break machine etc. but my island isn't electrified - so cord is imperative. Am a little leary about using one but asked son and he said as it was made for a window AC it would be fine. I usually make my Gma's southern candied sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving - but this looks wonderful - think I'll change it up.
I love pumpkin pancakes but I goofed forgot the eggs (duh) I had made 6 then realized I forgot it so I added some to the leftover batter,,I really couldn’t tell a difference in taste but it was in my head so I threw the ones without eggs in the trash
Loved your recipes and you are correct some of us may have never fixed these. Will be trying them both for sure. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Deviled eggs were a given at any family gathering or church potluck. Maynaise mustard horseradish black pepper green olives. Salt comes from the olives. Paprika was a given but I don't use. I remember CHEESE PENNIES. Asparagus in season would be Spring. Fruits and vegetables were used fresh in season.
Colleen, I love your haircut! I took a few screenshots to show my stylist. She couldn't seem to understand how to cut the back and always turned me into a boy.
Your poor sister should have some freshly made creamed corn (or even the McKensie's frozen in a tube). It is so much better than that stuff in a can! I'm from South Carolina, and my mother would make it with fresh corn. It took a lot of stirring so it wouldn't stick and that was my job. If you go to a family reunion here, that is one of the most sought-after dishes. I've never been a big brussels sprouts fan, but it is popular now to roast it in an air fryer.
I made these chicken thighs two nights ago and they were outstanding!! I served them with mashed potatoes and Stove Top Stuffing and it was like Thanksgiving!! The sauce over the potatoes and stuffing is amazing! Thanks for sharing ❤
I like both corn and Brussel sprouts. I need to try that. I’m in the USA, but I want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving in Canada. How are Thanksgiving is in November.

Thank you... never will get hubby to try the sprouts but the corn looks like I can convince him.. if I dont tell him about the cream cheese. He is so picky.
