Miss Wang is an exceptional pianist, and she performs this concerto admirably. However, my favorite version remains that of Byron Janis and the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra under Kyril Kondrashin.
Sounds like a musical score for a movie. Yuja is extraordinarily talented. I compared her performances to others playing the same songs and her versions sound better to my ears. Highly technical with clarity yet mature emotional and colorful. Perfection
I see Yuja Wang as to how the Chinese people have evolved from an agrarian society to be the leaders in every Academic Discipline. Yuja Wang represents the freedom of Art to be whoever you want to be. For the first time in Classical Music we see a beatiful Lady being proud of her beautiful legs. She is a pretty woman but most important, an free Lady Artist not being restrained by stupid dress codes and prudish critique. I love her.
How sad to see this pianist, she resorts to visual distraction in the absence of "feelin" in the performances, this has become a show more than a true concert, as Arthur Rubinstein said that due to lack of talent many musicians resort to to distractors and Yuja Wang takes advantage of that very well. wise words .
