Hi everyone! Welcome to our channel. We are work from home parents who run a fulltime laser cutting business using our Glowforge. Here you will find project ideas, designs, and helpful tips for Inkscape. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! We actually have an exclusive tutorial from our new business, Laser Design Club ( www.laserdesignclub.com ). We offer courses, tutorials, 10 monthly files, supplier discounts and more (including a lake map tutorial from one of our featured contributors). The tutorial is done mostly through Adobe Illustrator but I will also be doing a lake map tutorial on Inkscape which will be released at the end of September, only included within our membership for Laser Design Club.
Where can I find the right fonts for a laser-engraved score? Also, do you have any tips on how to choose the appropriate fonts for laser engraving? Or is there a website you can recommend ? @85th and Pine
Hi! For scoring fonts, it’s best to use single line fonts. You can find paid ones on places like Etsy or Creative Market. Same goes for non-single line fonts that you would do a regular engrave instead of score - you can find paid ones on those same websites or you can download free fonts on a site such as 1001fonts.com. You can use any type of font for engraving as long as you take the appropriate steps to convert it to a vector like I did in this Inkscape video :)
If you are buying wallets, or anything leather for that matter, the product will be listed as real or faux leather. The ones we had were faux leather, but you can obviously engrave real leather.
Some faux leathers aren’t laser safe but the ones we use are specifically for laser engraving. JDS industries has a wide variety but you have to have an account with them. Houston acrylic and smokey bill designs also sells leather products
