Hi friends! My name is Ahya and I'm a children's book illustrator from the UK🧸
Here, I share cosy videos about my life as an illustrator, the books I love, cottagecore wonders, and my love for the different seasons in nature that God has gifted us.
Thank you for joining me. You're so very welcome here ☕🍂

I’ve been recommending your channel and videos to almost all of my bookish friends because that’s how much I adore your videos! They feel like a big warm hug ❤
I added some of these to my to-read list just based off of how you spoke about them. You have such calming and lovely videos. I love the fashion of who sponsored you but I don't see anything about their sustainable practices on their website which worries me a lot. Anyway, you are amazing and great job on your speed reading!! Totally love Goodreads and have been on there since 2010 or 2011. It is THE BEST reading/review site/app. Glad to be a long time "librarian" there. What I didn't understand in what you said about the Wishing Game is that you had issues with it but still decided to give it 5 stars. If I am not fully in love with a book and find faults with portions, it will get a 4 star (4.5 in my head) review. Anyway, still, it sounds interesting! It is hard to read gigantic soft covered books and deal with the spine!
Are your bookshelves are overflowing at the moment? Why not convert to ebooks? With Immersive Translate, you can translate all your ebooks into any language. People at Simple Retro must be so happy to collab with you, since all their pieces look amazing on you :) I once did a one "full" day of reading (minus sleeping and eating time) and I just confirmed how slow I read. But I kinda like to savour books and take it slow so I can dive deeper in the world of the book. I find that if I read something very fast, it doesn't leave a lasting impression on me. I had missed your videos, by the way ♥
I just finished Hedgewitch yesterday and gave it 4 stars, but my opinions is very similar to yours, Ahya! I also found a bit too juvenile for me. It made me remember a lot of Harry Potter. Otherwise I loved the descriptions of the ambience, the sky colors, the variety of plants and etc.
Oh I’ve missed your beautiful videos. Thankyou for making this video :-) I have managed to complete 12 classics this year. My aim was for 10 for the whole year. I’ve now upped it to 20 :-) now reading “the hunchback of Notre dame” :-)
Awww thank you so much!!🥹🤎 And that’s so incredible!! Congrats on surpassing 10😱 I think I’ll definitely set a goal to read a certain number of classics next year as well🥰
I love riddles so I'm sold! Especially if I get to have a crack at them as well, ha ha. Btw, would you be able to say what you found disturbing without spoilers? Like, e.g. a graphic violent scene.
Awww I’m glad that you like the way it sounds and I hope you enjoy it if you decide to pick it up😍 And of course! Nothing graphic or gory at all - it’s more subtle certain relational depictions that I was uncomfortable with!
I think I will. I'm just a very slow reader and just got back into in and am very overwhelmed with my TBR. So much sounds good though, half a soul too! I mainly just want to avoid graphic spicy stuff.
Thank you for this very cozy readathon, Ahya! 😍 I want to read Ten Thousand Stitches as well, Half A Soul was sooo good! 🤗 And also the Apothecary Diaries are on my TBR for so long... 📚 Happy reading!
Hi Ahya! I read The Wishing Game recently and I enjoyed it but I was confused why Goodreads had it labeled as fantasy, it felt like just a contemporary book. I enjoyed it though! Thank you for recommending Ten Thousand Stitches, that sounds so good! You always talk about books that sound so interesting to me 😊 The last book I really enjoyed is called Bug Boys, it’s a cute and lighthearted graphic novel about two bug friends in their bug world. It was so silly and funny and I really enjoyed it
Yes!! I agree that being labelled a fantasy book can be a little misleading since it’s definitely more light speculative magical realism fiction, but I suppose it’s because it’s still on spectrum of the wide fantasy genre!🤔 And I actually have Bug Boys on my tbr already!! I’ve never heard of anyone talking about it so I’m super excited to hear that you like it😍

Ahya please could you tell me where your keyboard is from?? I’ve been looking for one that sounds like yours. And I also see that it works with Apple. Love the video btw 😎
Awww it was a gift from my brother but I believe you can find it on Amazon if you search for mechanical keyboards! And it’s a Bluetooth keyboard so it’ll work with any device that has Bluetooth hehe🥰 Thank you for enjoying the video🥺🤎
@@tabitacarlsson9632 My daughter has a similar one from Amazon as well. She specifically bought it for the keyboard sounds. Hers is a YUNZII ACCTO B303 and it works perfectly with her iPad Pro. It’s around $50. She’s had it for about 2-3 years now and it still works perfectly. Sorry. I tried responding 3 or 4 times yesterday and for some reason my reply wouldn’t post. I’m sure it’s operator error on my part lol.
Awww thank you lovelyyyy🙈🤎 I’m so excited to hear that you love The Aporhecary Diaries so much - now I HAVE to finish the anime to find out what happens ohmygosh🤣
This video was so good, loved the recommendations!! im excited to read some of these :) Also i love your vibes, its so relaxing (your voice its asmr for me 😴)
I'm rereading Oscar Wilde's Picture of Dorian Gray right now. I found a free copy from local coffeeshop with weathered binding & I'm excited that you said it was a fun quick read. I haven't read it since high school.
I’m a little late to commenting but loved this idea! I’m a huge Studio Ghibli fan too. One I would recommend if you haven’t read it yet is The Cat Who Saved Books - that gave me Ghibli vibes when I read it earlier this year.
I have a friend from England (London) who's lived in US for the last 7 years now and he simply cannot understand why any American would ever want to go to Europe. He's been on that California high the whole time he's been here, so much so that he's actively and aggressively put down every other state in comparison. And I don't understand why anyone would want to come from the States unless you happen to be running from a 3rs world country and you've been fed the illusion we all live in mansions and party with celebrities. The USA is harsh, the people are mean, and unfriendly, I don't think bigger or more is always better, and our culture is based on over consumption, over stimulation, and most days I just can't handle it. I'm sure living in Europe has its disadvantages too, but Europeans, annually, are ranked as the happiest people in the world. So, I'd like to be that too.
I am looking forward to getting my own copy of Babel soon. I’ve heard so many good things about this book and can’t wait! On that note, if you own an e-reader like myself, then you’ll definitely like having Immersive Translate around. It’s basically a free browser extension that supports a wide variety of languages. You can use it to translate all your ebooks into any language. Are you a manga lover? There’s also a cool feature, where you can get accurate translations to the manga you’re currently reading. All of these are within your fingertips once you download the plugin.
What a beautiful and cozy video yet again Ahya ❤️ I laughed so much when you said that you never thought you could relate so much to a garlic haha. I need to read the book asap 😍 I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
