I enjoyed your technique. Especially the red (brown?) wheel on top of the settings, great hack. I have a question: in the thumbnail of this video, the random joins of the settings onto the shank(s) can be plainly seen. Are those just left as is? It seems like you laser welded and then fused (high karat gold), no solder used in attaching the settings for the stones. Can those lumps and bumps be cleaned up for a refined look? Or is the weld a permanent blob? I'm considering this equipment for tacking before proper soldering/fusing. Thank you for your time. This style reminds me of octopus settings. Cool 😎
I have watched a few of your videos now and can I say - you seem a skilled man and I would like it better if you had much less music and the camera going all over the place - and concentrate on showing us what you are really doing. People want to see HOW you make things, not flying all around with the camers. Thanks
I just tried copper inlay on the coin and the results are messy. my problem might be how to make a good groove so that the copper is held in place. for the trial I formed a circle. what do you suggest?
What material are you putting the copper into? Put it into a harder material such as stainless steel. The harder base material will make it much easier. And stainless can polish up nicely.
Beautiful work, did you do the trim in the groove? The so-called "dovetail"? As I understand you did not make a "dovetail" in the groove, then how to fix the wire in the groove? Or is the wire attachment you do "cornazen," at the very end?
