i am glad to see that you guys are going for quality before quantity, unlike some other companies. it is sad that the demo is delayed but it is good to hear that it is worked on and avoiding mistakes of the past
When I saw the gameplay, my whole body started shaking. I'm so hyped, I can't wait to play this masterpiece! Take the time you need. Don't make the same mistake as AAA Publishers!
Not a very good showcase, honestly. I want to see Rayman jumping around and running, not walking slowly like its a The Last of Us or God of War demo showcase. And most importantly, tone down Rayman's grunts by like 90%, and he shouldn't be thinking out loud AT ALL during gameplay. Ill do say that the graphics look just as great as I was expecting. Take all the time that you need for development! Good luck!!
A little sad for the delayed demo but no worries, I'm still thankful that you guys are taking your time for making this project beyond our expectations! This is unbelievable to think Rayman 2 would be remade by skilled fans and we figure how this game had a significant impact during our childrood and VG industry. Keep it up everyone!
Please do NOT pay attention to some of these idiotic comments. This looks amazing, and the directions and voices are amazing. I'd love to see a different take on Rayman 2 and changing up some of the level design instead of playing the same game again.
It's too much different from the original game..the different soundtrack, the changed gameplay, new level sections,Rayman talking during the level...it's a very respectable work in any case, but I'm not in a hurry to see it come out
I'm sure the new voice actors are good and talented, but Rayman 2 doesn't really sound like Rayman 2 for many people (most people i bet) without the gibberish language.
It's very cool! I really like the improvement and the remake visuals you guys are going for! A small improvements I would give is a little vfx of water when Rayman slides on the water would give more juiciness to the mechanic!
Looks amazing! I love how much the helicopter and ceiling climb animations look and feel like Rayman 3. I don't like the Lum sound so much. Needs to be faster and dirtier, maybe EQ filtered. In my opinion, anyway. I'm nostalgia biased, because that one sound effect stuck in my head the most after I played the Dreamcast demo. The dynamic music sounds awesome in this snippet! I like the new tracks that still capture the vibe of the old ones. Seeing this much of the game so far has truly been worth the wait, and I know the demo next year will be too.
The game looks fantastic. I wonder how it goes, since I see the game footage is looking nothing like the original. It's whole gameplay will be altered?
I don't like VA version of Rayman and no offense I don't think this voice fits, like he's trying to sound like Goku?. But if you must use VA then the voice is too in my ears, it should sound further away like the rayman jumping and climbing voice sound effects are
Why do all remakes have this doughy plastic look to them. I miss when 3d games had some dark grit in their graphics. Why cant we just have the original style scaled up? This looks like disney infinity.
@@alextechnogamer6120okay so you replied to my good faith comment with a similar level of dismissiveness. Being critical isn't nitpicking, it's wanting the best for the project. How can a creator know where they need to improve, when people keep withholding that information? Let people give some good faith criticism, it helps creators grow.
@@MochaRitz that’s perfectly fine, but there’s also a difference between constructive and destructive criticism just because one game isn’t 100% the same as the original, and the “critique” by the interested party seemed anything but constructive to me.… 🤷♂️ My objection comes from the fact that you’re criticising the artistic direction of the remake mainly because you’re probably against the respective remakes of old school platformers like Crash and Spyro from which New Dawn Games is taking inspiration; different speech, however as regards some other factors you mentioned such as their management of this seven-year old project certainly improvable… 😌
@@alextechnogamer6120I didn't even say I was against those remakes, but Spyro is not Rayman. The fact that the assets in isolation do not feel inspired by their source material, is an issue in my eyes. But yeah, I wouldn't be saying this if one guy was making this, but if they are buying shaders from the asset store, then I'm confused about why they need 30 people. Usually 1 or 2 people rely on assets to fill a gap in the teams abilities.
@@MochaRitz Maybe yours truly is a stubborn person, but you're no joke either, dude… 😅 However yours truly remember they have said on several occasions that they are trying to remake the original game from scratch in a modern way while trying to please the public about the faithfulness to the artistic direction of the original, but keep in mind the latter will never be 100% the original, no matter how hard they try in doing so… 🤷♂️ But in the end it's a matter of opinion, then we'll just have to see what compromise they'll be able to reach in the end… 🤔
i would really try to get ubisoft involved early or use the assets to make an original game if that fails, i mean just swap out the protagonist pretty much, i think its developed enough for ubisoft to decide
I'm kinda not loving the direction this seems to be heading. I feel like there is heavy emphasis on graphical fidelity, while completely ignoring fundamental stuff like a blob shadow, or proper animation blending. I'd expect a slightly better player controller before high poly vine meshes, personally. The gameplay footage feels highly "scripted" in the sense that the person playing is very deliberately trying to sidestep some less favorable aspects, like the anim blending and stopping on a dime looking strange. On another note, the art direction feels very generic, with the grass and rocks looking straight out of a Spyro remake or Super Lucky's Tale or something. Same with the water. This stuff looks like purchased assets that aren't meant for the art style of Rayman 2. There's a lot here that has me worried. Hope to see some stuff sorted out in the future. Edit - changed my comment because I thought there was no roll anim, but looking at older vids there was one? Honestly there is older footage where the animation seems more accurate, what gives?
From an artistic point of view, there's no need to be afraid as I'm convinced that they know what they're doing... 🙂 Of course everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours, but you're wrong if you think that this game will necessarily have to become yet another uninspiredly hyper-realistic remake as if Rayman 2 was somehow a mature game or something... 😒
@@alextechnogamer6120There's a clear distinction between the flat, American saturday morning cartoon vibe of Crash or Spyro and the more painterly, epic, surreal vibe of Rayman 2. I don't think he was implying it had to be some gritty realistic remake, he's just concerned about Rayman 2's artistic integrity being kept in-tact, because it's absolurely essential, which I know New Dawn knows as well.
