Unfortunately Aquael messed up and sent you the freshwater version. That's why you received a sunny light and if you notice where the barcode sticker is it's on the freshwater side of the box.
I rather have canister filter they come with pump UV sterilizer filter floss filter sponge bio media filtration all in one. sump can easily cost you $300 without anything I mentioned.
I have the same tank and it’s currently cycling. I’ve been in the hobby for a few years and when I first started my local fish store advised me when I had my first tank to buy a complete cuc during the diatom Blum once my cycle was completed. Well I followed thier advice and it didn’t go well as the food source completely died out. So I agree with your new house anology!
This particular walt smith 2.1 rock is garbage, looks like old school diy contrete made rock. At least the rock i got was, i was so disappointed when i got it but used it anyway cause i didnt wanna buy more 😂 2 years later im still depressed looking at it smh i wanna take it out so bad but its covered in xenia and other corals and hate to disturb everything lol But man i wish id never used it
Wish you would have done step by step process. Video 1 was you setting up tank video 2 was you added fish to a tank with established coral and everything. 😢
Great video! Two questions: Do the bacteria appear "out of nowhere" once there's ammonia in the water, even if there's nothing living in the tank? And can you also add the bacteria and let the water cycle without fish, or will the cycle stagnate without ammonia sources?
Been looking at a tank this size for my first saltwater tank to see how I get on. Would you still recommend this 4 years on, or is there better tanks on the market for a beginner?
I need a 100+ gallon... once I've invested into something in the thousands, I continue to pour everything into it for years. I lost my second freshwater tank after 14 years. Im going to watch videos until i move and then km going all in on a saltwater reef and fish tank... establish a bit of reef first, then start to add fish one by one or three by three ... happy building!
You talk about making the saltwater for a water change. I have seen that ready made saltwater can be purchased from some aquatic shops. Would this be okay? - Greg
Thank you. As a beginner this video was very informative. I have been looking at this reef tank as a start to the hobby and look forward to watching all the other associated videos. Well done!
Thanks for the info, looking at this tank, Questions might sound abit thick here, but when you start to fill up, you did 3l + salt .. do you this for you full fill up of the 35l or just once?
Super chill videos, man. Setting up my first salt tank, and I love the anecdotal stories about everything. Passing on your experience. Much thabks from California
FINALLY a simple and concise video about setting up your first tank. I’ve been contemplating taking the jump to saltwater for so long and this has given me the confidence to give it a go!
