Has anyone found a solution in the meantime for the „device not found“-issue? I.e. that you need to select the device first in the spotify app before it‘s visible for the api?

If you used wood for your core, it would have 2 times the relative permeability of the air-gapped core and there would be no danger of saturation. Of course, you could also use glass or water. They all would be better than the air-gapped core.

It's supposed be 10 - 9K * 1.5mA = -3.5V. It's a voltage drop across the 9K.

I'm just impressed that you are "putting it out there" and making these. Keep at it. Meanwhile, I have also built my own using a DVD-RW and a custom box design I made of my own. You can print it out on card stock and it includes all the places for folding tabs (so you can glue things together) and has the right angles and places set up and marked out. Works great! One can even separate out the yellow mercury vapor doublet at 578 and 580 nm! But I didn't make a video!

Do flux remains constant before & after air gap? since both MMF & Reluctance increases by providing air gap (ɸ=MMF/R). By the diagram it seems to be decreasing, so it means the increase in MMF is less than increase in reluctance. Please clarify.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: As I understand it, once we approach saturation, the current through the winding largely increases, whereas the voltage across the inductor drops, because the inductive resistance drops and we're basically left with only the ohmic resistance of the wire. Therefore, instead of using an airgap, couldn't we just interrupt the current flow right before saturation by using a fast MOSFET that uses the voltage across the inductor as its gate/source voltage? I already simulated such a circuit in LTSpice - so far it works in general - but LTSpice doesn't simulate core saturation at all. Would the reaction time not be quick enough (=how fast does saturation typically occur without any airgap?)? In case timing is indeed the issue here, in order to account for reaction delay of the MOSFET, we could also trigger it a little earlier by using only a certain fraction of the voltage across the inductor (=via voltage divider) as reference for the gate. [Background of this question: I'm searching for a more efficient design for a flyback transformer, triggered via a flexible PWM frequency (regulated via Arduino), i.e. without using the auto-regulated switching frequency of a ZVS driver] Thanks for the video!

Audio is extremely hard to hear as at maxum volume it is still hard to hear anything.Another suggestion: instead of using B and H ( point properties of magnetic materials) one should use corrresponding integral properties, such as flux linkages N X (flux in core) vs current I. This automatically includes the geometries of the core such as core cross-section and length of magnetic flux path. @@joemulhern First I agree with you calling Boost converter CRAP! It does NOT even have a useful isolated version!? On the topic of air-gap I strongly suggest that you view the CRITICAL comments I made to the recent air-gap posting made by Ben-Yaakov (Sam), Professor Emeritus from Israel! He has even some 5 or so postings on air-gap alone!? Unfortunately, the more postings he makes the bigger is his misyunderstanding on the subject!? Here is a link to those you Tube discussions.
