Hi, thank you for the nice video!! I was wondering, Is there a salary incentive for the foundation priority program compared with the regular FP?
@Sharvari
@Sharvari Год назад
Hi José, thank you so much for your comment! There usually doesn’t tend to be a monthly salary increase, but they have been known to give “signing bonus” type financial incentives. You can see the updated job incentives for this year here: foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/2-year-foundation-programme/foundation-priority-programme/. I still think it’s an amazing opportunity if there is a job that suits you, that way it’s free money for doing a job you like! Hope that helps, all the best! ☺️✨

hey, thank you so much for the video it was really helpful! I just wanted to check if you know, for the psychiatry foundation fellowship are you ranked purely on your royal college psychiatry application for if you get a spot or do you have to be eligible for the deanery in your foundation programme application to get it for the psychiatry foundation fellowship too. For example, if I applied for Oxford in my psychiatry foundation fellowship but didn't get a high enough score to get it for my foundation programme, could I still get Oxford with the psychiatry foundation fellowship? Thank you so much!

@Sharvari 3 года назад
Hey TamaEnergy! Sorry for the late reply - there are a few websites online that do reviews so this is what I could find for South Thames: www.messly.com/blog/foundation-doctors-guide-to-south-thames www.doctorshandover.com/south-thames There used to be a website called Junior Reviews which I found to be really useful but unfortunately can't find anymore :( I would speak to people from your university who have gone there to get their advice - just drop them a message even if you don't know them, I'm sure they'll be happy to help! Hope that's useful! :)

For FPP, what is the rough idea of how it goes like. (Eg: chose paediatric. Will the whole 2 years be about paediatric or will it be a mixed of everything?) How is the rural and remote area program FPP like? When i compared the places for FP and FPP, there seems to be the same location for quite a lot of areas, is it the same? Thanks

Hey Emma I’m glad you found it useful! In previous years, you have been able to apply for both an FPP and AFP, however the AFP offers come first, so you have to accept/decline before seeing FPP offers. You can read more about it here: foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/faqs/foundation-priority-programmes-fpp-faqs/. Hope that helps! ☺️

Really helpful video thank you! Do these stations apply if you just want to do Medical Education? And is the interviewer likely to know that's the one you applied for?
@Sharvari
@Sharvari 3 года назад
Maddie White thanks Maddie, glad it was helpful! So usually, they don’t know which type of programme you’ve applied for and won’t ask - however, some deaneries (ie. Yorkshire) do specifically ask which projects you are interested in from a list they send out in advance. So just double check with people who have applied where you are interested in. If there is no distinction made, then the interview is the same and they ask the same questions! Hope that helps! x
