Hi Daisy! Do you edit videos yourself, or have you hired someone? I'm an editor and would love to discuss it if you’re interested.

This is just me probably, but in my projects I try my best to avoid one-time use plastics and other materials that we all know end up in the landfill. Still a work in progress for sure, but masking tapes are sidelined now and minimally used if at all. I substitute all sorts of clamps when I can even if it means the extra hassle setting them up, if the return is doing a little for the planet. Sure, my efforts perhaps are negligible compared to the big polluters, but it takes a pebble and all that jazz, eh?

When we built wooden warships the Admiralty only accepted timber for masts that came from the centre of dense forests. Slow grown and arrow straight reaching up to the light.

Certainly some instruments sound quite different to others but I think it would be impossible to sort them by age in a blind test. Especially if they all had the same strings.

I love watching your videos they are always fascinating with great info, the radius for the body and then the radius for the neck, its great to watch the crafting but the info is gold, people take these things for granted yet if they are not bang on then it will not play good

Hi Daisy, take a look at Adam Savage, the chap off Myth busters. He has his own maker channel on YT and actually sports a measure tattoo on his forearm, which, according to him, he uses all the time. I think he sells stick on tattoos which are copies of the one he wears, might be worth getting one to see if it suits, LOL. The idea of body parts being used as measurements is very old, the thumb knuckle to the tip is often an inch, a hand span, with the hand spread from pinkey tip to thumb tip is six inches, the tip of the middle finger to the tip of the nose is a yard, the foot is, well, a foot. None of these are accurate but when measuring quick and dirty lengths of rope or board feet of timber it's good enough. Way back when, stone masons on a particular cathedral or castle build would be introduced to the master mark, a stone engraved with that sites measurements often based around the master masons appendages, these would be pertinent only to that site, or any other site overseen by that master mason. I enjoy your ramblings and admire your craftsmanship, please tell me that you are used as an exemplar to encourage young ladies into the trades!!! There are still misconceptions and prejudices where there should be none but you do so much to help moves us forward. Keep on making and keep on posting please, you brighten my day. Kind regards, Matt.

brilliant! what an interesting educational engaging video... i am a budding woodworker and I get excited to think that I'm working with something that started growing decades ago, but to work with something that grew MILLENNIUMS ago is just glorious!

That's nice of you to share your terets and leave in the footage of your ticks. There's without a doubt other people suffering from it too watching that can be helped and realise it is nothing to be ashamed of. While i don't suffer from terets, I do suffer from some pretty bad OCD and I can sometimes feel ashamed of my ticks/compulsions too especially if somebody's around though I do try to control it as best I can around others but it does sometimes seep out. The severity of it fluctuates as well with my stress levels and I've had periods where it's almost non-existent and others where it interferes more with my daily life. Love your channel btw, you're extremely talented.

Hi Daisy I have this totally mad idea what makes a vintage instrument and its not only the wood being old, wood is or was a living thing right, so i think all living things have a soul including trees and i also think SOULS DNA and MEMORY are intertwined, so with that said i think not only the age of the instrument but more importantly how often the instrument has been played over all them years and by who gives the instrument this so called vintage sound, so its kind of like the wood through the ages of years and years of being played, the soul of the instrument starts to kind of mature and become wise like an old person does and retain all this info, it has stories to tell through a life time of experiences, like you said a guitar can sit in a living room for years and age, but i don't think it would sound even half as good as one that was the same age and has been played 10's of thousands of times and hours for all them years just the same as a person who is not very well travelled or experienced in life, even if very old they can be bland and have no stories to tell compared to a well traveled person kind of thing , so yeh i think an instrument will only be truly vintage if its old and has been played for years upon years as it will retain a lot of the music played on it within its soul, it will settle into a specific style and genre, example if its been a strummer all its life i think it will always sound best as one even if it was initially created as a picking/plucking instrument and vice versa or if its had a certain type of genre played on it it will never sound as good if then suddenly you try play a different genre, its kind of hard to explain but i really do think if you give the instrument a life and awaken it soul and look after it properly it will hold all that info lending itself to becoming true vintage and thus you end up with that magical tone. Congratulations on your award lets hope it is followed by many many more awards

Online therapy will make money. But it will never succeed at helping people with the deepest needs. Probably not most of the others either. There is no substitute for in-depth personal psychotherapy at this time. (disclosure, I'm married to one.) The insurance companies are not on your side. You will not be funded to reach the depth you actually need. I wish peace to all who are troubled. Thanks Daisy for your superior videos and instruction.
