Italy is largely un-interesting financially as a residency. I think it only makes sense if you just love Italian culture and another country won't do or you need an EU passport if your current passport limits you too much. Taxes are sky high, the Italian state run health insurance system is mediocre, governance is not super efficient and Italy has not really had stable governments in recent times. Your best bet is the whole dolce vita mantra, but there again I would at least consider a few alternatives or Ticino in Switzerland which has a lot of culture similar to Northern Italy, the same language but way more reasonable taxes and a reliable government. Overall in that region, Switzerland has far more to offer than Italy if you ask me. Even for getting an EU passport, there are some alternatives with more favorable taxes and generally less drama than Italy.

I would never invest 250k in Italy. There are way better investments and countries in Europe, Asia, and South America.

I lived in Singapore 7 years and now live in Thailand 7.5 years. I totally disagree with you, Yes, SG has changed due to what the natives say are the wealthy Chinese that have affected the island. We bought a condo in Thailand. I visit SG every six months and it is terrific as always. We lived in a Singaporean neighborhood and not an expat area, ditto for Thailand. We study Thai. We were able to get residency in Thailand and really enjoy it. Your video is extremely negative and pessimistic. malaysia taxes world wide income as does Singapore. Thailand just began to tax remittances but it is a progressive system and not too bad. Should it go to world wide income, we would bounce around. I am 76 and absolutely would choose Singapore if super wealthy, I spent time in central america which is totally UNSAFE. Mexico has too much of a drug culture and I know people who have had relatives kidnapped, Thailand is kind and everyone has been wonderful to us. Life is a temporary situation anyway. Malaysian here went to US. I loved US, the wage is so high! And cost of living is actually very less comparatively as well! Whole chicken just for $5 And lots of cool project to work in! When I went to US embassy in Malaysia, the lines are huge. The interview are actually pretty quick just lots of people want to go to US. I doubt most of Vietnam, Philippine, Singaporean, Malaysian hates American. Some definitely.

40 years an expat - been around Thailand for a few decades. Lovely country and charming people in which the "live and let live" ethos is generally the default position. Quite a few angry Westerners stomping around - avoid them and the places they frequent. If one takes the time to investigate the history and culture of the people and the reasons why things run the way they do, you will avoid a vast number of problems and enjoy many opportunities. It's kind of amusing that when so many Westerners are confronted with "freedom" , they go a bit stupid. For some it's a brief rite of passage and others a turbulent dead end. If you're not pushy or greedy and have a little self control it would have to be one of the easiest and most pleasant (and fun) places to be.