@@alextechnogamer6120 rayfan is spot on, I'm not implying it should be a hyper-realistic remake, or that it has to be mature. In fact I said nothing close to that, I just feel the artistic integrity is somewhat compromised from what I've seen, and that the footage has issues such as Rayman jumping down from a mesh he's climbing on, only to immediately be put into his walking animation instead of falling. When it's like 2 years into a project, and the main character still doesn't have his falling animation activating properly, I really question if the project is ever gonna see completion. I'm not trying to hate on the efforts on display here, I've just seen MANY misguided fan remakes get canceled because of poor management and planning. I don't want everybody to collectively assume that this one is gonna make it just because the graphics are shiny, there are actual issues on display. And honestly I'm solo deving a game right now, I'm not talking from no experience. I would legit just hop on their team if I had more free time.
@@alextechnogamer6120 What you're saying is exactly the opposite of his point, he's saying they the graphics look fake and uninspired, and not artistically faithful, nobody said anything about the graphics needing to be hyper-realistic
@@MochaRitz One hundred percent agree with your point on animation blending... I also noticed the dropdown from the swinging animation was just the walking animation and came through the comments wondering if anyone had this critique. I also think the game should have either a Rayman talking animation if his thoughts are him speaking, or grey out the screen a tad, or just something to indicate he is talking out loud or thinking in his head. Also, the Glowbox and teensy actor's voice lines peak with a very non-studio microphone quality giving the performances a little less magic in my opinion.
This brings a tear of joy to my eye....'coz it looks OUTSTANDING! 🥲🤩 I can wait for the demo: I'll have plenty of time to get my hands on a decent gaming PC (life long console player)😅....
@@alextechnogamer6120 Don't be so angry at critique, little buddy.😉 Relax, take a moment to simmer down, alright? And if you don't understand that aesthetic (and voiceacting to a smaller extent) is important, then there's no amount of reasoning that can break through your ignorant mindset.😊
@@schnek8927 that’s perfectly fine, too bad you call me angry at everyone who are expressing opinions different than mine even though it seems that my opinions have in turn upset you as you’re doing nothing but insulting me and offending my intelligence while also acting like a cocky guy, very mature of you… 🤣
Hey New Dawn Games. Can you and your friends create more cutscenes like the story including the new prologue, which is added, to consist with The Pirate Ships entering to capture and enslave the loving residents of the planet, volunteers entering the area to fight off the warriors, Rayman and Globox enter the forest to battle the pirates, Rayman being interrupted by Ly during the battle and realizing the Heart of the World being broken and his getting captured, Rayman gasping and getting caught by Ninjaws, and attempting to create a new energy sphere, but gasping: "Oh no! My powers! What will I do?!" when realizing that the Destruction of the World's Heart has taken all of his powers away, Rayman telling Globox to run and save himself to find Ly, Globox saying: "Okay, Rayman. If you say so, I'll try." and obeying and running off, Rayman meeting Admiral Razorbeard and finding someway to escape and planning to make Razorbeard wish he would never have been born, Razorbeard saying: "You know what? That's good! Now let's have at it! Take him away, Ninjaws!", Globox running to a horse pulling a barge with his wife, Uglette, aboard it, dragging it to a town centre, hopping off to borrow a car with the owners having lunch, driving it to a railroad station, crashing the car, getting out, disguising himself as a hobo, entering the booking office, trying to pay for a ticket, only to realize he has no money, walking away along the platform to meet a train hauled by an American 4-4-0 tender engine No. 57 pulling a yellow mail car, green mail car, an orange mail car, a blue mail car, and a caboose, and being piloted by a driver, fireman, cleaner, shunter, and signalman ready to operate, Globox telling them he's a lonely hobo, losing all his money, not able to get a ticket, and needing to get home tonight, boarding the engine's cabin, driving off with the crew on board the train to help him escape, night falling with the train chugging along with the workers stoking the boiler, opening the furnace, and operating the controls, Globox noticing the five workers leaning over the side of the engine, joining them to see a pursuing Baldwin 2-6-0 tender locomotive No. 72 running light and carrying the pirate pursuers aboard and waving weapons and telling them to stop the train and wanting Globox and forbidding them to escape and trying to get them, kneeling and telling the crew to save him and pretending to be a hobo in disguise, explaining the truth about himself being Globox, Rayman's best friend, and having Uglette, his wife, and 650 kids be his family, having escaped the pirates, who had kidnapped Rayman, are attemping to speed up, and are trying to capture him, but are also giving him some chains, bread, water, and, misery for him and poor miserable innocent Rayman, the engine crew deciding to help him escape, speeding their train, stoking the furnace, running through a long tunnel, shooting out the other side, crossing a viaduct next to the woods, reducing steam, braking hard, sending Globox jumping off the train by leaping out of the engine's cab, diving into the woods, leaving his train to disappear with the pursuing locomotive running in hot pursuit and the motley pirate crew waving their weapons and all shouting: "STOP! STOP THAT TRAIN! WE WANT GLOBOX! YOU'LL NEVER ESCAPE! SO JUST STOP THE TRAIN, AND YEAH, WE'LL GET YOU!", causing Globox to laugh at the sight of the train chase, entering a hollow tree to find Ly, getting a silver lum from her, walking into Spyglass Pirate's sack, which catches and ties him up, leaving Spyglass Pirate to laugh and drag him to the prison boat, which will take Globox to the prison ship to meet Rayman, because Rayman Redemption is created, New Dawn Games, my friend.
