Definitely watching it live here in Scotland. The way Hicks was talking earlier today i think hes DEFINITELY hitting 505kg 1.Tom Stoltman 2.Mitch Hooper 2.Iron Biby Remember in 2021 Iron Biby claimed a podium at the Gaints strongman classic even though he got injured mid show and missed 2/3 events
Hicksy has a chance to pull 505 but it's not 90%. I'm thinking 30-40%. He hasn't posted a video in a long time, not sure if that means he's stronger or weaker.
Also hope you guys make a video of Brian’s first arm wrestling match at King of the table here in America. I know it’s against Eddie. Still I’m so excited about the after pools because all the other best in the world will be there. Imagine we get to see Levan and Brian after pull
If Brian is very serious about armwrestling he should really consider pulling proper armwrestler, because we already saw Eddie and Brian try armwrestling with each other in good few collaborations on their youtube videos.
No one’s been able to beat Eddies OFFICIAL record. There might have been a guy who during Covid had fun in his home gym with his home gym plates. Then again, a bunch of people broken record in gyms. Only matters when you do it in competition competing against others in front of a raging crowd. Then again that’s just my opinion.
Max Deadlift - comp. = A. Andrade, Trey, Hooper Car Walk - Hooper, Bibby, Evan/Williams Dumbell Press - Hooper, Trey, Novikov Wrecking Ball Hold - Boring, Williams, Hooper Atlas Stones - Tom, Andrade, Novikov/Evan/Luke Hooper will only have to lift 1 stone to cement his win.
If you are going to be picky it's Scotland for Tom and Luke then please lol I hope Hicksy does it and Iron Biby could be in there too. The whole comp will be a good one though.
Biby said he was 215kg but that he had slimmed down to 'below 200' Luke Richardson laughed at him. Biby: Don't tell them! Luke: It said 199 on the scale at my gym 😂
Neither of you not putting Evan on the podium is crazy. These are some of his best events, he’ll be pushing Mitch on this one 1 - Mitch 2 - Evan 3 - Tom
How can we put him in top 3, knowing that in his last competition he got injured. We don't know how bad was the injury and will he be 100% recovered for this one. That sad hopefully your prediction is correct and he will end up in the top 3.
He was talki.g and said it was just a small tweak. Said he is fine but wanted to protect himself for the other shows this year. Hopefully he is on form.
Last year Hicksy had a pulled hamstring, and still won, even with injury he got the 505 to his knees,I do think there should be a 480 lift then onto 505. Lucy will beat her record.
I think it depends what you mean by "to his knees." It was under the knees, it's not like it was at the knee and he just couldn't hitch it up. Imo he's still a way to go but I'll be staying up to watch the deadlift at least, would love to see it.
100% agree Lucy is going to be the only one to break the record Lucy and Thor are in a different class.. Also if Mitch concentrated on DL he could join the 500kg club
Placing for top three 1.Hooper 2.Andrade 3.Ragg Its good to see Bibby finally competing again. I hope Oleksi comes in good shape he really has been falling off as of late. Im excited to see how Andrade places here that guy has great potential. Also no one breaks the 505, Kind of wish they would just go for max lifts and not just the record.
Totally agree re Tom and Luke. IMO Luke is certainly not the strongman he was, age and injury catching up with him. I'd like to see him become Tom's coach, be there with him through all the training and at every show. I think that would make a significant difference to Tom. 1,Mitch, 2 Evan, 3 Tom
But if Luke knew anything about programming at the absolute top level he wouldn't need a coach himself. Maybe Luke competes still because he enjoys it and he's still a top level strongman despite not being in contention to win major titles. Perhaps he doesn't just want to help Tom all the time.
@mediaproof960 Yes as many top strongmen do. But that doesn't mean Luke has the knowledge to improve Tom to an ever higher level. At least with somebody like Loz he's got a bunch of clients winning titles and one winning just about everything. So to say Luke should just start coaching Tom without that prior top level experience is just silly.
So its Cheick Sanou the actual name. regardless hes either withdrawing just before the comp, after the first event or finishing in the bottom half of the table with a bit of luck.
Hicks seems to be on a good trajectory for 505 but he’s gone a bit quite of late. Hopefully that doesn’t mean he’s plateaued and rather he’s at 505 level and keeping it on the down low. My prediction is 1 hooper. 2. Tom. 3 Evan; but I wouldn’t be surprised if Andrade podiumed. I’d love to to see biby put a performance in across all events.
Evan could be in a battle with Tom for 2nd, Tom has a alright deadlift but its not as high as Evan, the other events suit both of them pretty good, and finally Tom will come 1st for atlas stones.
The Female Deadlift Championships will likely be more exciting. Lucy is the only low 700s deadlifter in the world and could be attempting 727 lbs(which is also known as 330 KG). If the other athletes are lucky they might deadlift 682 lbs.
What other athletes? AFAIK, Lucy is the only female "competing". I love the irony of GL (the organization that disparages Thor's record) setting up a deadlift record attempt for a single athlete.
