If you look at the document from this link (scroll down, click on the Guidance document) that outlines the incentives, it states Northern Foundation School is offering £7,500 per training year on top of the standard salary. Some places are less explicit about it and just state "enhanced salary packages". So to answer your question... could be multiple thousands! I just wanted to check if you know, for the psychiatry foundation fellowship are you ranked purely on your royal college psychiatry application for if you get a spot or do you have to be eligible for the deanery in your foundation programme application to get it for the psychiatry foundation fellowship too. For example, if I applied for Oxford in my psychiatry foundation fellowship but didn't get a high enough score to get it for my foundation programme, could I still get Oxford with the psychiatry foundation fellowship? Hi José, thank you so much for your comment! There usually doesn’t tend to be a monthly salary increase, but they have been known to give “signing bonus” type financial incentives. For FPP, what is the rough idea of how it goes like. (Eg: chose paediatric. Will the whole 2 years be about paediatric or will it be a mixed of everything?) How is the rural and remote area program FPP like? When i compared the places for FP and FPP, there seems to be the same location for quite a lot of areas, is it the same? Thanks
Hi Yasmeen! So so sorry for the late reply - usually there will still be your mix of specialties in order to complete your foundation programme requirements, but one of your rotations will be in the advertised theme (eg paediatrics) and they may include things like research time/funding/mentorship depending on what the FPP incentive is. Each job is different so worth asking the deanery if unsure! In terms of how rural - this can vary greatly. There are some areas of London in FPP I think! The same hospitals will also probably have standard FP rotations, but if you apply for the FPP you may be there for longer, but you will get those incentives so definitely worth applying!

In previous years, you have been able to apply for both an FPP and AFP, however the AFP offers come first, so you have to accept/decline before seeing FPP offers.
