Hi found you on you tube as you were at Jasper Engine & Transmission. Not your fault but would like you to know that I am on my 4th engine from Jasper and could not recommend them to anyone. The factory engine, a Ford Trion V10, in my motor home failed at 68,000 miles. My garage ordered a remanufactured from Jasper and it lasted just over 100 miles. Balance shaft broke and went through the valve cover. Ordered another Jasper V10 and it was so bad we didn't put it in. Ordered a third engine and it has failed at 3200 miles with metal all through the engine so Jasper wants to send a 4th engine. I guess I have no choice but to put in and hope for the best. This whole thing has cost me $24,000. I tell you this because I think they gave you the tour showing their bright side but If I could, I would never buy a Jasper engine and tell anyone who thinking of buying on not too. I tried to talk to Doug Bawel and was told he is the CEO and it is not his concern as he would just send it to someone else. His names on the company but when you are that big maybe he doesn't care. Just wanted to tell you things are not always as they put out on you tube. Thanks for letting me vent........
So he removed the moldy parts and took it all to the face? And didn’t use air scrubbers or really do any special procedure like isolate the area, negative air pressure so spores and toxins don’t spread?
When I remove sheetrock I use a drywall router and follow the length of the 2x4. I set it to the drywall depth. I end up with a an 15 inch wide chunks - and it take less time.
You used the moisture meter to show people, but you knew damn well that it was hamburger behind the wall because it was so wet. I hope people take your advise about soaked insulation. It takes forever to dry out inside a wall. The drywall and insulation needs to be removed ASAP, before a plethora of black mold grows.
I just cut a piece of drywall out of a closet wall. I used an oscillating tool with a half-moon blade. It's a slower way to cut but judging depth of the cut is not very difficult.
Hilarious Been there, and done that for a dozen years and I know exactly how you feel! Yup... Invasive water causes all kinds of damage. It's almost as bad as fire when you consider all of the rip and replace due to water damage. Keep safe, healthy, and happy. Let your humor carry you through the troubling times!
Very helpful video! My renovated shower smells like mold. Room is more ventilated than before as an exhaust fan was added. Is there a way I can measure moisture in the tiled walls and tiled shower pan floor?
No need for this kit. Patch is way too thick. It'll be a headache trying to feather. What you really need is masking tape and a 6" knife, 10" knife for ease. Add the compound thin to the patching area cut a piece of masking tape or more if needed. Using a decent amount of mud on a 6" knife, spread it over the hole starting from the middle of tape adding pressure towards to end of tape. From the center, repeat towards the opposite end of tape. Continue by carefully gliding the knife for even spread. Feather edges by angling knife in a circular motion using a decent amount pressure. Glide blade one last time across the patch carefully gently but firm. Once dried, sand and clean the continue with a 10" knife by adding another generous layer of mud and reapeat the feather and glide method. Once dried, sand edges and run swift even strokes to feather with wall.
