Yes, I remember when D.L. Hughley guest hosted The Late Late Show back in 2004 or 2005, because CBS was lookin' for someone to regularly be the host of the show. And it appeared that The Vibe Awards tried to replace The Source Hip Hop Awards, but ultimately they decided not to have either of those shows anymore, because there were too many beefs so we all know what beefs could lead to and that's somebody gettin' they ass whooped or worse killed.

I remember DL had a show on comedy central it touched on things like private prisons and how they use them to profit off of imprisoning black kids and he interviewed a woman in a town that lied to it's black citizens about the water not being poisoned while they warned the white community about the poisoned water. That show got cancelled so fast and I can't find any trace of it anywhere even on Google. Wish I could remember the name of the show. They definitely didn't want him out there speaking that truth.
NWA started it. Dre & Suge jumped in after. when you think of breakout hardcore gangsta rap it was Eazy E & NWA. yeah, Dre was part of it at the beginning but he's talking like Suge set it off. NWA became famous without radio airplay. now that's badass!
