Hospitality is very rare anymore. I started attending a Bible Study and the hostesses never offered anything. No water, snacks etc. The home was in a wealthy part of my state so it could not have been money. I did not continue to attend, because it bothered me too much I guess. I did say something and the response was the study was later evening at 7pm so the hosts felt like this was after most people’s dinner. I later attended another study in a different part of town….also very upscale home and the same thing happened. It’s so weird to me. I am in my 60’s I guess times have changed. Back in the 90’s ever Bible Study I attended always had snacks etc. It’s wonderful to see that you offered such a delightful dessert to your guests.
I'm 72 and have taken up an interest in baking thanks to you, Colleen. I can't think of any other RU-vidr whose lessons have taught me more or whose recipes I actually use. And I posted a link to your bread machine recipes on my FB page.
I am really enjoying your channel!! You have opened my eyes to using my bread machine strictly on the dough setting..then baking the different breads in the oven. Thank you for your calm instructional videos. You are appreciated!
Lovely recipe! I'm a new sub, just found you with your hamburger gravy (Depression meal) video. I'm 62 and remember eating burger gravy and creamed chipped beef, my dad was in the Navy and we didn't always have lots of money for food, but I never realized that until I was grown, lol. They always made sure my sisters and I ate before they did! I Just grew my very 1st garden this year and just started canning! I was a busy RN for 37 years, now disabled and on a tight budget. I make homemade cream cheese when my food pantries give me an abundance of milk! Just made some yesterday. I got about 3 cups of it from 1.5 gallons of milk! It is very good too! I'm so proud of all the new things I've learned to do. Appreciate your video and wanted to tell you I think you are a great teacher! I know it's not easy making these videos! Thanks again.
I just made fig preserves yesterday. They are so good in the puff pastry pockets. I made 8 pints so that should last me for my buttermilk biscuits and puff pastry pockets.
Colleen, what a treasure you are, and this dessert🤗, wow, so simple yet classy!! Making this for next women's luncheon!! M in Az 🌞 Thanks again. Blessings 💓💌
Omg! I just saw that you have a video to make English muffins!! I am super excited to watch that. Can you tell? lol. I like making breakfast sandwiches with them, then freezing them.
Hi🙋 this recipe was just what I was looking for. I want to make as gesture of thanks for someone. Subbed and looking forward to seeing what else you bake. Have a great day 😊
That looks delicious Colleen..I'll be making that for sure..I might try cutting the pastry in smaller squares to make individual pieces...Thank you so much for this video...your food always comes together beautiful..and you explain everything to a T...thank you ..I'm sure your quests will be impressed...Have a great day..😊
That looks fancy and delicious! Here in the US We buy Pepperidge Farm puff pastry which comes with 2 sheets per box. They are thinner and would require less rolling.
Looks delicious. By the way your bread recipe is awesome, I could not get it right in the bread machine. Family absolutely raves over it. Have a good snowy day.
Yes,that looks good. Yummy butter everything is better with butter on it or bacon. Heehee beautiful crust 😊❤ dusted with powdered sugar! 🎉wow 🎊 😊🎉 everything a party!❤😂🎉😅😊
This looks delicious. I'm a bit jealous of your snow. We usually get a bit where we are but for the last two years we haven't gotten any. Thanks so much for sharing.
Oh Colleen, that looks amazing ! It was a cool rainy day here in Tennessee today . It’s always nice to serve a little treat at any gathering . Thank You for sharing this! Blessings to you!
This looks absolutely scrumptious, will definitely try making a half sized version of this as I am widowed & live alone. Thanks for sharing Colleen 💗, I really enjoy your channel, sending you a wave 👋 from Scotland 🏴 Hope that spring finally arrives for you very soon 🌷🪺, & that your guests enjoyed both your baked berry pastry slice & your welcoming hospitality.🥰 💖
